Thank you for the great review! I've owned the Kodak Mini 2 Retro, which is a 2x3 printer and its GREAT. I just purchased the Mini Shot 3 Retro after watching your review. Here is why this product is superior compared to other products in the market. 1. The film is extremely cheaper verses Instax and Polaroids. I think Kodak's is 30-40 cents per photo and it's a $1 a photo for Instax and Polaroid. This reason itself should be a reason why the Kodak 4PASS products beat any instant printers in the market. 2. The photo quality is incomparable with Instax or any Zink products. I believe it's also water resistant? 3. Unlike other analog products like Instax, the Kodak dye-sub camera printers are 2-in-1, meaning that it can also be connected with a phone to print photos that way. Yes, it does take 50 seconds or so to print a photo, but it takes an Instax or Polaroid photos several minutes to fully develop, so.. the Kodak 4PASS products are actually developing photos much faster.
@@jesusbuenrostro7671 They are both good! The only difference is the size of photos. The Mini 2 Retro prints 2x3 (2.1x3.4 inch to be exact), and the Mini 3 Retro prints 3x3inch square sized photos. So whichever size you will find it more useful! Enjoy the awesome product, I still love them.
Chris, if I can make a recommendation, as you're talking about the backside of the camera, you should have an Over-The-Shoulder shot so we can see what exactly it is that you're talking about
Ima be completely honest I just want a portable printer lol i do not mind taking the photo with my phone and just printing it. I’ve seen a comparison of this Kodak with other brands and I feel that it was the best printing quality for what it is. The colors are more accurate. I think I might buy it :)
The quality is awesome from these and for the price I'm sold. I bought the stand alone printer though - I think the camera version is pointless with insane cell phone cameras today.
Good review of this camera. In Europe it’s also available as the Agfaphoto Realpix. Kodak has also a minishot that uses smaller paper and these products are also available as a printer only. These dye sublimation devices give better quality photos when compared to Zink based products. I can see a market for these types of devices. These are digital, no problem, but it would have been nice when used as a digital instant camera there’s was a saving of the digital file on a memory card, just my two cents.
I think the fact that it doesn't store photos kind of hurts it because it's not quick enough for instant photography. I feel like it puts this camera in a weird spot. Especially considering they're already a ton of bluetooth photo printers and instant cameras. I don't see anything that really sets it apart from anything I already have, polaroid hi print and instax instant cameras.
There's the handsome guy! The printing process itself doesn't like heat or cold. I have the stand alone printer and it's super sensitive to temperature.
I'm buying this camera for use during delivery driving. I deliver to auto dealers, and overtime the dealers become complacent to the fact that a 60' big rig comes into their dealer overnight and they leave cars or things laying around that sometimes prevent delivery. This camera would allow me to take a snapshot of a problem and then leave the image with the dealer.
I kinda like the concept, but I already have a Instax Mini bluetooh printer and dig it ... on the other hand dye sub is an amazing process. I have dye sub prints I made in the 90s that are still vibrant!!!

I was waiting for this review!!! So thank you so much 😊 I like the design but the features seem quite limited even if my first concern is to get a square format printer. Do you think it’s a good printer or should i get the instax share sp3 instead? Or maybe the canon selphy square QX10 🤔 i can’t decide….
Just depends on what your style is. Do like film or paper? Film is more expensive than paper so there’s a few factors. I prefer film but that’s not everyone’s favorite.
Thanks! Ive put all my Instax cameras on the shelf for now because Im tired of blurry and/or crappy underexposed photos. Have both Fuji and Lomo cameras and neither do well for portraits because of the ISO 800 speed film which I hate. Maybe time for an SX70 and some 160 film! Anyhow, I ordered one of these because it looks cool, photos look good, love the square format and its way cheaper than Instax film. I disagree about The Who Song sign shot at 6:10 though. The shot from your phone has that super fake HDR look, the shot from the camera looks much better IMO. Thanks.

So how long does it take to print the photo? Thinking of using it on a Disney trip. Take the picture as soon as we walk up, print as we visit, and then have them sign the photo on the way out? Does that seem possible?
So my Olde Canon PowerShot 15 can do a better job and have 4X6 inch prints at the local drugstore for less than this "Kodak" Dye-Sublimation camera/printer? I have been using the Kodak Mini Shot 3 for over a month now. What is annoying me is when I take photos driectly with the camera why does anything near a white background or daylight hitting from the side of a shot always nearly comes out like a burn out, and ruins the the shot. Anyone experienced this? Any ideas how to stop that? I have tried the apps fpr this camera but they fail. Thanks :)
The old version of the app (Kodak Instant Printer) will let you download the last picture you took, or activate the shutter and save the pic. (At least in the Android version). The newer software (Kodak Photo Printer) does not have this functionality. You can only do this with one photo at a time. It only holds one pic at a time. There is no storage. There is no SD card.
