There is a quote you reminded me of while doing your meeting: "If you want a difficult task done efficiently and creatively, give it to the laziest person in the room."
Hey DAN, I am sonu ,just wanted to drop a quick message to say how super excited I am about your videos! Your content always brings so much joy and knowledge. Can't wait to see what you have in store for us this time. Keep being amazing! 🎉📺 Loads of love brother❤
I am currently writing unit tests in Django, and to take a break from it, I open UA-cam, only to find you're also in the midst of writing tests. motivation for me
Primarily a "backend engineer" here. Ouch Dan! That hit pretty hard, but is totally on point. I steered clear of frontend because I tend to get OCD on every little design element like what color the button should be, or how much radius I should add to the corners, etc. At least with backend, I'm not worrying about prettying something up; it's just logic I have to worry about, which is a lot more manageable for me.
Hi Dan. Just discovered your channel. I am also a SWE based in the US, looking for my first full time role as a developer (backend or frontend doesn't matter to me). Love your content thus far and can't wait to see you continue to grow. Instant sub
Sucesso 😃
It's funny... I've worked in finance/IT roles for more than ten years in both Sydney and Melbourne.. I now work completely remotely about 20mins from the beach. I watch videos like this one because I kinda miss being able to be surrounded by the city. Also, for dev stuff, I'm a Python guy and build foreign exchange trading bots in my spare time. As for testing frameworks, just test in production ;)
Your videos are really amazing 🥲, not saying this just for like u know like randomly but legit the videos are really cool, and I myself can relate to it more as am a CSE too :') 🔥
Hey Dan, Love your videos man, an aspiring software engineer this side, could you please let us know from which college did you pursue ur cs? Or maybe make a seperate video for how to become a Software engineer. roadmap!!
to add to that @0:58 most interviews and such, idk but they require an overly engineered solutions to their questions, like if you present them with a simple solutions it seemed that they are not that impressed by it, i'm not saying that a person with masters degree can beat other individuals without any CS, CE, or IT degree but from my point of view and own experience there are individuals out there with no degree or perhaps reached an undergrad status and they are way more skilled on hands on development than with such pedigree, just saying been there done that.
May I know which earphones you use? Are those AirPods? Are they good for video calls? I'm looking for one right now, but not sure which one is good for video calls (crisp voice not robotic, noise cancellation, wireless, etc). Currently using Poly Blackwire 5220. The quality is good, but it's wired, and kinda HUGE.
Hello! Could you make surface pro review video? I would like to know more about this device. Why didn't you install any linux OS? Do you use touchscreen or it's one of useless features?
What's your salary if you don't mind me asking. You got nice monitors, XBOX Series X, Smart TV, Gaming chair and all these things and it got me thinking how much your salary is. Also I want to become a Full-Stack software engineer so what are some tips or advice you have for me and what programming language I should use.
Brother how is the hiring process for software engineers in Australia? I only have 2 years exp and working for a startup as a one man team 😂 I wanna gamble on Australia.
"backend developers have a tendendancy to over-engineer things" bro the reason is the front-end guy's wants doesnt necessarily make it easy for the guy who has to clean up the mess. it might seem over-engineered but over-engineering is necesary lmao.
Hey Dan I am currently 27 years old (28 this year) and I am thinking of pursuing a CS degree next year. Do you think it’s too late in my life to start a new career in tech
@@tengsoccer nice man good luck! I have been getting my mathematics up to scratch and starting learning C. Has been tough with a little one and full time work
