OK. So we can only surmise that 45562 ALBERTA was running with 45627 SIERRA LEONE's smokebox number, or maybe SIERRA LEONE was running with ALBERTA's cab number. Either way nameplates were missing as was 45699 GALATEA. Or was that GALATEA running totally incognito? I'm confused. 🤔
I think it's become a bit of a joke. Poor Galatea has lost's it's identity big time, it's gone on for too long now and nobody seems bothered. Spoils the dream as it's so out of character for BR days.
@@johnjephcote7636 I totally agree, more especially when the owners can't be bothered to correct the fact that the smokebox number contradicts the cabside number, makes no sense at all.
@@rarerufus8864 All I can assume is that the sticky on numbers fell off the cabside, if so they have had plenty of time to make some more, but I may be wrong.
@@johnjephcote7636 I find it acceptable to do it on occasions, it's the closest we can get to bringing back memories of a long gone loco. What I don't find acceptable is the locos numbers not relating to their names as it would never have happened in BR days.
Total confusion, Sierra Leone was scrapped , so why is Galatea done up as Alberta , two Jubilee's survived and went into preservation Alberta and Leander both Leeds Holbeck engines , I think Galatea was a static museum piece brought back to steam last seen at Shildon it was LMS red, so question why is Galatea posing as two other Jubilee engines and where's Alberta i see whatever engine it is one is'nt with us anymore , is carrying the 55a shed code of Holbeck this engine is a piss take to spotters, great steam content though oh and i saw them all in the days before Beaching...
I saw 'The Mayor of Crewe' chalked by some wag upon a loco being cut up...back in the 1960s. Why not go the whole hog and invent something just as stupid? Hogwarts Castle is bad enough. I guess, in the end, the owners of an engine can do what they like with their property...
These steam locomotives had (and still have) a character and personality of their own. Great to see this vid. Thanks for sharing it.
Great unusual catch 😊
Absolutely amazing video! Great angles and steady shots, entertaining clips and loco locos. Keep it up!

@@trainsplanes I wont get photos due to low light but ill have a good time seeing it! Thanks!
A great occasion but SIERRA LEONE seemed to be suffering from a number identity crisis!! ... and I never saw 45699 ... more camouflage? 😉
Def a great occasion! (other than the dire weather!) 👍
Was this today? nice catch
Thanks - Yes, it was earlier today 👍
@@trainsplanes Were they part of a gala over the weekend? unusual to see steam movements on a Monday
I saw these on RTT and thought nothing of it!! I wish I’d known what it was
It’s annoying when it’s like that however they’ll always be something else to see over the next couple of days. 🤯🙏👍

I dislike this habit of constantly swapping identities.
