@Cillary Hlinton no
You realized your video about México got traction and couldnt resist going at it again don't you? 😆
As an offensively mexican man, I can tell you... relax my dear white folks... That joke was juan of a kind.
I laughed at this comment so hard lol
You señor, juan the comment of the day.
Ok that juan was so hilarious 🤣
I love this juan
It's a juan of a kind comment.
Imagine not being able to tell the difference between cringe and violence, let alone the difference between humor and violence.
I mean, there’s humor mixed in, but this is more just them being ignorant of mexican culture. Which isn’t a bad thing, they’re half a world away, not like they should be expected to know, but the main thing is that WE find it funny, so it’s fine.
@@AhHereWeGo Fair, that episode did have some humorous bits thrown into the mix. But I do feel like it could have been done better. Like Brett, I blame the producers for that.
You don’t hear people who’ve experienced real violence complaining about this.
@@timwideman8824 No you do not, and the ones that are complaining have too much free time on their hands.
@@meleebrawler6462 it's the same old, same old. People looking for something to be outraged over.
I have witnessed real violence. I grew up in the middle of a civil war. I have been standing feet away from several bombs when detonated. Have someone put a bomb in your father's car, have your life threatened as a child and see if you can still call this violence!
Honestly, the most offensive thing in the show was the hate crime they committed against that poor avocado. :(
NOOOOOOO NOT THE Avocado
I don’t even LIKE avocado, and even I was appalled

Im not Mexican, I’m Salvadorian. But this episode had dying of laughter.
as a mexican this was hilarious i aint offended at all😂😂
Same here I love offensive humor, I think it all depends on the intent
The Barrio stands with you
THANK YOU!
as another mexican, I only cringed
not as much as hearing people refer to us as “latinx” tho
Same however if only they wore traditional authentic Mexican clothing that would be sick!!🔥🔥🔥
I've never wanted to watch the Great British Bake-off more than I do now.
Do it, it’s actually pretty fun.
This is literally the first time I've ever heard of the Great British Bake-Off, but suddenly it sounds fun.
I would suggest starting off with the celebrity versions. It's done for charity. Usually a lot of comedians take part and it doesn't require as much of a commitment as the regular series. It's had me in tears with laughter many times.
@@LetholdusKaspyr It's just a sully little show about British celebrities competing in a baking competition for charity. It's good if you want to switch off for a while.
It’s worth it
Mexico isn't a race, it's a country. Making fun of Mexicans is no different than making fun of Russians, Americans, Canadians, Germans, Frenchies, or whatever.
Even worse than that. Mexican isn’t an ethnicity either. Russia is mostly ethnic Russian. Germany is full of ethnic Germans related genetically to one another. But Mexico is an immigrant country like the US or Canada. There are many races there and many ethnicities. Salma Hayek is 100 percent Mexican even though genetically she is 50 percent Lebanese and 50 percent Spanish. One can be full Nahuatl and Mexican or all of African heritage.
Ironically, the same people who would be offended by someone saying that an American with Asian heritage “isn’t a real American” is perfectly fine with assuming that all Mexicans look alike. It’s ignorance and narcissism at its worst.
Man… grouping in Mexico with all the other Caucasian countries is kind of a tragic reminder that there’s more white and mixed people than there is indigenous
@Quota Yes. If 90% of the natives were wiped out by disease or subjugation, and Spanish immigrants had higher standards of living and socioeconomic status, then it stands to reason that the Latin American population would be mostly Spanish. Spain is in Europe, they're white/caucasoid just like italians
@@SpecialEDy yeah, I’m well aware of the Spanish colonizers
@@quota3734 so… I'm confused, I'm or I'm not white?
Im Mexican, I know about which countries my ancestors come from and my skin tone is similar to that or Antonio Banderas so…
I would be considered white even if I have some indigenous nahua and moorish ancestors?
This whole thing about races and skin colors in the USA is so fucking confusing.
Honestly, if I was doing a British week in a baking show, I'd 100% have a musket on me dressed in 1800s military suit with a giant white wig.
As a Brit i would find this hilarious.

As a Mexican, I thought they were hilarious
Bro the contestants just seemed genuinely confused and curious about the foods they had to cook. Nothing but good times here😉👍🏼
I grew up in a majority mexican school system and I can tell you, they do not care about this stuff at all, they have better things to worry about than a tv show episode that makes lighthearted jokes
The irony is that TGBBS has featured many different weeks of many different cultural cuisines including Dutch week and German week and French week and Italian week. All similar jokes and caricatures relative to the culture have been made and nobody made a fuss. Hmmm I wonder why that is...😜
Exactly. They caricature cultures all the time.
The Japanese week was ridiculous honestly. Brits have a much better understanding of Chinese cooking than anything Japanese, so you saw that come out pretty strongly. Some of the bakers were more into it than others; like Lotte made a jiggle cake which became popular in Japan in the last few years.
cause we don't care?
@@erinlikesacornishpasty4703 I watched that episode. One of them made an American-inspired hamburger Japanes cake. It was absolutely silly.

There aint nothing wrong with this show. People these days cant even tell the difference between humour and actual racism.
As a Mexican American this was hilarious 😂 the only offensive part was what they did to that avocado 😂
Lol even gringos that know shit about cooking would know how to peel the aguacate.
I think they would have done better if they just baked something, it is called a bake off. I did try to watch the clips but it was so cringy
As a Mexican no this isn't offensive it's hilarious
Honestly, the fact that Great British Bake off had the balls to make those jokes at all makes me a lot more interested in watching the show
I'm still probably not going to watch it, but hats(sombreros?) off to them for not being too afraid of the woke mob to make those jokes!
@Kate Moore It is? Interesting! I never would have guessed, based on how woke Dr Who has gotten😅
If the UK is indeed becoming more of a free-for-all, that's awesome!
Britts are funny AF when dealing with cultures they have absolutely no knowledge of hahaha. I would love to watch a mexican cooking show where everyone has to make a British meal. It would be beyond hilarious!
I think the common ground between a Mexican breakfast and a full English 'brekkie' would be the use of beans, so at least they have that common ground.

The bald guy is Matt Lucas he used to be in a show called Little Britain (but it's not easy to find anywhere to watch it anymore it's been banned by the woke brigade).

As a latina...I laughed several times. The joke was that the bakers knew nothing about Mexico...
Finally, someone gets it. Nobody beats the Brits for subtle self-deprecating humour.

The transition to advertisement is next level 3:02

That good ranchers ad was nice lol
I lived in the UK for about 18 months while my husband was getting an advanced degree. I have a lot of Tex-Mex and New Mexican "back pocket recipes, but my favorite is fajitas. Trying to get anything to make fajitas with was actually challenging. I probably could do better now because I am a better cook, so I can make more from raw ingredients than I could then. But Mexican food is very difficult to find at a restaurant in the UK. They probably have some in London, and one time I ate a good burrito at a pub in Scotland, but in general people in the UK don't understand Mexican cuisine at all. They know that people eat tacos because companies like El Paso have marketed thier taco kits pretty successfully, but that's about it. Honestly I was impressed they chose the conchas as one of the challenges, because I only learned about conchas a few years ago and it's an interesting baked good. But the taco challenge was more about the tortillas and the tres leches cake was a terrible challenge because Paul Hollywood required it be a stacked and tiered cake, which was setting the bakers up for failure. Tres leches is best as a sheet cake. And the taco challenge was sort of silly because even the judges, who are really well travelled and accomplished bakers, kept calling the tortilla a "taco", like they couldn't even remember that the baked element is the tortilla, not the filling. I did appreciate the episodes of the GBBO when Mel or Sue would tell us about the history and cultural significance of whatever baked goods were made, but since the GBBO was bought by Love Productions and isn't a BBC show anymore, they focus more on silly skits than education. I do hope that at least some English people learned that conchas are a new kind of baked good they could make around Easter 🤷♀️.
Mexican people should come to the UK and make good restaurants! People here eat chilli and fajitas so often, we would love it 🇬🇧🇲🇽
@Michelle oh my god Mexican restaurants could do spicy beans on toast for breakfast.
Perhaps we'll get more Mexican restaurants here because vegetarian/veganism's gone up. Here's hoping 🤞🌯

I went to London once. One of the things that surprised me was that they had all kinds of European, Asian, and Middle Eastern restaurants, but not a single Mexican restaurant anywhere we went. There just isn't nearly as much Mexican immigration in the UK as we get here in the states. It's not racism, it's just demographics.
