Not true. Patty sang back up on some of Don's songs, she asked him to listen to this song she co-wrote (lyrics) and he liked it so much he offered to sing on it with her. Took a few tries to get the right producer and band, but it was worth it. Beautiful! Don's wife is Sharon Summerall. He dated and thought abt marrying Stevie Nicks at one time, but they eventually called it quits.
The Pattie Smith Band was a decade before in 70s, Patty Smyth, hard Y, started as singer in Scandal band, about 4 hits of band, had all CDs, loved all her songs...then like many others before and after, Bosses just wanted the singer solo and band away. She had several albums, then her Greatest Hits has her best solo and Scandal songs, one of my favorite CDs! Goodbye to You was her first video on VH1, check it out..but have to know, after her first solo album, Van Halen lost their singer, Eddie Van Halen and his actress wife favorite song then was her solo song..Heartache Heard Round the World. He flew to New York from LA to meet her, and his first choice to replace as Van Halen singer. She went on Howard Stern many times interviewed, and told the story, and why she said NO! Sammy Hangar months later joined instead. She has been married to Tennis legend John McEnroe since 1997. She sings at home on UA-cam, and released a new album in 2020 at 63...still has it!
