Abriana Lucero
you are very pretty adriana
dex, ct.
Egyptian parents will never change no matter where they are. 😂
my dad literally says that too lol! he doesn't care where we are 🤦🏻♀️ 🤦🏻♀️
i respect that. it's easy to follow and harder to lead. may they be blessed always. and you too Rimi for being respectful.
The one dislike was Tim haha
😂😂😂😂😂😂
Totally unrelated, but you have the most elegant hands!
Oh myyy, why thank you darling 😅
Same are the parents in India as well. Boy and girl are the last to know after weeks of planning and background check.
Breaking an engagement is also a taboo.
Exactly
Omg yes great point, its also taboo for us as well! Glad we aren't the only ones that do this though!
Personally think you should generalize and say all middle eastern families are like this not Egyptian 😂😂 very common in Palestinian families as well. Typically works out but u never know!! Lol
Tutorial on the hair would be much appreciated 👍🏾
Yes we want you to show us this hair style please 😍
you got it!! :)
Sorry Tim😢😢
😂😂😂😂

Gurl same, dad wanted to marry me to a cousin but since I grew up in Europe, it would be unthinkable
Plus sorry but that much age difference is just gross
girrrrrrl do i have a story time about that... maybe one day ill share that with the internet hahaha! thats so crazy though, unthinkable is RIGHT
Damn would love to hear the full story, I'm sure a lot of folks could relate, especially us middle-easterns@@ItsRimi

Lol! So funny! I miss North Carolina. Used to work for an Egyptian eye doctor there.
Those dislikes are the accounts of "tim" and "tims parents"
I Love your hair like this please show how thanks. U r funny happy u did the right thing and did not get married:)😊
lol thanks! I will totally film this hair look so glad you like!
Thanks can't wait:)😊
I'm also Egyptian and I grew up in America after being born in Egypt. I have a non-egyptian b-word (boyfriend, lol) and we've been together for 4 years. We're too young to get married since we just graduated college, but hopefully in the next couple years it'll happen. My parents accepted our relationship fairly quickly, but sometimes my dad will still say things like "we don't do dating, he's not your boyfriend, you are just seeing each other." Like whattt? Egyptian parents are so afraid of change lol.
LOL “he’s not your boyfriend you are just seeing each other” I’m weak!! Why does that sound like something my dad would say too
My mom once suggested I marry my cousin. Man the Arab world is so different from North America😂
Soooo different!! 😅😅
i'm from egypt and while for the most part its true that parents are somewhat involved there's definitely a significant subculture of the egyptian population now where dating is fairly acceptable and common.
"الحب بييجي فالخطوبة/بعد الجواز."😂
😂😂 من حسن حظها أنها مو عربية
رغم استغربك لكن بيحصل ، الصراحة قليل بس عشان الناس بقت وحشة ، يعنى حتى الجواز عن حب و بيحصل طلاق بردو كتير بينهم يمكن بعد 6 شهور لولا حاجة !!!
I saw it by myself in the coptic church. But i am ethiopian. Love
Plzz make a tutorial of yr hairstyle
Yes please on the hair video!
13 years though? Damn!
3:05 same here in india (only if you dont hv a boyfriend)
This video was a whole mood hahah
Moroccans are v similar too
This was me when I realised a Moroccan dude I once knew from school wanted to come to our home with his parents and ask for my hand like lol calm down we haven’t talked in two years
I am v happy to say this did not end up happening 😬
Omgggg 🙈 while you were still in school?! Calm down is right lol!
ItsRimi it was a view months after I finished high school 😫😂😂
Things definitely changed, dating in egypt is a thing now
I don’t know how I JUST saw this..... I am ROLLING 😂🤣🤣🤣😂😂😂😂🤣🤣🤣 lmbo!!!!! I can’t 💀
8:58 nothing has changed😂😂
oh noooo haha 😩
7:30 - Relatable, thats what my parents cant understand
This is a personal question
if you don't want to answer it's ok3>
Since you are Muslim are you going to marry only a Muslim Guy or it doesn't matter to you
Cos Muslim girls aren't allowed to marry anyone other than Muslim
And if you will date/meet only Muslim how will you ever get married it's so little to find Muslim's there(sorry for my English)
can we get 5000 subscribers with no videos? Shes not Muslim, shes Coptic Christian
how stupid you guyyyy.. she is a christian
Lol, you’re so funny I love it.. the right guy will come in the right time👍🏻.. keep it up
lol thank you!!
Are you saying you like American guys as in culturally? Or do you mean you don't like ethnically Egyptian guys? I'm a bit confused on that "breaking news."
Coming from a 16 year old Egyptian girl, no the idea of "dating" hasn't changed here .However, A lot of my friends do it behind their parents backs bc if they find out they might just kill you . The thing ,everyone here is trying to appear cool by not following the culture and act more like what they see on instagram or in movies, but who can blame them its so oppressing here .Also, about the girls depending on guys thingy is kind of fading . . I lived most of my childhood in America (till I became 10 years old and m little brother became 4 )though. Washington, olympia to be precise . we moved back to Egypt bc my dad wanted to idk. Please post more stories .. Love you
Dating is definitely a thing in Egypt but it isn’t accepted by everyone. Even if it is behind the parents but it happens. There is girlfriends and boyfriends too but again not very accepted. also Egypt is really changing by time no more arranged marriages, things are much more open. And us girls we go to college and work and make our own money
🤣😂🤣 I love your parents
A) you're egyptian and your nick name is rouma....pretty sure i guessed your name now.... :D
B) Dating here is a thing but it's not really welcomed, it's a little in secret some parents may be cool with it, others no not really.....
Personally, i'd like to get to know the person first just like you you know dating, engagement and then marriage i don't want the usual "oh look he's a decent guy.....marry him !"
As an Americanized Egyptian from Florida, I totally relate to this video lol. My father had a friend an Egypt that wanted me for his son. I don’t think I would want to live in Egypt after being so Americanized. Also, Egyptian courting is also really hard to explain to Americans. I feel like most Americans don’t have the patience to do it that way. I am just leaving it all to God and hope it works out lol. 😂
I am an egyptian christian as well and I can so relate to you!!! I'm interested in American guys as well, and not egyptians at all. As for my parents they really don't care about the ethnicity of the guy but more so his family job and religion. And thats so crazy that your parents were okay with such a big age gap. Like my aunt and uncle are eight years apart but they are both in their 30s but 13 years damn girl.
Actually , this is still happening in Egypt but with few changes. Honestly, as a Muslim we don't dating at all , it has nothing to do with our culture . It's only our religion. But for my Christian friends they may date but not literally . They are called ( just friends) . When they feel more emotions , he would propose for her . I just wanna say that it's so lovely to talk to your dad for 3 hours . This is something awesome that I think you cannot find for The relationships of your American friends and their dads.
This is like in Judaism. it's called "Shiduch" when the parents are talking with each other about the goals of the childs and their status and stuff so they decide if they want their child to marry with the other. And then the children meet each other and after few dates they decide if they want to marry or not..
Yes a hair tutorial please! And you're truly a sweet, strong, intelligent, and genuine person. You may feel like you're in some sort of limbo place between American and Egyptian culture. I just know that God is on your side and you'll find the man you're meant to be with regardless of his heritage. Hang in there! Never lower your standards. 💖💖💖
In sri lanka parents are the same😣😣
😩😩😩
Hey Avishi. Just a concerned stranger here. Seems you're from Sri Lanka. Are you guys okay now after that tragedy there ?
@@sarahgracek We are okay but lots of people lost there lifes 😔😔 there's a risk for every sri Lankan. We never expected such a thing. Thanks for asking☺
@@avishiakurugoda5644 Yes be safe. People are praying everywhere you'll be fine 😊
@@sarahgracek Thank you 😘
Omg that phone!!! You use the same company my parents do.. magic something I think! Hahaha it’s an Egyptian thing
I'm Afghan and we have the same tradition. I married my husband through my parents. I am very happy. I have 2 beautiful children. Have faith in God and your family. Just look at it this way, if knowing your spouse was a guarantee of compatibility and marital bliss, then why the high divorce rate on Europe and America? In Arabic, tawakal, so leave it to god. wish you you the best!
I'm so glad that there is someone who's happy by this kind of marriage . Good for you ,girl . Wish you more happiness
@@wafaamostafa2312 alhamdullilah thank you!
did you straighten your hair
Nopeee hehe 😉
@@ItsRimi omg what it looks kinda straight at the front
lmaooo according to our parents it's the norm but so many egyptians date nowadays
Exactly same scenario in India. They don't force and play match.
Love your Egyptian parent stories!
Omg... This is so Pakistani culture. Each and every thing is so relatable 👍👍👍
Arab parents oof I relate🤦🏻♀️
Yes for the hair do , it's so cool and I know I can't pull it off but I'd still like to know
Wait so if you was 20 at the time that was 5 years ago your 25 now swear to god i thought you was about 19 or younger you look so young
Hahaha thank you! I’m a grandma 👵🏼
Where is the Invisalign update???
Lol what a name to come up with! (Tim)
WoOhoO
you is buitifol
I love your hair your makeup and everything 😍
100k
Lmao 😂
Except my parents said please don’t marry an Egyptian 😂😂😂😂😂
Hahaha wait what?!
I think that you should be proud that you stated your preferences to your parents. A lot of foreigners can't admit that they prefer Americans to their own.
