Thank You All From The Bottom Of My Soul 🖤
This dude is gonna be shocked when he finds out she had an OD...I feel like he has no clue
He has no clue, poor guy. The album is going to hit him even harder
plsss react to grace vanderwaals first performance at americans got talent
Madison is her younger sister. Demi had a drug overdose and she was admitted to the ICU of a hospital when she was found almost dead in her residence. When she woke up in the ICU, her sister was there talking to her, but she couldn't see her. Demi was announced legally blind when she woke up, but has slowly regained her vision since 2019. Now, her vision is spotty and she also suffered from brain damage, but she's still alive and it's amazing to see her being healthier now.
You should really watch her documentary dancing with the devil and then listen to the album again you understand it A lot better
^^
definitely!
This album is literally a fresh start musically for Demi . Her tone has never sounded better than this
Your emotions feel even worse when you learn that she recorded “anyone” just a few days before her overdose
Oh no😔
The story behind melon cake is actually hers, her old team use to give her melon cake on birthdays to avoid giving her a real cake so she would’t gain weight, so the people who actually tried to give her a real cake got fired for that! once she changed her label she started receiving real birthday cakes!!!
Her team not her label!! She has a new manager now🤍
@@RIDWYER that’s what I said!
@@jessicagisell9382 you said when she changed her label. It wasn’t the label, it was the manager and team that was bad.
Melon Cake is a "shade" to her old team. They CONTROLLED everything she ate... She had a nutricionist, PT's, she and everyone around her were drugged tested, they had to take care with what they were eating around her.
Demi suffered, since early, from an eating disorder. Her team tried to control her bulimia by restricting everything she could eat, but it totally just made her overflow.
In her birthdays she couldn't eat cake so her team used to make her every year a watermelon covered in cream: "basically fat-free Cool Whip or coconut cream on top of a watermelon cut like a cake".
They made her a role-model and forced her to look a certain way that she never claimed to be/fit.
Demi wrote Butterfly for his father, who passed away in June 2013 of an overdose. In fact, the whole album is deeply personal, since it talks about his addictions that are directly related to her father, who was also an addict.
The first 3 songs are a prelude to her overdose in 2018. ICU is about when she was in ICU after the overdose and talks about when she woke up she was blind, and couldn't see Maddison, her little sister, it's a pun, that It turns out to be really creative and in a certain way poetic.
15 minutes it's about her ex. When they broke up he called the paparazzi to take photos of him crying and praying on Malibu Beach. 15 minutes of attention it's what he took of the relationship
Lmaoooo I didn’t know the story behind the beach photos 😭😭😭
i highly recommend you watch her new documentary, she talks about everything she’s been through with her overdose, her dad issues, her eating disorder.... she addresses everything your might hear in the songs and it so much clearer when you have the backstory! it’s definitely a lot to take in and it is very very heavy to watch but i promise you it is worth it. demi is completely raw and honest and she’s not afraid to open up and talk about her relapse! you should watch it
Upppp
The first three songs were the prelude . And icu is about her little sister Madison when she woke up in the hospital she was blind and couldn’t see her
Omg did you not know about the OD?!? 😱 your head is going to explode listening back to this album, which by the way is 10/10 she really did that 🔥🔥
facts
You would absolutely love her debut album called Don’t Forget.
Literally just watched Steven In Stereo’s reaction and I jumped STRAIGHT over to you. About an hour between uploads, so it was PERFECT!
I did that too!!!
Same!
hahahahahah saaaaame!!!
I just watched an interview with Demi about the song with Ariana. Well Ariana knew everything Demi had gone through, and wrote the song for Demi. She Didn’t originally want to be in the song and only secret vocal, but then Demi was like no everyone wants us to do a collab, so she stayed.
She has a documentary you should definitely check out to get more context. Opening up about her OD and struggles
Butterfly is about Demi's estranged relationship with her late father - he passed away in the month of June in 2013. Demi has struggled a lot with his death as they had not spoken in years when he died, as he was abusive. He dealt with substance abuse and drugs (like Demi) and she has always felt guilty that she was not able to help him. The meaning behind this song is that a butterfly landed on her finger on father's day, so she associates that as a sign of him.
''oh its not just alcohol'' ...girl u have no idea
I love that he doesn’t know her story but still gets the messages from the songs for the most part and appreciates the masterpiece this album is 😍
If you don’t know her story this album will mean nothing .She od and almost died thats why she was dancing with the devil but she started over butterfly is about her dad who passed away melon cake is about her old team controling her life and what she eats. ICU is about her sister ,when she woke up from the od she was blind and couldn’t see her sister (she recorded anyone 4 days befored her od and her old team and friends did nothing)
'Butterfly' is dedicated to her Dad... He also had a past with drugs an alcohol which affected a lot Demi. He abandoned her and her sister when they were children. He passed in June when she was younh but they don't really know the day because he was alone and they found him almost decomposed... But she's now able to restablish the connection and the bond between them, and he is the butterfly she looks up to in the sky
Dancing with the Devil is a great song so is the documentary!
ICU (Madison’s lullaby) is about her younger sister. When Madison was younger she couldn’t SEE Demi unless she went to rehab. And then when she had her recent overdose she was legally blind for days and couldn’t (now) physically SEE her sister again while in ICU
I also think intro came as track 3 or 4 because the first songs where from her overdose and then she started over
Omg this song is so special on so many levels
When she says "Almost made it to heaven, it was closer than you know" I think refers to when she OD at the hospital they said she had 5-10 more minutes left to live
you should definetly check out the grammy performance of anyone!!!
so much happened after 2011/12....I think he only knows the tip of the iceberg of Demi’s story 😭 I’m scared for him
he's going to be shocked to the core after he found out about the OD...
I love how he didn’t know much about Demi and even though it did cause some confusion because he doesn’t know some things but he went in with no expectations and got a bunch of surprises and loved it for what it was and I love that. I do think he should watch her documentary of the same name as the album
I love that Demi added that country feel to “the way you don’t look at me”, cuz her mom used to sing country, and I remember oof probably almost 10 years ago I read an interview w her in a magazine where she said she’d love to do a country album
15 minutes is about her ex fiancé. She expresses how he was basically with her for fame, and just what would come with being associated with Demi. So her saying 15 minutes is in relation, to the fifteen minutes of fame
And how towards the end she says something like “don’t cry in Malibu” cuz that’s where he proposed to her, and that’s where he called the paparazzi to come take pics of him crying after they broke up 😂😂😭
You should definitely react to her documentary. All of these songs will make so much more sense because you will know the story behind them
It was awesome to hear a completely (pardon the pun) blind take on this album without knowing any context whatsoever. It’s awesome to see that it hits just as hard with no reference. That’s real art tbh.
You should see her perform Dancing with the devil , ICU and anyone live acoustic version . She sings with so much emotion . It’s so beautiful to watch . This album is a 10/10 for me . Love your take on it btw . Her 4 part documentary on UA-cam really explains this album . If you do watch it grab your tissues .
Can you react to Demi lovato’s new album HOLY FVCK
Please react to Noah Cyrus' EP The End of Everything! It's perfect.
This man is gonna be so shook when he researches the backstory and listens again 💀🤣 but I'm so glad he still loves the album!
Recommend Demi react:
Anyone (live Grammy awards)
Sober
Stone Cold (live Billboard woman awards)
Father (live)
Dont forget:
•Take me to church cover (live)
•Confident album
•Unbroken album
•Tell me you love me album
•Demi album
Dang, when she makes albums she always goes BIG!!!! ❤️🙌🏾🙌🏾
She recorded anyone a few days before she overdosed and decided not to re-record it cause this version is a lot more emotional. It was literally a cry for help! I'm so happy you're reacting to this! She deserves all the recognition 😊
Lol I literally don't feel like people should listen to the album unless they watch the documentary first! They will get a totally different insight on this whole album
ICU was written for Madison, her younger sister. In 2010 Demi was given the ultimatum of continuing to use drugs and alcohol and not being able to see Madison or getting sober. The thought of not being able to see Madison was enough for her to get sober. In 2018 Demi suffered a near fatal heroine overdose, after relapsing in drugs and alcohol. When she woke up in the ICU Madison was by her side and spoke to her, Demi was blind, due to her 3 strokes caused by the OD. She literally could not see Madison, and couldn't recognize her voice. ICU is a reference to the Intensive Care Unit, where she woke up from the OD, and I See You, a message to Madison. At the end of the song Madison says "I love you Demi".
The butterfly is about her biological father that died in 2013!
Does he not know when she wrote Anyone 👀...Bruhh watch her Grammy performance it’s so emotional it’s more than iconic it’s jus so beautiful
The entire album tells a difficult story and when you think about it, the album seems to come full circle. Staring off with "Anyone" where she talks about asking for help and not being heard, she was in a very bad place. The album slowly goes through what happened from just before her OD, everything that happened after, and where she is now. Then the album comes full circle with "Good Place" where she talks about what she has done to get to where she is now. She is physically, mentally, and spiritually in a good place.
If you are interested in a bit more of an understanding I highly recommend her new documentary. It explains a lot of the meaning for thing and is named that same.
If you watch her new documentary it provides some context and makes it so much harder knowing the reasoning and stories behind it
I don't know why but it always makes me so mad when people listen to demi's music before learning about her background and who she is because the music just Hits different once you know just saying. ❤
React to her old’s albums!!! You would love it! 😍
Brazil is here for Demi 🇧🇷❤
Wait a minute. Does he not realize she almost died a couple years ago 😳?
15 minutes is one of my favorites, it's about her ex fiancé who basically is known for trying to date celebrities because of fame, he did it with demi and tried with selena gomez that's why she says "now you’ve got your 15 minutes, pack your stuff you can COME AND GET IT" and then she laughs, HER MIND!!!!!
Watch her documentary 3 episodes are out , it’s called dancing with the devil. it’s on UA-cam
Please react to Holy Fvck!!! It’s (in my opinion) their/her BEST ALBUM!!!
ICU is about their sister because they had a lot of realisations about what their drug abuse was doing to their sister while they were in the ICU
please watch the dancing with the devil music video!!
And all these first songs of where she was in a darker place and Dancing With The Devil was what lead to her Overdose in 2018... She explains EVERYTHING, literally everything, being the most honest and raw possible, things we never knew she just told on her Four-Part Docuseries that's also named 'Dancing With The Devil' which is available here on UA-cam.
you should watch her Documentary Dancing With The Devil on UA-cam
Great reaction! DWTD is about the night she od in 2018 The video recreates it. You should definitely check out the docuseries on her UA-cam channel. The entire album is about her journey and starting over.
this is like the best review about the album on youtube, even though you don't know almost a thing about Demi's journey. i'm impressed with your thoughts about the songs and album and i hope you watch her documentary "Dancing with the devil" to understand even more about her, and it'll of course impact more on your perceptions on the album. but well, thank u for this video, i liked it a LOT
Absolutely loved your reaction. Even better that you knew nothing in my opinion 😊
Honestly going into the album without knowing her background must have been so confusing for you, it takes a whole nother meaning when you know the story behind it and everything she has gone through, so I highly recommend that you watch both her documentaries cause you will most definitely be shocked at her strenght and will have a very different approach when listening to this songs❤️
You need to react or Holy Fvck! It’s sooo good! I feel like you’d LOVE it
About Him Last Night: Demi and Ariana are close friends to the point where Ariana knows everything about Demi. So Ariana wrote that song specifically for Demi and Demi asked Ariana to record with her and so the collaboration was born.
Ok, this was a really good reaction that I did not even notice the video was 55 mins long. You absolutely had no idea what happened to her but your insights were pretty spot on and had lots of empathy to them. I'm absolutely going to hit that red button!
If you would like to learn more about the meanings of the lyrics on this album I would recommend the Genius lyrics, they are pretty accurate. If you would really like to get deep into her story/life I would recommend watching her 2017 UA-cam documentary "Simply Complicated" and her 4 episode UA-cam docuseries "Dancing with the Devil". Just a fair warning as of now there are only 3 episodes of "Dancing with the Devil" released. "Simply Complicated" gives more of a full life overview, while "Dancing with the Devil" specifically talks about her 2018 overdose. She was also on an episode of the Joe Rogan podcast, that was very entertaining to listen/watch.
The butterfly is her dad who died
You should listen to Jessie Reyez, her voice is INCREDIBLE and it’s just like, wow. I recommend “Do You Lover Her?” Or “Apple Juice”
OMG YES
You should have watched the documentary first so you could relate better to the lyrics. Great review though...
Hey would you mind to react to holy Fvck ?
You have to react to the video of Dancing with te devil
You should watch her Grammy performance of Anyone it is amazing!
love the reaction, you have to see the documentary to understand the complete story of demi
Omg I didn’t think you were going to react to this ! She’s my fav, made my day thank you !!
You should watch her music video for dancing with the devil, it literally goes through the events of her overdose. From showing how her dealer left her and took advantage of her to her having the same Same hair and outfit and everything in the video. Heart breaking
I suggest sir, you watch her 4-part documentary here on UA-cam. All of the story behind the songs of her new album is tackled there
You should read to Noahs ep "End of Everything" she's similar to Miley but where Miley's voice is crunchy peanut butter Noahs is smooth PB
It’s almost hard to watch this knowing that he knows nothing about Demi’s journey :( please watch the Documentary Series on UA-cam!
Please react to her UA-cam series Dancing With The Devil - it gives a lot of context to everything that happened in her life leading up to this album. It's hard to watch because it talks about the very difficult things she's gone through but it's incredibly honest
React to some Noah Cyrus stuff or to more Miley stuff 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
So madison is her half sister. When she woke up in hospital from her OD, she was blind and couldn't see. Her half sister was there the whole time and Demi asked who was there when she woke up as she didn't know. ICU I believe aswell is the department she was on in hospital. The first 3 songs are about the overdose and drinking and that and then track 4 the intro goes into the art of starting over and how shes in a better and happier place now
REACT TO THE GOOD TIMES AND THE BAD ONES BY WHY DON’T WE PLEASE
Madison is her sister
I haven’t finished the whole video yet (obviously) but I bet you would end up falling for her at the end of this!!!
Madison is her sister and 3 years ago Demi overdose and was on the UCI and when she woke up she couldn't see Madison
I think if You see her docuserie call Dancing With The Devil here on You tu be, this cd Will hit You Even more
This is so interesting to watch from the perspective of someone who knows almost nothing about Demi. Wow. I’m so surprised you didn’t know about the overdose!
Ari actually wrote the song for demi..but demi wanted ari to stay on the track with her
React to her tell me you love me album it’s a masterpiece
The album starts with Anyone which is a song she wrote and recorded (this is a demo with no effects or re recording) days before she ODed
You actually need to react to her new documentary to understand what this album is all about
Love your reactions ❤
Can you please react to Miley ft Noah Cyrus i got so high that i saw jesus
you gotta check out their newest album!
You should react to Monster by All Time Low and Demi
Yes! I was looking for your reaction🙌 I.C.U is about how when she was in the hospital after her overdose, her little sister said "I love you" or "Im here", and Demi was legally blind for a bit and couldn't see her and said "who is this?". So its a message to Madison that she'll always be there and that she can see her, hence I.C.U or I see you.
please react to her documentary series that started coming out it’s so good and it helps you understand all these songs and her relationship with substances
Following her for years and knowing her story made this album no meaningful
please react to her documentaries, i would recommend you to start with "Complicated", because it came out before, and then check out "dancing with the devil"
She wrote and recorded Anyone like 4 days before her OD
You should watch her documentary “dancing with the devil” you would understand her story and this album much more! There’s a lot of references
react to her documentary dancing with the devil please, you will understand all of the stuff
you don't know the whole story 😮 it's gonna hit you
