You should also mention his symphony, western classical tracks from India and International scores like Beyond the Clouds, Pele, Viceroy's House, 127 Hours, Muhammad, etc. His Tamil soundtrack Kochadiyan is a great example of blending western symphony with Indian, Carnatic
Followed him for 30 years and your take is spot on. He is not afraid of failure but also knows over time his fan base is patient when listening to his songs, which grow on you slowly.
Hi, I am listening a r rahman sir music for almost 30 years. your explanation about his music gave me a new perspective and my respect for A R Rahman increases. Thanks
You never fail to fascinate and enthrall, Lidia. Your listening analytics rises to the composers' genius on every occasion and enhances a lay listener's appreciation of nuances not immediately apparent. Bravo!
The way you gave dissected ARR range and genres is really impressive. I’m a huge fan of ARR since the day Roja music came out. I’m of the opinion that ARR is a universe of music. My respect for you for describing ARR. 🙏🏻🙏🏻
Bumped into your channel after a long time.. Rather than plain piano, Happy to see you doing some serious talking about the works that's go behind each music composers works.. 💕😍
Very nice video. Proud a.r.r fan here. Very nice narration. You have a vast knowledge of music which makes you accept all kind of music. Which made me his hardcore fan.
Loved the Vedio, much liked the way you ended it. Since I got a Walkman, I was 6 or 7 his music gone deeper in me. There is a never a day goes by with out remembering this amazing human being called Rahman and his music in my life . Hope you enjoyed DHEERA song from COBRA .
Your evaluation gives the impression that Rahman consciously went for different styles and genres. I don't think that's how it works for him. What I think is that he has this vast knowledge of everything musical (which he is constantly improving upon) and from which he draws upon without any preconceived ideas, but depending on the movie and its situations. He probably starts with a meditational state, that is with a blank slate without any end in mind, and then adds the elements organically, so to speak, drawing as I said from his knowledge and combining with the movie's or filmmaker's requiremements. He doesn't set any goals. So each time the composition turns out fresh. He doesn't set any deadline either but works on the composition to fine tune it and perhaps also add embellishments until every part sounds right. .
Hi Lidia - this was such a succinct summing up of ARR’s incredible journey in film music from the 90s till now. The ability to try new styles and experiment irrespective of outcome speaks of strength of character! India must indeed be most grateful for the presence of such luminaries! Maybe you could perhaps deconstruct some songs when time permits ?
Listen to Pakshirajan Story of 2.0 (film) soundtrack. He creates theme for world of birds blend with the emotions that narrating the film sequence perfectly even without dialogue elaboration. Personally, for me it is standard level of original score for The Last Samurai and Avatar.
Hi Lidiya, most songs you choose are pre2005, his first , one and half decade is amazing.. I guess His team with Late Mr.Sridhar and Harris Jayaraj in those times, kept the tune and music for all ears.. then starts his alien era, where music is very advanced then layman mind can't grasp the depth of music until multiple repeats and forcing themselves to get drenched in the nuances of his genius but he definitely lost some consistency in each album expect on Maniratnam album. But I see his music more to masses (layman version) in the lockdown era.. still I just miss the fun element of chikku bukku railu, thirupaachi aruvala kind..
@@LidiaKotlovaPianoStudio that's True, but Beethoven didn't make music for films which need commerical success as well 😊 indeed the progressive mind of Rahman pushed others to catch up and something interesting on their own and add to the cultural enrichment

No comparison here
I dont like AR Rahman songs. Its loud noisy and LOOK AT ME stuff. I like soulful Illayaraja songs only
