One of my bucket list items is to do a overnight to week long train trip somewhere. Something where I'd have to get a sleeper car. I've wanted to do that for so long. Thanks for the trip through the museum. Very cool.
Hello, my son and I just watched this. Very cool. We love trains and we will be visiting Frisco this month. We plan to visit the museum. Thank you for sharing!
Great video! Love the old locomotives. Thank you sharing! Seeing Train Topia made me think of Entertrainmnet Junction in West Chester, Ohio, off of 75 north of Cincinnati. They have an absolutely massive and detailed model train set up.
That 4903 is one of the most unusual locomotives I've ever seen. Wallie, I appreciate you taking the time to film the museum, and show this old man something new. When you think you've seen it all with trains, you turn around and find that you haven't seen anything yet !
Aww man, I just drove back into San Antonio from Shreveport... that would of been a cool stop to see. I typically avoid interstate driving and take back roads but next time I'll keep this in mind and swing over
This was awesome! Great museum, my wish though is for them to have a paved walkway for at least part of the walk by the locomotives for those of us with mobility issues. But I would go broke in the shop LOL Than you for the great tour!
That is awesome that you got to go inside that Frisco locomotive However too bad you could not have gotten inside the big boy that would even be cooler
I was in San Antonio many moons ago (perhaps in 1997 but I can't remember the exact year) and went to the then-flagship H-E-B store, which had a model train set hanging from the ceiling. So I wonder who had that idea first, H-E-B or Wegmans! Wish I could remember the name of the railroad that this was a replica of, because knowing how proud H-E-B is of their Texas roots, I imagine that train MUST have been based on an actual Texas railroad, perhaps one which once passed through San Antonio (or perhaps still does today)
