@@Jackson-oz3rp the only shanty that isn't immediately available is the pirate legend shanty, every other shanty in the game is immediately playable
When we play Becalmed, I always like to have my friends give the banjo a solo from 17:11 to 17:27 then we all join in again. It sounds really nice.

Subbed, just cuz I had a stream where we had 7-8 people play only Becalmed.
They were once our enemies, locked in an endless spiral of death. We would encounter each other over and over again. Both our crews lived in the same region, so often we would find one another on the same server. First they sank us, then we returned the favor. This went on for almost 3 months.
We agreed to band together just once for the sake of peace through music. We then decided to go for the Fort of The Damned, and together we defeated it. Since then we have stayed in contact for a long time.

I just started to play SoT today and learnt that music can be played by each ship member/crews that got me hooked on this game. Knowing that I'm unable to play all sea shanties all by my self I decide to find all song in YT and yet I found your comment.

It's incredible how this game full of drunk pirates and random fun stuff can bring such emotional beats such as riding the waves at sundown while playing Songs like who shall not be returning with your friends and the splash of the ocean in the background
I'm surprised this doesn't have more views honestly, it's the best compilation of SoT shanties out there

Playing these tracks just easily put a smile on my face.They reminds me all of my memories,showing the scenes that I’ve sailed with my very best fellas,the times when I and my gangs hit and missed shots,fighting aside each other then gather loads of treasures both by digging&solving or rob them.Such a beautiful game and memories

To everyone that loves 1812, it's great if the drum player switches to guns and gives lead to the banjo at the finale of the song.
After all the best versions of 1812 have cannonshots in them.
But I have to say you guys did a great job on all the songs too!
While playing you can ring the bell of the mast and it add something beautiful to the music

one of the many reasons i love sea of thieves, after taking down a giant enemy ship and finding the treasure chest, we are on our way to an outpost to sell our loot, and one of us pulls up a song and we all get into it

Becalmed has to be my absolute favorite. Played it first after I invaded a hostile sloop and in the storm I just grabbed the hurdy gurdy and let that song play in the crow's nest. Until I got shot xD

Does anyone else feel like Stitcher is basically the Anakin Skywalker of The Sea of Theives universe? He betrayed the pirate code to lead way for a schism in the “force” or way life in the Sea of Thieves, in this case bringing about the corporal influence of Flameheart and his armies/emissaries to the seas, the antagonists of specifically the Pirate lord and his Athenas Fortune pirate legends. But also the rest of the seas (cause they evil) In the real world there really was a kind a code among pirates not to raid eachother, only the navies or governing countries and trade ships, also burial sites. He betrayed his own, tried to redeem himself then became a monster in service of his master, then ultimately might try redeem himself in the future out of guilt because maybe he’s a good person at heart.

I almost always do that, especially if I’m playing with my friend. And I once played with another crew on a galleon that did the same thing. Maybe it was always a thing or it grew in popularity over time?

Stitchers Sorrow and Becalmed are so good.
I have a strange but endearing memory of swimming deep into the ocean playing stitchers sorrow on whatever the hand-crank instrument is until I eventually drowned. Idk if it was the underwater effect on the music, the fading light into the depths, or my eventual demise at the bottom of the ocean, but just remembering that gives me chills. Would highly recommend lol.
Stitcher's sorrow is my favorite. Used to play it with my old crew to keep them entertained when sailing or stockin up on supplies it made the less action packed moments feel less dull.
Maiden Voyage and Bosun Bill are definitely my two favorite songs.

my friend and I stood up on top of the mast, while we played the stitches sorrow, seeing our boat in flames underneath us as it finally sunk
Playing becalm with your friends while completely silent is one of the most bonding experiences you can have in this game
idk why, but who shall not be returning is my favourite.
I like how it’s all the happy/upbeat songs, then becalmed, which is supposed to be sad but more peaceful is played as the sun goes down but at night it’s the more sad/scary songs like who shall not be returning and seek the dead

Sometimes I play the sad songs and think of the times when I played with my childhood friends. Good times
I think you guys should have your own special sails in the game that only you can use because this is epic.
Being a solo pirate is nice to have this to be able to hear brings so much more mmf to my gameplay

try playing it with one friend while shipwrecked on an island in The Devil's Roar
Thats the only song we would play while making long sails. Sounds great with just 2 instruments. Adds to the loneliness. Especially just lead banjo and whistle.

I literally bought SOT yesterday, got ingame, accidentally equipment a hurdy gurdy and started playing music endlessly till my buddy had a mental breakdown.
I caused my cousin to turn off the shanty music
I chase my friends around while playing happy birthday on the hurdy gurdy.
I even got my character really drunk and started playing it so it was out of tune, but they threw me in the brig :(

Watchin the sunrise in Sea of Thieves and playing music with your Crew, is one of the best things you can do. This game has a very beautiful Design, just Love it.

Then a ship apeard from behind, shooting our ship apart, and as we sank, we heard "who shall not return" from the ship disapearing in to the nigth

I like hearing all the instruments lead and backup together except for the drum. I find the whistling to be quite annoying when other instruments are playing the chorus

i think it adds to the true nature of a shanty, it isnt a composure piece, its a bunch of potentially drunk men playing a song
It only really works in a couple shanties, like in summon the megalodon it's great, but in bosun bill or grogg mayles it's annoying
I'm used to cheery whistles and kinda like them. The newer Rayman Games have a similar whistly laid back vibe, I love it
