Mercedes Moné Reveals Why She Left WWE + Addresses Being an Unsafe Wrestler

- On Thursday, June 27, 2024 before her big match up over the past weekend, superstar wrestler Mercedes Moné stopped by Hot 97 to talk to Nessa about her matchup with Stephanie Vaquer. She talked about going to Mexico to slap Stephanie in the face and also talked about how she prepared by watching matches and studying tape.
They also talk about her role in revolutionizing women's wrestling, being inspired by the wrestler Eddie Guerrero, to overcoming family doubts. She also revealed why she left WWE for AEW, what exactly drew her to AEW, and how hurt she was regarding comments of being an unsafe wrestler.
The interview also explores Mercedes' personal interests, including her love for crystals, her intuition, and how she calls her cousin Snoop Dogg for advice. The conversation wraps up with rapid fire questions that reveal her desire for the superpower of teleportation, the key to a successful marriage, and her favorite design from her costume-designing husband.

Listen, never disliked her. She thought she was good. My only issue was her wanted to get paid top money when her run she was mostly injured, and when she left and went to NJPW within a few months, she got injured. I have said if she stays free from injury, she can do something, and I see her having a good run.
