I had a c6 auto in velocity yellow about 5 years ago. I believe from the 2010 and up models (not too sure exactly what year) they had an extra pair of cats 4 total and an X pipe rather than an H pipe like in previous years. I had muffler deletes as well and it sounded okay but wasn't the best. A resonator would have cleaned up some of that unwanted sound. People told me my car sounded like if I had a broken muffler. So I did Flowmaster super 10s. Sounded good. Then I did headers and the exhaust didn't sound good so I removed the Flowmasters and put some dynomax bullet mufflers and much better!!! Now I have a c7 z06 torch red. First car I don't have to modify the exhaust! Love having that dual mode capability! I am looking into headers once my warranty is up.

Actually you don't want the crackling and popping. Fuel is getting into the chamber on the exhaust side and the heat from the exhaust is igniting it, creating the crackling and popping of which the residue attaches to the headers or exhaust manifold. I call it exhaust cholesterol. A proper amount of exhaust backpressure will alleviate it, as well as a properly tuned engine and timing , When you let off the accelerator, a properly tuned and timed engine with the proper amount of exhaust back pressure should result in zero crackling and popping and give you a nice consistent rumble sound.
I did the same to my 2005 cost me 100$ cause it was a friend of mine but price range is between 200$ to 300$ depending on the shop you take it ... If you have the tools you can do it by yourself
How is it after all this time? (I just got an 2007 LS2 C6 Corvette, and it’s bone stock with only like 40k miles) I want to make my C6 loud but yea does it drone a lot? Etc.?
Nope engine works perfectly fine after and no check engine lights , all the muffler does is silence the engine noise and removing it only makes the car louder

No mods other than the muffler delete and no it’s actually not too bad but when you floor it that’s when it gets loud it’s great
