People are arguing if this song is about BPD or Bipolar disorder...But why can't it be about...both? or just mental illness in general. I don't think we should be telling other people their perspective is wrong. What if both theories are right? Not objectively right, but 'valid'
facts!! As someone who is bipolar, this song has struck an extremely strong cord with me, to the point where I listen to it as a coping mechanism to be reminded that I’m not alone. I can completely see how people with multiple other struggles completely different from mine would relate to the song just as much though- it’s about whatever the listener sees, regardless of what the original inspiration was.
I don’t even have either and I still relate to this. I think it’s kinda rude to tell people they’re wrong for relating to a song. Especially when they don’t understand what that person is going through. Just let others enjoy music.

This song reminds me of dissociating from trauma. The intense feeling of losing yourself, the beat shifting at varying times for seemingly no reason, the feeling of no control over anything in the lyrics, it all feels like a disconnect from reality. The simple feeling of loss in the most strange and surreal forms all points to dissociation, at least for me.

the part about "saying things that i don't mean, not meaning what i say" is the most relatable line in any song to me personally. no matter what i intend, i always end up looking like an asshole because i just can't speak properly. i broke friendships that way. led someone to their death that way. its like a filter or being stuck in a box, unable to really say what i actually want. it never gets across to them. i will always be seen as the asshole.

I agree, this is amazing. Even if it's her english voicebank (and even if her english voicebank is one of the best out there) it still takes some serious work to make vocaloids sound so realistic!
My only complaint is that her voice isn't strong enough to convey the emotions in the song. But maybe that's just the voicebank's limitation. Who knows, maybe we'll get Gumi English Power in the near future.

I suffer from bipolar disorder, and both the imagery and lyrics of this song resonate deeply with me in a way I’ve never felt with another song. I’ve also heard friends with BPD echo the same sentiment. I think either way, this song is about someone that suffers from an unstable mood disorder that relies heavily on another person to keep them stable
I got diagnosed with bipolar disorder at a young age which both me, my mom, and my friend's mom who is a psychologist believe is misdiagnosed BPD. I have always had an unhealthy attachment to a "favourite person" in my life and that attachment often made those relationships toxic. In fact, the only friendships I've had that weren't distant, toxic, or one-sided have been online because I'm much more unstable irl. I am... really feeling this song.
What I think is a really interesting detail about this song is it definitely seems like it’s a sequel to echo. And in echo one of the lyrics is “why can’t I see, why can’t I see, all the colours that you see”. And in both of the song’s illustrations it’s all in black in white, but in again the only colour is the lighter. And they both have references to setting things one fire “I’m gonna burn my house down into an ugly black”, “I am on fire, a crying burning liar. Seeing nothing, nothing but myself, and I’m the one with the lighter”. So it seems from these lyrics fire is a representation of self destruction of some sort, and perhaps it being the only colour in both of the songs it ties back to how she thinks it’s the only thing she can’t do and “can’t see all the colours that you see”

I have BPD too (and know a lot of people who do as well) and this song as well as "Echo" generally resemble the disorder extremely well from what I know about it. On a personal level though, "Echo" resonates more with my own experiences, while this one reminds me more of experiences other Borderliners have shared.
Song hit home for me too. Both echo and this have really overt black/white themes which immediately make me think of splitting, coupled with the "when it's good/bad it's SO GOOD/SO BAD" part representing the intensity of their emotions.
I have bpd, too. This song reminds me of bpd's painful symptoms. In my view, ECHO is a song about bpd, too. I'm Japanese, so my English is broken.Sorry:-(

I really like the breathing in between; whether recorded or you actually made Gumi make breathing sounds, you are getting better and better in making her singing sound better and more and more realistically. Keep it up!

I can’t tell you how much I love this song, I’m literally obsessed with it, I relate with every word and it’s kind of sad to say this but it helps me vent by just screaming the lyrics and this song helps me feel like someone understands me. Gumi, thank u so much, I literally love u for this

I also like how some of the songs are about certain illnesses and how you bring light to these things and bring awareness through music (even if it's unintentional), and the way you present it is better that the "Cars-4-kidz" crap. As a person with Bipolar, this song was very powerful to me. The black seems to symbolize depression, while the white symbolizes mania. You really nailed it Crusher! Love the song!
Gumi isn't a pyromanic, she's a computer singing software. Vocaloids don't have personalities, only appearances and voice. This allows for creators such as Crusher-P to personify the voices any way they wish to. I guess in Wildfire she is depicted as a pyromanic, but there are multiple songs where the depictions of her are completely different. She could be a person struggling with a mental illness, to a sweet-loving girlfriend. It all depends on the creators depictions, and that is why I've always liked Vocaloids -- for the sheer creative freedom it can bring.

Man, this song is me as hell right now. This is another wonderful song. The only thing I can say that I don't like is that you and so many other people are going though the same things as I am. It's hell. The characters in the right and left of the singer are a very nice touch to represent, what I'm guessing is either depression and mania or depression and anxiety. Or just extremes in moods. Either way, it's apparent that they can't live without their host, and they have their host so tangled up that she can't sort out herself from what's taken over her.
I've related to this song for forever and just a few months ago i learned what BPD was and let me tell you, the traits and this song fit perfectly together, at least for me. Like the lack of sense of identity; the part where she sings about saying things she doesn't mean; the burning, i assume, is a reference to self-harm; the feeling of tearing apart and just all of your feelings going haywire 24/7; the intense way we feel emotions when we lose someone we held so dearly; the clear abandonment issues related to not wanting to get attached to anyone ever again. This has been comfort song for years along with Echo, and I finally know why.

People are arguing if this song is about BPD or Bipolar disorder...But why can't it be about...both? or just mental illness in general. I don't think we should be telling other people their perspective is wrong. What if both theories are right? Not objectively right, but 'valid'
facts!! As someone who is bipolar, this song has struck an extremely strong cord with me, to the point where I listen to it as a coping mechanism to be reminded that I’m not alone. I can completely see how people with multiple other struggles completely different from mine would relate to the song just as much though- it’s about whatever the listener sees, regardless of what the original inspiration was.
For me, it feels like autism. Or at least how autism has affected me and my school life.

This song reminds me of dissociating from trauma. The intense feeling of losing yourself, the beat shifting at varying times for seemingly no reason, the feeling of no control over anything in the lyrics, it all feels like a disconnect from reality. the part about "saying things that i don't mean, not meaning what i say" is the most relatable line in any song to me personally. no matter what i intend, i always end up looking like an asshole because i just can't speak properly. i broke friendships that way. led someone to their death that way. its like a filter or being stuck in a box, unable to really say what i actually want. it never gets across to them. i will always be seen as the asshole.

I got diagnosed with bipolar disorder at a young age which both me, my mom, and my friend's mom who is a psychologist believe is misdiagnosed BPD. I have always had an unhealthy attachment to a "favourite person" in my life and that attachment often made those relationships toxic. In fact, the only friendships I've had that weren't distant, toxic, or one-sided have been online because I'm much more unstable irl. I am... really feeling this song.

What I think is a really interesting detail about this song is it definitely seems like it’s a sequel to echo. And in echo one of the lyrics is “why can’t I see, why can’t I see, all the colours that you see”. And in both of the song’s illustrations it’s all in black in white, but in again the only colour is the lighter. And they both have references to setting things one fire “I’m gonna burn my house down into an ugly black”, “I am on fire, a crying burning liar. Seeing nothing, nothing but myself, and I’m the one with the lighter”. So it seems from these lyrics fire is a representation of self destruction of some sort, and perhaps it being the only colour in both of the songs it ties back to how she thinks it’s the only thing she can’t do and “can’t see all the colours that you see”

This reminds me of a person with Borderline Personality Disorder. I suffer from BPD, and when my favorite person left me, this is how I felt. I've cried to this song a lot. I'm pretty sure that's what the song is about but I'm not sure... opinions?

I have BPD too (and know a lot of people who do as well) and this song as well as "Echo" generally resemble the disorder extremely well from what I know about it.
On a personal level though, "Echo" resonates more with my own experiences, while this one reminds me more of experiences other Borderliners have shared.
Song hit home for me too. Both echo and this have really overt black/white themes which immediately make me think of splitting, coupled with the "when it's good/bad it's SO GOOD/SO BAD" part representing the intensity of their emotions.

I can’t tell you how much I love this song, I’m literally obsessed with it, I relate with every word and it’s kind of sad to say this but it helps me vent by just screaming the lyrics and this song helps me feel like someone understands me. Gumi, thank u so much, I literally love u for this

I also like how some of the songs are about certain illnesses and how you bring light to these things and bring awareness through music (even if it's unintentional), and the way you present it is better that the "Cars-4-kidz" crap. Please keep making these songs, even if you're only doing it for money and views. I love this music, please, never rush. Even if one song takes you a year I'll stay here waiting for it's release.

As a person with Bipolar, this song was very powerful to me. The black seems to symbolize depression, while the white symbolizes mania. You really nailed it Crusher! Love the song!
GUMI is hands down my favorite Vocaloid of all time. Her being a pyromaniac adds to the fun and darkness of the songs.
Gumi isn't a pyromanic, she's a computer singing software. Vocaloids don't have personalities, only appearances and voice. This allows for creators such as Crusher-P to personify the voices any way they wish to. I guess in Wildfire she is depicted as a pyromanic, but there are multiple songs where the depictions of her are completely different. She could be a person struggling with a mental illness, to a sweet-loving girlfriend. It all depends on the creators depictions, and that is why I've always liked Vocaloids -- for the sheer creative freedom it can bring.
I believe that they were referring to how fire/setting fires/burning is a theme that appears in a lot of English GUMI songs.

Man, this song is me as hell right now.
This is another wonderful song. The only thing I can say that I don't like is that you and so many other people are going though the same things as I am. It's hell.
The characters in the right and left of the singer are a very nice touch to represent, what I'm guessing is either depression and mania or depression and anxiety. Or just extremes in moods. Either way, it's apparent that they can't live without their host, and they have their host so tangled up that she can't sort out herself from what's taken over her.

I've related to this song for forever and just a few months ago i learned what BPD was and let me tell you, the traits and this song fit perfectly together, at least for me.
Like the lack of sense of identity;
the part where she sings about saying things she doesn't mean;
the burning, i assume, is a reference to self-harm;
the feeling of tearing apart and just all of your feelings going haywire 24/7;
the intense way we feel emotions when we lose someone we held so dearly;
the clear abandonment issues related to not wanting to get attached to anyone ever again.
This has been comfort song for years along with Echo, and I finally know why.
