I love how just about all of these reactors are silent through the last half of the speech. They're just completely enamored and engaged by his words, the same as the recruits. Such a great scene.
I have watched this scene and heard this speech for hundreds of time until now and i still get chills all over each time . I sincerely hope for myself that I never ever get used to this scene . Also as a student of history and coming from a land which has seen massive bloodshed due to invasions , this is one of the best piece of historical realism ever portrayed in the history of visual arts . I am just thankful that it exists .
This really shows you how AOT is more realistic compared to life, when they said "there's a chance he'll be fine" or "he's going to survive", it goes to show you how much other animes give a child-like optimism in such scenes but AOT really showcase how much truth & pain there is when there's really no other option

I’m so glad I stopped watching aot for 4 years. I got to catch up and it was such a rollercoaster of emotions and I love the story
