- In this Sims comparison video, I'm comparing Woohoo in Sims 1 vs. Sims 2 vs. Sims 3 vs. Sims 4. The game has come a long way when it comes to woohoo. It started with "playing in bed" in the original game, and now we have woohoo spots all over the world, elders who can die from too much strenuous activity, and lots of really nice animations.
I love aspects of woohoo from all the Sims games. The Sims 2 has great animations and those special, cinematic cut-scenes. The Sims 3 has TONS of places your Sims can woohoo, all with special animations. The Sims 4 makes it easier than ever for your Sims to get down and dirty - plus elders can die and teens can mess around. There's a lot to love in all the games. Which woohoo features do you like best?

Ahh The Red Plumbob. I love their videos. Perfect for someone who wants to see how the games evolved over time. Or for someone who didn't play the games through their childhood like me.
I remember as a kid not knowing how to turn off the cutscenes in the sims 2 being so afraid of my parents walking in to the computer room and seeing my sims woohooing 😅😅
Lmao! I think that made for awkward situations for many kids!
I always did shut down the monitor until the cutscene ended 😂
Yeah no joke the first time the cutscene happened I panicked and rushed off to the bathroom to hide and hope that if someone saw they would assume the game did it its self XD (poor little 10 yo me)

no game has beaten the sims 2's animations, not just for woohoo, for literally anything. The lever of care for the animations in TS2 has not yet been matched.
I couldn't agree more. It's such a shame that The Sims 4 doesn't even have 1/5 of the amount of character, personality and depth The Sims 2 has..
Ugh tell me about it. It makes it seem so much more lifely and realistic like when cooking, they would reach in the draws and grab stuff out and actually opening the car doors and driving away. 😭😭
@@spiritchi24 the thing that bugs me the most is (and this applies to both Sims3 and 4) how in colloquial or romantic interactions, they have to restart the animation everytime with a jarring cut between two animations. In TS2 the animations flowed much better and it wasn't as jarring.
@@mygetawayart so true. The gap inbetween social interactions is just so jarring. Especially when Sims 4 has simulation lag it will be 10 Sim minutes before they move onto the next interaction. Hopefully The Sims series can regain the glory days in the future

Would be nice to see a video going over all the NPC's the Sims 2 had that didnt appear in later games. The therapist, the exterminator, santa etc. The SIms 2 is so freaking good man
"Santa" does appear in Sims 4 he's just called "Father Winter".

Closet woohooing helped my Sims 2 college sims have a fun time without craming a full size bed in their dorm. Lol
Also elevator woohooing has become a staple every time my sims visit the shopping malls I build. I think it's funny that the elevator dings when they're done.
On a side note, you can get away with cheating in Sims 2 dorms as long as the door is closed, even if a romantic partner is right outside the door. Because of the unique privacy properties of college dorms which blacks out each bedroom until you enter it is also applied to uncontrolled sims I guess? College is a great time for romance sims.
I used to play Sims 2 on the ps2 and wondered why they had a heart bed called the vibromatic when it didn't even vibrate, now it makes so much more sense lol!
Lol! I never knew it was on the ps2 version! But yeah, it doesn't appear to vibrate unless the Sims get in it on Sims 1.
I loved the ps2 version! I have no idea what setting it was, but whenever I had Sims woohoo my CONTROLLER would actually vibrate! It was very unsettling the first time it happened.... 😆

My sims got kicked out from the theatre because they did woohoo 😂 They appeared naked in the front of the theatre with a moodlet if I remember correctly.
Pretty sure that happened to me once, they weren’t naked but they had an embarrassed moodlet because they got caught backstage. It’s been several years since that happened though so it’s very possible they were naked in front of the theatre
I remember being scared that my mom would walk in when the Sims 2 woohoo cut scene came up. Good times. 😂

I’m pretty sure woohoo in the sims 4 can be autonomous but it’s extremely rare. I’ve had it ONCE when I was playing with the Akiyama family, I was focusing on one of the kids and I saw the parents do the excited woohoo dance and I went to check what they were doing and they actually went up to their bedroom and did it.
I’m also on console so there’s no chance it was a mod.
That’s the only time I’ve ever seen it though. I assume both parties have to be very flirty or something
Hmm...interesting! I've never seen it happen and as far as I know, it's not supposed to. But maybe there is a rare chance!

i think it’s the best in the sims 2, idk i just have to many memories of having my sim relax in a bed or hot tub and then ask another sim to join… and then cuddle… and then you know what ! i think i just like the journey… also the cutscenes, BRING BACK THE CUTSCENES ! i remember having to leave the room when playing in front of family bcs i didn’t want them knowing what i was doing🤣🤣

Man those Sims 2 cutscenes. When I was a kid, I ALWAYS looked around to see if anyone was around before I made 2 sims woohoo.
the woohoo cut scene on the hot tub looks like a game from a brazillian tv show called "banheira do gugu" lol but I love it!
you forgot to mention that in sims 3 (with university) you can send a "flirty" text to a sim youre romantically involved with and if theyre in the mood, theyll come over, woohoo and then leave. a neat little thing without having to deal with a date or inviting them over to get them in the mood.
I liked the Sims 2 animations too; I like the Sims 3 locations; and the ease of doing it in the Sims 4. But who did it the best? Erm... I think I'd have to go with the Sims 2 overall for three reasons: 1. Animations (of course. lol), 2. Memories, and 3. Consequences. Sims 3 is a close 2nd, though.
I also don't know if "quality of life" is always better. I find the additional effort to put into the things in sims 2 more engaging. Like having to clean up diapers, having to actually put some effort into building relationships and suffering some actual consequences if you mess is up.

By the way, you're one of my favorite Sims youtubers. Your streams are like the only ones I continually watch, and I think a big part of it is that your gameplay style keeps things from getting boring or predictable.

My favorite thing about the Sims 3 photo booth woohoo is the reactions to the photos taken.
My favorite sim woohoo has to be the photo booth in the Sims 3. After the woohoo is over a picture will pop out and one of the sims will grab it, look shocked and embarrassed, and then rip the picture.
I should've, but I didn't realize The Sims 3 list of places to Woohoo was that long 😂

In The Sims 2 your sims not always have to be in love to woohoo. I was so suprised when my sims were able to do it in a closet with their relationship not being very developped and they only had that "pink heart" although they were not in love ;) and after woohoo love didn't appear lol
One of them needs to be in love. Only crush wont happen unless if the another one is in love
What I love about the woohoo cutscenes in Sims 2 is how you got different perspectives depending on where the sim was sitting on the bed/hot tub. So the cutscene for someone on the left side of the bed/hot tub would be a different angle (almost a mirror of) than if they were sitting on the right.
It would've been so easy to do only one angle, and (correct me if I'm wrong) but that doesn't happen with other cutscenes, like proposal or first kiss.
(I also had no idea that you could woohoo in rabbit holes in Sims 3)
In the Sims 2 if the sim being cheated on is asleep they won't know they are being cheated on. I tested that several times, LOL
Hahah, the one thing about the Sims that made you look over your shoulder cautiously as a kid... Should've put that iconic heart bed from Sims1 as the thumbnail lol!! What could be more iconic. It was even in the Sims Bustin' Out, that's the first time I saw it anyways.
One of the lovely things about Sims 1 woo Hoo/Play in bed was that after they finished they could have a reaction. It could be that one slapped the other, or a passionate kiss and possibly even vomiting! That was really funny and one of the reasons the Sims 1 was a fun game!

I got introduced to sims 2 when I got three months suspension in senior year second semester. I played all morning into evening, and still managed to pass/ do well in all my classes (except English: summer school).

With teens there are likely also some serious legal considerations. Depicting minors having sex no matter what the context or how it's obscured is a big no-no.

Unfortunately when I begged my mom for the sims and went on and on about how great it was....I should've left out the woo-hoo part because that sealed my fate. Wasn't able to play the sims until many years down the line. I wanted the sims since before TS2 Pets came out, wasn't able to get into the sims until when TS4 was about to be announced. 😭
I never knew you could woohoo in TS3 venues! Granted I never used the tour building before, going to try that the next time I play

Sims 3 will always be my favorite, but I adore the cutscenes from Sims 2 and I also think the couple snuggling after making love is really cute.

Thank you for sharing this video. I got the impression that in sims 2 the sims comment on the whohoo quality afterwards. sometimes they leave bed and cheer or rant and turn thumb down towards the other one, which is proud or ashamed.
I had autonomous woohoo happen in sims 4 if you give both your sims the romantic trait and they are in the mood they will woohoo on their own cause they did right away when i did that.

In the Sims 3 there is a chance, that if your Sim is strained or stressed out and you klick on the moodlet, that your sim will woohoo/try for baby with their partner to get some fun.

Did anyone else ever notice that sims who are at best friend level with a romantic interest (not yet in love) can still woohoo in the closet from apartment life? Sometimes even before they're best friends, if they're feeling into it haha

so uh this is probably not entirely related to the video but uh in the sims freeplay if you get a couple to woohoo but there are no available woohoo spots on the lot they'll just straight up woohoo on the spot in front of literally everyone and nobody even bats an eye lol

I miss the sims 2 so much lol I've been slowly building up my expansions again! I really liked that the teen romance interactions were different from adults in the sims 2, they seemed more frantic and new and I loved how it made that new teen romance feel really new to them while they're figuring out what to do.

I'm a new fan and I am loving these comparison videos or explaining the lore. I was definitely younger when I started playing sims and even sims 3 lore I didn't fully understand, but going back to it as an adult watching all the lore and hidden features or "easter eggs" and overall how much this game has grown over the years. Its just so cool that I've never got these jokes til now!! I also love your relaxed videos its so good to listen to :)

Great video. Some of it had me cracking up sa I have never seen some of it. I had no idea there was a hammock in sims 2. I learn so much from these. I only started sims with 3 and that was a year before 4 came out. I am so addicted.

I realised that you can try for a baby with male university sims in the non-university neighbourhoods.
In my game, Nina caliente has a daughter wth Ashley Pitts and Mary Sue has a son with Brandi Broke's university aged third baby.
I love your comparison videos. As a sims 3 & 4 player I am thinking about starting my adventure with playing the sims 2 and I would love to see you doing in depth viedo or videos about the expansion packs in the second installment. Comparison of the similar EP's like seasons/pets/uni etc would be amazing.

The fashion sense in Sim2 was so much better as well. Things which looked pretty ... and lots of real world practical design features... wheras sims3/4 just looks like lego houses
I had an elder die when I tried to have him father a baby in a 100 baby challenge. Then I managed to revive him by flirting with the grim reaper (no sense wasting a baby daddy!) but the moodlet was still active after he revived so he died again 😂

It would have been good if you had addressed also wicked whims in sims 4. (Not to show much, for obious reasons, but talk about it) I used to play with it and it conserns me that how young players use it. Even as an adult player I noticed that it started to mess up my mind 😅 I downloaded it because sims 4 got so boring to me, and it really did ”spice things up”😅 But it really is a p*rn simulator if you have many animations added, it is no more innocent wohoo and it can desensitize you. It really is conserning how it affects young players minds because it has so so much features and it is so well done. Good that there is wonderful whims also as an option, but still that mod is crazy

You can also woohoo in the Animal Sheds (the building you buy in the outdoor category to then buy a cow or llama) from the Cottage Living expansion pack in the Sims 4. In order to woohoo in the Animal Shed, there cannot be a cow or llama in the shed when you want your Sims to woohoo there. You can perform the interaction when the shed is vacant or you can do it when the cow or llama is outside of the Shed grazing. The sims will kiss, yank each other back into the shed (like the shower woohoo in the Sims 4but with their clothes on instead of the towel) fully clothed and then hay will start flying out the windows of the shed similar to when you refill the feed or clean the shed. The woohoo music turns to a Western/Country sounding version of Woohoo with some twanging going on but the shed does not rock or move. There is no fog or misting either. The animation is the hay flying out the sides of the sheds. At the end, if you pull your camera up towards the top of the shed, you will get the typical flying hearts, fireworks and the hay will fly up and form a literal heart for a couple seconds before dispersing into this swirling vortex of hearts, fireworks and hay. Then your Sims come out. I don't know the positive moodlet for it but when my Sims did it they got one called Too Rustic, Too Rustic! And it talks about how they stubbed their toe on a bucket, got poked by loose straw and splinters somewhere they'd rather not mention, they're not sure a shed is the best romantic destination. I just did it to test it out and I think it's my new favorite one. I like the twangy Western music on it. Which is interesting since the Cottage Living EP is set in England but the animal shed woohoo has that country sounding music so it gives an American feel over it.
