I love that part of the reason Sean started a second account was to demonstrate that his success wasn't a fluke. That's it's more about good planning, being prepared, and knowing the rules. People are still getting accounts banned because they don't read and/or comprehend KDPs rules. I like Sean's clarity about what to do and not do.
Hey, thanks so much for watching and commenting.
Thanks for having me on Dale! Had a great time catching up
You bet! Let's do it again soon, buddy.
Sean's channel has a lot of valuable information, from publishing habits to investments. I can totally relate to his frugal habits. He has a calm delivery in his videos and you can tell he's methodical and thoughtful. Thanks for doing this interview!
He tried walking away from his channel numerous times early on, and I kept telling him NOT to leave it. Now, he's hooked. haha
So many great nuggets in your interview Dale with Sean...been following him for years on his UA-cam Channel.. he is the real deal! Thanks
Nice, I'm glad you enjoyed it.
Great one Sean! But it seems you are shy of looking at the camera. One of the mistakes I make during my early publishing was pointed out by Sean. I was jumping from one niche to another changing pen names like a changer (lol). But since last year, I am focusing on one niche and one pen name, and I am seeing great returns. Thanks Dale for this interview.
Nothing wrong with shyness. Some people find it to be an attractive or nice trait. Plus it's kind of annoying to stare directly into a tiny cam. Having separate pen names for niches is definitely smart!
@@breath888 yeah you are right. Initially, I was having different pen names under a single niche (about four), but I stopped it when I discovered that having a pen name in a niche will make you an authority in it and generate more money in return.
Sean is a good dude and was an easy interview. Glad you watched.
Wow. Purchasing his course Asap😅
Nice! Sean is a good dude; I'm sure you'll enjoy his course.
@@selfpubwithdale unfortunately they don't coach fiction 🥲
Look into Jeanne De Vita. I worked with her for over a year in fiction coaching and she was phenomenal! She’s a second generation author, an award-winning UCLA Writing & Editing Instructor, and Top Faved Kindle Vella author (aka Callie Chase). Check her out at Book-Genie.com. Tell her I sent you! I believe she still offers a complementary consult to make sure it’s a good fit.
What 'topics' were the books about in first account or the second acccount.
For the first account, I would assume an NDA came along with his no compete agreement. As the second account, pop onto Sean's channel and ask him. I do know, for sure, it's nonfiction.
Wow! Great interview! Had to bookmark the site. Kids will need it in the future.
Oh, yeah! Smart thinking.
This is fantastic!!!👏👏👏
Thank you!
Great interview, interesting to see a different side of publishing.
Yes! I've always found Sean to be a good dude with an interesting story. He's been through some pretty crazy stuff since jumping into this business.
❤❤❤❤I couldn’t click on this fast enough!!!
haha Nice!
I enjoyed this interview ❤Is there a reasonable marketing strategy where by you are paying for ads but it's not eating your profit 🤔
Sadly, as with all marketing, there's always a risk of eating into your profit. Anyone who tells you they have the perfect solution actually means, "I have the perfect solution for myself that MIGHT work for you."
So @Sean Dollwet what exactly is the fun part of just selling books you didn't write? Or did you do it mostly to make money?
It's a business to him, the same way it is to any trad pub company. Not all self-publishers need to be passionate about the craft in order to be invested in the business.
@selfpubwithdale yeah so I'm curious what his motivations behind it are. It's just such an alien thing to me to sell ghostwritten books that I'm trying to understand it better.
It's a good question to ask since a lot of authors would rather admonish him for his work. But, his work is no different than what trad pub companies do. It's merely a business decision. I'll be getting Sean to come on again in the near future to discuss more about his philosophies on publishing. In the meantime, pop onto his channel and drop that question. I'm sure he'd be happy to answer.
Great interview, thanks Dale!
Glad you liked it!
Appreciate the detailed info. (Fun seeing you 2 together) Thanks guys!
I'm grateful for the kind words and support.
Good video
Glad you enjoyed
