What may have been missed is how fast the 3-D Maneuver Gear really is. It’s been slowed down considerably for us to follow. But this scene shows us how fast it really is - cause Berholt should’ve seen Erwin coming from every angle. He had the the advantage of height, was pinned by Titans, and had The Armored covering most blind spots Even with Armin distracting them with reverse psychology - all 3 enemy titan changers (2 in Titan form) should’ve seen Erwin coming His horse didn’t get directly beneath him for him to land on The horses are not exactly silent Yet Erwin not only anchored, but flew at such a speed you blink and you missed the point of impact of his attack. It was that fast
