There’s also a downside to having, say, four normal villagers on your island: villagers with the same personality type have a specific recipe pool that they pull from whenever they’re crafting. This is the problem I’m facing right now: I, at present, have 3 normal villagers. I can never get a freaking wooden bookshelf or water infuser DIY recipe.

I call Chief my "surprise favorite". He wasn't one of my og villagers, he didn't show up at my campsite, and I didn't invite him from a mystery island. He just kinda showed up one day when I had a plot available. He's basically just a grumpy, tired old man who is also very very sweet. Thanks to the internet it’s so fun watching and listening to people’s first experience with Animal Crossing, I feel like I need to live vicariously through them, since my first game was Wild World.
I just miss that cosy feeling of being about nine or ten, playing on my little ds lite, hiding it on a school night and playing into the early hours of the morning just decorating my little house and going to the flee markets.
Though that might be because I’m not a kid anymore.

I actually really love the jock villagers... I started with Rory and Sylvia, and while I never really bonded with Sylvia (mostly cause whenever i get stung by wasps she just laughs at me), Rory is definitely one of my faves. I now have three jocks, Rory, Bam and Sly, they all live on their own portion of the island, and I gave them an athletics track and a bunch of workout equipment. They all tell me I'm super buff and while I hate exercise, I appreciate their compliments.

A really good one is Celeste. It’s an indie platformer with fantastic music, art, memorable characters and a relatable story... akdydhskd it’s so good. Best thing is, it only costs $20, its DLC is free, it has replay value, and you can make things easier on yourself if your reaction time is slow (like me; it is a really hard platformer after all) with Assist Mode (which *doesn’t* deactivate achievements).

This is my first animal crossing game too and I’m obsessed. I haven’t missed a day in over a month. My native fruit is pears too! My first villagers were Fuchsia and Pierce. I didn’t like my first person to move in but then he grew on me, Nate. But he moved out recently. Now I have a bunch of amiibo coins so I’ll have a majority of my dreamies 😊
Zucker was one of my dreamies and he is so adorable, I was lucky that when I did the walk through game play, he was one of my OG villagers. He was like my third villager 😅 and when he tried to move I literally cried 😂
