Shawn & Mel, you'll love her "Goodbye to You" and "The Warrior" when she was in the group Scandal!!! edit- also Don Henley's "Heart Of The Matter" and "End Of The Innocence"!!!
This is an example of the PERFECT PAIRING OF TWO COMPLIMENTARY VOICES. Patty and Don have what I call "Smoky Joe's cafe" type voices and both are awesome here.
I just love Patty Smyth and her voice. She did the best version of Downtown Train on her first solo album. Rod Stewart had some success with it, but Patty's was the best version and had a fabulous accompanying video. Never Enough from that same album is another great rocker. And Don Henley has had, of course, countless wonderful songs: End of the Innocence, Boys of Summer, and Heart of the Matter to name just a few, and I really mean just a few. There are so many more, like Sunset Grill and I have to mention New York Minute. You clearly had fun with this song, and I'm sure you'll love the above too. Bless you.
New subscriber ❤...y'all's reaction to this song was spot on and I loved it. I'm 50 yrs old and it's still hard for me to listen to this after all these years without shedding a tear. Always gets me in the feels. If you've ever been in this kind of relationship with someone...you just get it. 😢
Don Henley is LEGEND. One of the founders of The Eagles. Don Henley plays the drums for The Eagles. He also sings lead on several of their songs. When they broke up he had a successful solo career as did the late great Glenn Frey. The Eagles have such a magnificent catalog. Henley also did a great duet with Tricia Yearwood. "Walk Away Joe". Great reaction!
Shawn and Mel, I’m so glad you’re back reacting, don’t let Negativity get you down! This song is just fricken awesome, Patty and Don’s voices blend so well together on this duet, THANKS
Thank you. Thank you. Thank you for reacting to this great song by two great artists. When I first heard it in 1992 it hit me hard. I felt this song...it has many memories for me. Good reaction.
Don has dueted with Patty, Trisha Yearwood, Stevie Nicks, Bonnie Raitt, Reba McEntire, Dolly Parton, and Martina McBride. Of course he he shared vocals with Glenn Frey on a handful of great Eagles songs and with Randy Meisner on Saturday Night. Whoever was responsible for connecting Don and Patty, thanks for such a beautiful duet.
She’s amazing and Don Henley is a legend. She’s tennis player, John McEnroe’s wife. He asked her if he could sing with her, and she said, yah, when you ask me to be your doubles partner ( knowing she can’t play tennis) 😂
There was a time when I couldn't get through this song without breaking down. Thank you Lord, that now I can enjoy it for the fantastic song that it is.
Hi guys, wow that gave me chills! I haven't heard that song in a long time. It is beautiful and hauntingly sad. Don Henley was in the Eagles and in the 90's he did some solo albums and had some really great songs. Also he did medleys with several other performers. My favorite and I think you would like a lot , that he did with Trisha Yearwood is called "Walk Away Joe". It is a great story song with a powerful message. Trisha Yearwood is another amazing female performer who has a beautiful voice. Looking forward to more Patty Smyth too. You have been picking some good ones!
I heard that Eddie Van Halen asked her to join Van Halen at one time when David Lee Roth left. He saw something in her to be part of Van Halen. That says something about Patty Smyth!!
Patty, is married to John McEnroe. Yeah, that dude. Whom is also a very accomplished musician. They have at 3 kids together. Married since say least the early 90's
Both singers are so good. Love this song. Patty Smyth was offered the lead singer in Van Halen after David Lee Roth left. She turned it down. I'm glad she did because I love Sammy Hagar as the lead singer. Makes you wonder what it would have been like if she accepted the offer.
You guys need to react to the song 'That Old Flame' sung by Don Henley and Martina McBride. "Got a message in my mailbox From an old friend I hardly see All he said was you were tryin' To get in touch with me" I don't know if there is a live video of this. I think you guys will really like the duet.
Hi Shawn & Mel, you guys are so cute! Your facial expressions are genuine and hilarious. I don’t think either one of you two have anything to worry about tho! ❤️
Hey Shawn and Mel. Great choice I love this song so much!. You guys have reacted to Don Henley before..when you reviewed the Eagles music ❤️. Don Henley is one of their Lead Singers.
Don Henley did some albums by himself. I saw him in concert. A great show. The encode was Henley coming out in a white Tuxedo singing Hotel California. They switched it up to a tango beat. He was doing the tango with a beautiful woman in an evening gown. A very cool version
Was fortunate enough to see him open for Stevie Nicks. During Leather and Lace, they danced under the moonlight and it was ethereal. I've seen many concerts, that's still one of my favorite moments.
Danger in loving someone too much. It's the only way I know how, but honestly, I could take a weekly physical beating a hell of a lot easier than getting emotionally hurt once.
I also mispronounced her last name when I first got into her music, it's like having the word "eye" in place of the letter "I" in Smith. Not being snarky here, just thought you'd like to know. Beautiful song and wonderful lyrics! ☺️
I can’t believe anyone watches these “reaction” videos and respond the way they do. If you’ve lived in the US, and never heard this song until recently, there’s a problem.
I adore this song. ADORE.
Shawn & Mel, you'll love her "Goodbye to You" and "The Warrior" when she was in the group Scandal!!!

You're right Mel, her voice is beautiful. I haven't heard it in years. Don Henley is/was lead singer/Drummer for The Eagles.
Too bad Don turned into a jerk
The Eagles didn't really have a lead singer as they all sang. Glenn Frey was the closest they had to a lead though
The look on your faces when grasped the words in the beginning- PRICELESS 😂❤
Don Henley is the drummer for the EAGLES and also the singer
It is a great song. Thanks for the reaction video. You should try "You must not be drinking enough" Don Henley/ The Eagles
I can't stop watching this reaction. Best song I've ever heard in My Life,in my existence. I Love that, after hearing it again I kinda feel the Same
Absolutely LOVE this song!! They sing so well together. Thank you for the reaction!

"Love's got a line on you" by Patty Smyth with the band Scandal is a great Rock song, you'll love it.
Check out Don Henley's song "Heart Of The Matter".
Another broken relationship song that gets to you!
It's just Don, solo on this one.
Some of the best lyrics ever.
"What are these voices,
Outside love's open door,
That make us throw off our, contentment,
And beg for something more?"
Don Henley makes every song better.

Don Henley, End of the innocence. And so much more Boys of summer.
Her voice live would melt a person….She was in a group called Scandal.
Thank you both for doing this reaction. This song brings back many memories of my younger days. It was very popular back in the early 90's.
Patty Smyth, (with Scandal) is probably best know for her hit song "The Warrior"
My favorite song ever. The line where she sings, there beside u where i used to lay.. gets me every time

The 80’s created the most unique and amazing music.
I bought this CD back in the day just for this song. Its lyrics are so powerful!
This reaction was one the best!!!! You are beautiful people. 🙏
She’s amazing and Don Henley is a legend. She’s tennis player, John McEnroe’s wife. He asked her if he could sing with her, and she said, yah, when you ask me to be your doubles partner ( knowing she can’t play tennis) 😂

Fun fact: Patty is the wife of legendary tennis star John McEnroe.

Don Henley, legend with and without the Eagles Patty Smyth was the lead singer of Scandal and the tamer of bad boy John McEnroe!

80s and early 90s songs really hits different
Both singers are so good. Love this song. Patty Smyth was offered the lead singer in Van Halen after David Lee Roth left. She turned it down. I'm glad she did because I love Sammy Hagar as the lead singer. Makes you wonder what it would have been like if she accepted the offer.
If you've listened to the Eagles, you have probably heard Don Henley sing. He has wonderful solo hits with profound lyrics as well.
Her Greatest Hits album is AMAZING!! especially my favorite - Out There - her voice really soars...
This song! Wow! You all of course had to get to this one. It is fantastic!

Shawn and Mel, another beautiful version of this song is by Country artist - Travis Tritt and his 16 yr old daughter, Taylor.
Don Henley did some albums by himself. I saw him in concert. A great show. The encode was Henley coming out in a white Tuxedo singing Hotel California. They switched it up to a tango beat. He was doing the tango with a beautiful woman in an evening gown. A very cool version
