MTA NYC Subway R211 Delivery with Street Running on NYNJ Rail Tracks, 1st Avenue

- Here are various videos taken in March 2024, featuring a 5-car set of Kawasaki R211A cars being towed from South Brooklyn Marine Terminal to Coney Island Yard.
Very interestingly, recent deliveries of R211 cars have required cars to be shoved down (by a railcar mover) several hundred feet on public roads - in particular, 1st Avenue in South Brooklyn; this track is normally used by New York New Jersey Rail (NYNJ). Afterwards, the usual NYC Subway locomotives were connected to the R211 set, and the delivery move continued towards Coney Island Yard using the South Brooklyn Railway.
I do this move every week. I'm one of the train service supervisors (white helmets) for the New Car Delivery for the R211 cars. They used to have us make the add in the yard just before this street, but Skanska has taken over that yard and ruined everything. We now have to do it this way with the add being done on 1st Ave. Been doing these deliveries for the past two years. Nice video of the process 👍🏾
Thanks! wow - I didn't realize different construction projects were why the delivery locations were changing up.
Great video! That’s the cleanest and shiniest then subway cars are ever gonna look!
IV’E BEEN WAITING FOR THIS!!!!!!!
Nice video! THANKS!

As a native of NYC (born and raised since the 70's), I always wondered how and definitely, where these trains are built. Also, after they're built, how do they make it to the NYC subways system.
Good thing they use standard gauge, unlike, say, BART
Nice
Any word when SI's R211's will hit service?
How are these trains arriving in NYC, by barge, truck or rail?
Truck
@mtattrain2 why did my reply get so many likes lol

How do you know when they arrive/deliver?
What’s sparking?
graffiti artists are drooling in the nyc shadows
Around what time do they move around
2am. My cousin leaves near by there.
Hit or miss. Between 1-4am.

Brand new right ‘out of the box’ only to be vandalized by the savages that ride it. Sad.
I ride these, you calling me a savage? Putz.
@@emfraza7953 yeah I’m calling you a savage! Piece of excrement.
@@emfraza7953 I’m calling you a Stvpid savage! How’s that?
This r211 delivery method is officially uncensored
That tweaking sounds 🎵 scared me because I don't want my r211 boys to get damaged
The full order should be delivered by 2067 😒😒😒
We just delivered 4240-4244, so we will probably be able to replace the A line by the end of the year.
@ice319 nice for the "A" 😒😒 while taxpayers on the N and Q get stuck bearing the brunt of removal of the R160's for the never ending, bottomless pit CBTC project and get stuck with the entirety of the rapidly deteriorating R46's. So much for that. MTA has no respect for South Brooklyn pax.
The A C lines is getting CBTCS I tell you that right now. After all the R211A/Ts gets here the R68S R68AS has to come off the A C lines and put the R68S R68AS back on the B D lines or the N W Q lines.
They about this close to find a builder for the R262/As .
@@leecornwell5632 R68/R68a is getting replaced with the R211. The order is to replace the A, C, B and D lines. 68s are getting scrapped. The plan is to eliminate all 75ft equipment and keep the B division at a uniform 60ft car standard. We are running out of parts for 75ft cars because the companies that made them went out of business years and ago.
