There was this one homophobic asshole from a school that I used to go to and because me and him constantly got into arguments, some girls started shipping us. Recently entered the Undertale fandom and I will just say, I'm having a lot of fun with it even though it peaked in earlier years. The story and characters are great and even though on the surface it looks like it's just people obsessing over Sans (Which does make up a lot of the fans), there's so much more to it.
Same!! It’s true there is some weird stuff and a whole lot of Sans and AU content, but there’s so much other amazing content too, and I’ve even been inspired to start writing my own fanfiction for the first time :)

That's what I'm saying! I only recently entered the fandom but I feel like I joined at the best time. The fandom cooled down a lot which is great, and there's also deltarune and lots of cool fan games coming out right now and honestly it's just really chill.
I recently got into Undertale and I love it SO MUCH. Half my Spotify playlist is Undertale songs lol, and I've been drawing and posting a ton of fanart. It does annoy me a little that a lot of fans only care about Sans and never make anything with the other characters, but it's not a big deal cuz I don't hate Sans or anything. I wonder, is it a good or bad thing that I join the fanbase really late? I mean not as many people are into the game right now as they were when it came out, but there's probably a lot less craziness.

Lion Heart I loved it as a young, innocent child and did not encounter any toxic fandoms/ weird stuff, besides that one time I stumbled upon some weird comic video on UA-cam that was gorey and bloody and I think some pony died and I was mildly terrified at the time. I don’t really remember it anymore. Maybe my brain decided it was too traumatising and forgot it.

I remember when I was in middle school, I’d turn down watching anime like Fruits Basket, Ouran Highschool Host Club, and Ghibli movies bc I thought “they’re too happy”. I really thought I had the most superior taste for liking Higurashi (made that my ENTIRE personality), Mirai Nikki, Another, Umineko, and Bleach. But weirdly enough, Corpse Party was too much for me. ok, but I feel like most people go through these phases. Everyone thinks that it's super embarrassing, but it would be difficult to find one person who hasn't experienced any of these. Also, while I am no longer really an mlp fan, the show is actually decent, if not good. It's great for kids and has fun stuff for older viewers.

Hearing people talk about a 'Musical phase' will never not be a little surreal to me. The recent short wave of musicals that transcended theatre culture into popular culture really got a lot of people to give theatre a chance, and it was kind of amazing. As someone who works, in and grew up in theatre, I'm always thankful for something that can help people understand the potential of the craft.

I actually really like killing stalking, it's just that the fandom tries to make it something it's not (what it is: a messed up horror/thriller that depicts some pretty heavy things that does contain smut but is in no way a romance. what it ISN'T: a BL.)

The art is one I really like, me and my friends spent almost an hour praising the art, the writing? It's great but to many it's uncomfortable to read however the fanbase itself makes me disgusted because Killing Stalking is a story that is completely unacceptable to romanticize it.
@@spacetofu5306 Yeah I agree it's very uncomfortable. But I think that's the point, it's a horror thriller that's meant to both keep the reader at their toes but also sometimes make them go "wtf". But I 100% agree that it shouldn't be romanticized, especially since the author themselves said it's not a romance in any way

Same I went thru “phases” of being super into something but I still have the like for these things, like mlp, some webcomics I was intro when I was 12, hetalia was my first anime and I don’t like it anymore but I’ll still check into the fandom, I’m still super into anime and musicals tho like I started being in musicals because of the internet’s Hamilton phase.

SAME MAN, I swear to god, yaoi and gay fetishization ruined a lot of my relationships. I see so many girls pretending to be ‘soft uwu gay boys’ on roblox. Like Jesus Christ- everywhere I go I see a ‘gay bean’ fetishizor online. I’m so thankful when people realize that mindset is extremely harmful. i agree. you shouldn’t ship people in real life especially if they are friends. the only exception would be if the two people publicly say that they are okay with being shipped, like dreamnotfound. dream and georgenotfound both said they were fine with being shipped as long as it doesn’t go too far. however, sapnap and badboyhalo both said that they didn’t want to be shipped together. if the people being shipped say they’re okay with it, then it’s okay. just make sure to respect everyone’s boundaries and all that jazz.
I think there’s a limit when it’s casual shipping and when it’s an obsession and you think it’s real I think if the person says it’s wrong than you should stop because even I ship some people but don’t take it to an extreme because I don’t care I like them as friends just the same and I agree with you I think you should respect the people you ship I like to see people like you I feel like it gets lost sometimes you cool🙂
