🇨🇦/🇺🇸... HENRY, LAD! When I was a young man, such as yerself, back in Canada, I loved camping, hiking, cycling and backpacking. Day hikes have been all I've done since being here in Michigan. But it's been years... DECADES since I've been truly been on a camping vacation! Because of folks like you and Thomas and others, I've been setting myself up with some backpacking and camping gear, bro. Hopefully we will ALL be in a better situation in the spring. You've got some really gorgeous shots this episode... for your 2023 calendar!! Cheers, Henry! 😁
Hi Henry, hope you enjoyed your time in Scotland, what a wonderful place to take photograph's. Now, with regards to your cooking gear, why don't you get yourself a fishing umbrella, so even when its raining you can sit under your brolly and cook away to your hearts content. It won't take up too much space in the car either ⛱⛱📷📷👍👍
In the 9:50 area of the vid; that is great advice: to move around and look at the subject from other than the car park (or pull out, I would add). I am so guilty of that. Many thanks, Henry, maybe now I will remember it...one can hope.
As a huge (and grateful) fan, I can honestly say that the content you are putting out is getting better each week Henry. Love the detail you go into about each composition, and the attention to every part of the shot to capture the atmosphere the way you see it, is just amazing. Please keep up the good work, keep sharing, and keep your enthusiasm and keep enjoying what you do, as it comes across so well in these videos. Thanks as well for all your help with my photography - Living the Dream!! - Bear
Wow. Good to see you show the World of Photographers just how to make a great cup of coffee, Henry. I always enjoy your perseverance and your sense of humour whilst showing us how to improve our own skills. Thanks Henry. Stay safe Mate.
Great video, Scotland just hits different. Great locations, been to them all myself! That beach headland is lovely, and that woodland is one of the nicest I have ever seen. Looks better with inclement weather.
I love the way you portray our lovely country, and it's so nice to see people from elsewhere in the UK saying such nice things about Scotland. I have also decided that I think I need some ND filters and a polariser. I was on Harris recently and wanted some long exposures of the sea but just couldn't get a low enough shutter speed without a filter. Cracking pictures, love the long exposure water ones especially.
Henry, looks like you had another awesome adventure! Loved the river shot!! My favorite thing is hearing you talk about drama in the sky and how it adds so much to your photos.
What a beautiful country Scotland is. You basically have everything there. Coast / sea, hills and woodland.. Someday I might go there! Love the shot at 23:40, but all of the pictures turned out great!
Henry, part 2 did not disappoint. My two favorites: Your photo of that scenic, lone cottage at the edge of the sea...oh my, what a glorious location! And the shot taken from the bridge, of the boulder-strewn river - I agree about it being one of the best shots of the trip. Thank you once again, for taking us along to share your adventure.
Your definitely living the dream Henry, great video i really like the castle pano. Infectious enthusiasm as usual, good stuff! PS received my beautiful calendar a few days ago, you get the thumbs up from both Michelle and myself we love it
Another great video, with awesome pictures as always. I like the coffee maker you have think I'm gonna invest in one. Look forward to the next adventure 👍👍👍👍
Another excellent vlog Henry, but leaving us all in your car while you go out on your own to have a night by yourself is nothing short of abuse 🤣🤣 looking forward as always to next Thursday's video, great photos as always, keep them coming 😁
Henry, nice walk and variety of photos this time. However, I am seeing you use the tripod almost entirely. I remember not long ago, perhaps the turn of the year, you managed to get impressive images handheld and you felt liberated. I think you had even more enthusiasm. Why not go back to that? Excepting of course the obvious cases of long exposure or really dim light. Either way, I really enjoy your style. Let's crack on!
By eck Henry, the 1st shot were a belter, 2nd pano shot was good and the river shot, superb. Calendar arrived a few days ago and it is quality mate. That bacon butty was a thing of beauty.
glad to see you having a productive trip Henry and hopefully you will be back up here in the not too distant future. Great images in the episode as well, loved the seascape 👍
You have yourself a new fan. 😊 Trying to learn as much as i can about landscape photography. And i find your productions not only to be full of great knowledge, but they are also soo full of heart and soul. Bingewatched your backcatalog. Every minutte well spent. 😍👍 I just wish you could share the artists and titles for the music you are using. It is amazingly atmospheric and well placed in your videos. Keep up them Videos. Much 💓 from Denmark
Hi Henry, really enjoyed your video. I'm not sure how many people you were cooking for there but the bacon looked delicious. For me, the image from the shore was the best. Quality keeping it real landscape photography super stuff. BTW my calendar is already pinned to the wall ready for 2022, excellent. Top drawer and waiting for your next adventure.
Great video again Henry. Interesting as I was in Strontian a few months ago, also visited Castle Tioram and struggled to get a composition. In the end I ditched the images that I had taken. Cheers.
Great photos & video Henry. I have been visiting Ardnamurchan for many years taking all kinds of photos, and it’s a wonderful place, actually, magical. Next time you’re there try and visit the island of Carna as it is an undiscovered gem full of photographic opportunities. A true get away from it all experience.
Thanks for this adventure Henry. Really like the castle photographs, I agree the Mavic photo is the better of the two, also the one from the bridge is class. 😃
Hi Henry, worth the trip for that bacon buttie alone! Excellent images as ever, and in particular that last one ... f14 presumably to give you a longer depth of field. Great advice about use your legs to find a composition, and thoughtful technique with the castle pano to compress perspective. As ever great stuff and thanks for sharing yet another of your grand days out. Keep living the dream!
Hi Henry, enjoyed the video. Might I suggest you get a van in the future if you can afford one. I travel around a lot as a landscape painter and bought myself a Nissan NV200, paid about "£5K for it, it's only got a 1.5 engine but is really economical. I put a mattress in the back and call it a camper van, much more comfortable than a car. I know how expensive camping vans are.
Hi Henry , some stunning scenery, really liked that castle and i think like you in those conditions on that day from the beach it didnt seem to quiet work, but from the air with the dron the shot at 13:45 i thought was fantastic , what a scene and given the more unusual viewpoint really made the image, liked that a lot !
Well Henry - you certainly are living the dream - especially in THAT landscape. Isn't it beautiful though? I have the Photographing Scotland and the Wild Places too sop I was following your journey with special interest. I've visited that area myself many moons ago (before the photography bug got me) so now I have a yearning to go back again. Keep up the great work fella - it's much appreciated in these uncertain times. :-) PS - my calendat arrived a few days ago - it's absolutely lovely. Can't wait for 2022 when it's on the wall!
Cheers, Henry! Smashing video and I have to tell you that I gain a lot of photography knowledge from you but now, I learned about that very cool coffee press you used in the start of this video! I’ve been only drinking tea because I don’t want to make a pot of coffee just for me! So I just ordered it and I will toast you when I get it! There goes my shaky nerves!!! Sean
Good work Henry. Thanks for your efforts. I would say you’re better off shooting at ISO 400 than 320 on the Z7 due to High Conversion Gain kicking in at ISO 400. You’ll get a little better dynamic range at 400 than 320.
Great shot of the rocky/sandy beach - I've been there a few times myself - always interesting to see how other photographers approach the scene... There is so much more to photograph on that coastal road, you could spend a month there and still think you'd need another month or more to do it justice. Great video.
Great trip Henry! I have noticed that the sound has been varying in your last few videos. (just an observation) Wonderful images! Thanks for bringing us along!
Next trip to Scotland base yourself in Muir of Ord near Inverness, there's a nice b&b there, you can easily explore the north and west without roughing it out in a car. There are some awesome places you can get great images that many folk don't know about.
I was at Tioram Castle a few days ago, I was also uninspired by the location. I did manage a long exposure from the shore with the tide in, but as I'm still on the Ardnamurchan have processed it yet.
What! No tomato ketchup in the bacon butty. Absolute sacrilege! But apart from that, an excellent video and some wonderful images to ponder over and be jealous of (well jealous in my case). Cheers. Ken
Enjoyed the video a lot, bacon sarney looked Top Draw as did the castle image, loved the balance each side. One question, some really odd focal lengths shown - 4.99mm on the castle shot for instance ???
Coronary b/fast❓ you always pull your shot out of the bag. I particularly like your initial image. You always give me encouragement and new ideas / thank you 🙏 We’ve had almost constant rain for what seems forever in Wester Ross 🌧
Another fantastic video pal. Stunning place and photo's. So envious of the freedom of your landscape story. Question where did u get that coffee press thing and what coffee do u use. Trying to find a good coffee and that looks great.
Your pics are just awesome 👌 Discovered your channel just a few days ago and am going through your videos one by one. A quick - and maybe silly - question: for non-professional use how does your iPhone stack up against the APSC sensors? Drastic difference in IQ or subtle? To my mind even a 1 inch sensor should drastically outperform any phone camera, but all these videos talking about how the iPhone is much closer to DSLRs than most think, got me scratching my head ....
Hi Henry, like your videos of my country bonnie Scotland, ref the castle it would be better visiting them at sunset or sunrise, I am doing a project on that and have some amazing images 😊📸👍

20 sec walk boom there is your dinner :) loved that bud ...
Living the dream! Perfect.
Great video once again, i enjoy watching them all. And can i say, my 2022 calender has arrived and it's absolute quality, thank you so much. OUT.
Great video, great photos.. love your enthusiasm Henry.
Mind-blowing photography bro, keep safe always.
Thanks Henry! When you get the chance try the north coast and the bit down to Dornoch. Stunning.
Hi Henry, hope you enjoyed your time in Scotland, what a wonderful place to take photograph's. "this is what you get when you bring sunglasses to Scotland, justice has been served" couldn't stop laughing at that one 😂
Just love that river shot - beautiful
Another great video Henry.
Loving the mini series of your Scotland adventures.
Nice images as usual.
I look forward to seeing your next video.
Great video, great series for that matter!!
Ps: I love all the Canadian swag you have on from time to time. Absolutely solid!
In the 9:50 area of the vid; that is great advice: to move around and look at the subject from other than the car park (or pull out, I would add). I am so guilty of that. Many thanks, Henry, maybe now I will remember it...one can hope.
The river picture was fantastic!
I love photographing landscapes that include rocks. So, I love the castle. It is made from stones and boulders!
Henry, the creek photograph at the end looked like a Thomas Kinkade painting. Awesome. Thanks!!
hi Henry fantastic place , fantastic photos and colors congratulations
I think you did that castle photo the right way bravo!
Love the last image of the River. And the castle shot works. Great adventure

Love the Blue Jays hat!! Photos too
Hi Henry,
Many thanks for my wonderful calendar that arrived this morning. Cannot wait to put it up. All the very best, Graham.👍👍😎😎
Wonderful!
Love it Henry takes me back to 1980s when my wife and I would jump in the car at the weekend and head up the west coastline.
justice has been served lol. what a great life. always enjoy watching you Henry. your incredible enthusiasm shows in your photography. kudos!
Great shots, Henry! And LOVE the Toronto Blue Jays cap!! :D
Great video, Scotland just hits different. Great locations, been to them all myself! That beach headland is lovely, and that woodland is one of the nicest I have ever seen. Looks better with inclement weather.
What a lovely adventure you had. I just treated myself to a calendar for my birthday.

Henry, looks like you had another awesome adventure! Loved the river shot!! My favorite thing is hearing you talk about drama in the sky and how it adds so much to your photos.
Despite your misgivings, I like the pano of the castle.
Awesome vlog buddy. Also now have the 24-200 z lens and nisi screw in filters, loving them so thank you!
Glad you enjoyed our country so much Henry, looking forward to welcoming you back soon. 👍😎
Loved this little mini series, look forward to more HT!
For those who missed it '20 second walk, there's ya dinner' love it classic Henry.
And who can't identify with losing (and dropping) yer lens cap!?
Always an inspiration, Henry! Somehow i got unsubscribed but I’ve rectified that! ❤️ from Texas!
Beautiful
Thanks for taking us along on your journeys, Henry. Great stuff!
Thanks Henry another highly enjoyable adventure
MY TIP: Try Castle Stalker against a colourful sky next time. Or Eilean Donan, Wester Ross.
Photographed Castle Stalker 1978 sunset, Kodachrome 64 printed Cibachrome, been on my wall ever since, never tire of it.
Fantastic video. Thank you always for great content!
Thank you for my Calendar delivery :-)
Excellent Video Henry.

Thanks for this, Henry! I can't be in Scotland but I can be with you! Love and miss Scotland! Great videos and enjoying this so much!!! Cheers mate!
Another great adventure Henry and some great photos. Experimenting and thinking out side the box is the key to improvement.
Your definitely living the dream Henry, great video i really like the castle pano. Infectious enthusiasm as usual, good stuff! PS received my beautiful calendar a few days ago, you get the thumbs up from both Michelle and myself we love it
Thanks again!
I'd trade 100 sunny days in El Paso for one day on any shoreline in Scotland, raining or not. Love the photos!
Another great video, with awesome pictures as always. I like the coffee maker you have think I'm gonna invest in one. Look forward to the next adventure 👍👍👍👍
I had it right in last weeks vid castle Tioram great location.
Another excellent vlog Henry, but leaving us all in your car while you go out on your own to have a night by yourself is nothing short of abuse 🤣🤣 looking forward as always to next Thursday's video, great photos as always, keep them coming 😁

Thanks Henry, fantastic video. I didn’t know about the DX mode and extending the reach! Blew my mind, what a fantastic option to have. 👏
It doesn't it just crops the image

Hi Henry, lovely gentle video. Is the new camera making a real difference?
Where shouts in Scotland is the castle located, am from Scotland and the castle looks pretty amazing
It's Castle Tioram in Lochaber, an incredible spot.
Hi Henry, like your videos of my country bonnie Scotland, ref the castle it would be better visiting them at sunset or sunrise, I am doing a project on that and have some amazing images 😊📸👍
