- The #AudiRS3 returns for 2022 with more aggression, power, handling, and fun. The beloved 2.5L turbo 5-cylinder engine now pumps out 401 HP, which #Audi says is the most powerful engine tune of the #RS3 in the world. We take it out on the track, road, and drift course to see what this hot little sedan is capable of.

Long Live The 5-Cylinder Engine! The new RS3 is one heck of an improvement over the previous model. Looking for a mini super sedan that is track capable right out of the box? Put this at the top of your list.
This car vs the new z….
The 5 cylinder makes music 🎶
Hey does it have ambient lighting ?
When will this car officially release in US market?
Yes
the center armrest closes by use of a latch, which you broke by using brute force instead of pressing the latch…
😂
I was wondering if he broke it. Damn
i mean…is it quality if his queeny hands could break it that easily
@@Littleathquakes no need for that
@@barcostudio don't be a fucking girl, that was funny 🤣
Noobieyan
Love the NEW segment, @12:43
First sound of closing the door thunk. Now, the satisfying snap when you break the tiny hinge/release in the center armrest.
Proceeds to pry center console open breaking a piece.
"Dont know why that wouldnt open" -Sofyan
You broke something off the center console, and try hiding it with the cleaning cloth..lol
L O L
12:44 😉
💯
He demolished it damn
Lol he just yanked on the arm rest instead of looking for a lever to open it and broke the clip that the latch attached to to keep it closed 😂 sneak MF Hahahahaha
This car in Kyalami Green is the dream,it puts the car on a whole other level. Checks all the boxes as far as what you want in a car imo.
That green color is very close to Kawasaki green. I hate it!
12:42 Looks like you broke something
Dude broke the armrest latch and covered it with the cloth 😭😭😭
Hey guys..we met in the Proper hotel last year - I have one of these cars and love it in that exact colour and spec… I am a huge fan of that 5 cylinder engine.
Yeah I won’t ever use that drift mode on public roads or empty parking lots. Not once ;)
4:33 “Functional air vent to create an air curtain over the wheel”
YES. FINALLY. SOMEONE. SAID. THIS. CORRECTLY.
Those VENTS are what they are. VENTS. NOT “AIR CURTAINS”.
Love all your videos man!!
Oh yes, been waiting for this video for a long while.
180 mph top speed insane 😳
The size is perfect!
Great Review! Just started looking into this segment smaller car - very impressed.
Damn the RS3 in the US sounds significantly louder than here in Europe, the US are lucky.
US models don’t have OPF
@@imtoogoodforchu yeah exactly, unfortunately here in Europe we have to face EU regulations.
That “thang” is 🔥
Ordered mine in this configuration ... can't wait!
Dang that blue is bananas!
I honestly think Audi has taken over the futuristic interior game
Its just a dumbed down rs6 interior... Mercedes has that covered but they're getting lazy downsizing motors to things people don't want
@@ronburgundy4375 and the 6+ interior is the best on the market. Merc unfortunately has fallen into the “slap a screen on a boring dash” fad, and on their evs, they’ve just gone too far with the screens. Is just too much.
Neat! Hope u feel better Little bro
That thing looks incredible in this color
Thank you for mentioning six piston Brakes, those Advanced Headlights and suspension. You are the best Sofyan) that's why I watch all your videos. This car is a dream
This might be my next car. I've loved 5cyl Audis since the mid 80s. I love everything about this car. Edit: I hope you and Rob are doing well, covid sucks!
I need one too . Pronto! might trade in my 2019 VW GLI35 and 20k down. I need this beast!

The Launch! 😍👍👍
12:40 - 12:44 he broke it 😂😂😂😂
Ya bro, I was thinkin the same thing I rewinded the video a couple times to make sure I was seeing what I saw
@@doniciovelasquez9904🤣🤣🤣 I couldn't stop laughing. The car is dope though 💯
@@alonzalbrown1883 no doubt, it definitely looks nasty and will break necks if out in the public
These things are fast & that blue is very nice
The center console didn’t open because there is a button to push. Can’t just force it open.
You can see the plastic latch broke. Or something flew in the storage there lol. Tsk tsk.
We were pushing the button to open it but it got jammed.
Your excitement changes in every video, I can tell u really like this thing compared to many others.
Here in Australia and over in Europe (not sure about other markets) we also get an RSQ3 and RSQ3 Sportback with the same 5 cylinder as this
They need this in Canada 🇨🇦!
You’re legit one of the best reviewers on UA-cam.
Very Nice Bro! Get Good People!
The design of this rs3 is 🔥🔥🔥🔥
Perhaps, except the grille, which reminds me too much of various Hyundai products.
@@rlsedition Looks identical to an RSQ8.
@@ryanb8736 Not too attractive; just a sea of black.
Absolutely a beautiful car a great design, beautiful interiors fear price
Wow, 0-60 in 3.8 is fast. That's exactly what my 2014 Stingray did it in and I still have memories of doing runs in that monster that bring a smile to my face. This starts at $56K (I paid $58K for my Stingray in '14), so that seems about right. Much better quality leather in this too; that cheap leather in the base Stingray was below even Kia-grade. Audi hit this one out of the park!
Some people have tested them doing 0-60 in 3.2 seconds, I can show you if you want to see. Quarter mile in 11.3 @ 121mph.. damn quick for a car like this. And it wasn’t even a perfect run or in perfect conditions, just wait till car & driver or motor trend get their test drivers to get perfect runs and see what they are truly capable of in stock form.
Makes me wonder if the engine is any different then before, the previous gen facelift made serious power with basic mods like downpipe and tune
@@PapiAndrey Ya I've seen 3.3 out of it. Crazy for a 5 cylinder
@@hlf_coder6272 crazy for a stock car that makes “400” hp. Tested making 430-440hp completely stock lol. Even a gallon or two of e85 on a stock car will bump that up 10-20hp.
I have no doubt in my mind that these will hit 60 in mid 2’s with simple bolt ons and a tune, the last one couldn’t put the power down as well as this new one can
Not only that, but you can also throw a tune on one of these Audi's for relatively cheap, and no additional hardware, literally just a tune, and gain like 100 more ponies. This would put it in the low 3s for 0-60, and into the low 11s for the 1/4 mile. And you get a perfect launch every time, back to back runs all day with ease, perfect (or very close) runs every single time, due to the Quattro AWD. Some people argue that the Quattro AWD is actually one of the best AWD systems too. Sweet cars. I love a beautiful Vette too though!
2018/19 are the best looking and sounding ones
You broke the vehicle! Repeat, you broke the vehicle! 1242! 1242! Youse a very bad boy.
2022 Audi RS3 exterior looks good in this "Mustang" like blue exterior ... Other funky colors that RS3 has available also look great & show off exterior design well ! Audi design for sedans & SUV's = all look the same - just small, medium & large in scale ... Interior looks well appointed & comfortable ... Slainte' ! Cheers !
The RS3 passed in MOST of the test of this review, the only flag was that the central arm rest was destroyed when he "gently" tried to open it without using the latch under the arm rest.
gently
What a great looking car! ❤️
, really? do you really think that front is good looking? I think it is ugly
One of those cars where you just tint the windows and drive it for me I wouldn't mod it at all plenty of power and torque from the factory..this is a low mileage car and not even broken in plus on a very hot day..this cars a straight beast..imagine a cooler 70 degree day with am exhaust and tune you would be walking almost anything
Ya I'm finally taking delivery of mine in just a few weeks, and no way in hell I'm modding it. Numerous people have asked me if I would be. I'm not going to pay to make the car worth less money, while simultaneously voiding the warranty.
There's simply no need to do it. I have an M2 Competition right now, which is really similar to the RS3 in terms of performance, and I'm basically criminally speeding within 2-3 seconds after I get on it, regardless of where I am. Cars are just crazy fast now.
Beautiful machine. Really special.
5 years is incorrect. ive had mr rs3 for 10. and its still awesome.
Was the car in Normal mode during the track drive? The engine is really quiet inside and there does not seem to be any engine sound through the speakers.
I've been waiting for this review. Not that I would get wife approval to own it, but I would love to get this model.
When it comes to car ❤️ love , ignore the wife!!
The crappy thing about this deal is; My wife WANTS me to get this car but, I am not completely sold on it. She keeps threatening me, that she is going to order one and NOT tell me..
As a wife, I’m looking to buy one 😂
Did the armrest clip break when you had to forcibly open it up?
It did, Oops. These very were early built pre-production cars and some of the parts weren't up to usual Audi snuff.
@@theredline nice excuse
Dream car 🤤
70k is possible but still insane
@@scorber23 and I’m sure that dealerships are going to put a hefty mark up as well
@Charming Chowder Are all of your comments just you crying that you're poor?
These can be leased for 1k a month which is easily-doable for most professionals that want one.
@Charming Chowder You should find a better job then because if you're panicking over "uncertain times" then you're clearly underpaid(/lying) I *assure* you that nobody who's shopping for an RS3 is worried about inflation.
Perhaps you shouldn't have overextended yourself so much so you wouldn't sound so bitter?
Wait till you tune it. A whole different beast.
My boy looking like Speed Racer.
How does it feel next to your M3Performance or even MMEGT off the line?
I just wish dealers weren't charging $10k markups on the car because for $74,000 the car is starting to compete with more powerful vehicles. For $64k, it is very well priced for 400hp, but for $74k, I'll find an IS500 or a used GS-F
I find 74k too much for an is500, the rs3 has a rare engine and to some, it’s price doesn’t matter
@@byronnasem4110 I agree with you, $74k is too much for a new IS-500, they're also being marked up by dealers because its rare to find on the roads. At a build price around $65k that's perfect, and it has ventilated seats. But the closer that number is to $80k, I'd just say to get an M3. Even for list price, a CLA45 can be optioned with ventilated seats and has an engine that's on par in terms of output. I like the Lexus 5L V8, but it's hard to justify the prices some are asking and the Audi interior is leagues ahead of Lexus, but the S3 came with ventilated seats back in December and they eliminated the warm weather package for it. That and the new Golf R is a waste of money so it just gives me another reason to not like Audi as a company
@@Da__goat Yeah I’m not paying 80k for a Lexus……so sorry lmao
@@byronnasem4110 drive an LC 500, you’ll beg them to take your money. I have the launch edition IS 500, zero regrets when that V8 note hits
@Charming Chowder Audi is a Volkswagen, what’s your point
dayum. its perfect .
That’s very nice a car 👍🏻 I love it 😍
Portland, JAMAICA in the Building !!!!!
it has 265/30-19 and 245/30-19 for front and rear tires oversea. Why tires got smaller in US?
This is my dream car, going to save up for it. Just love the aggressive style and performance!
A goal worth saving for my friend!
Go ahead and order it now. By the time you get done saving, it might finally be here.
I ordered a black one in March. I just emailed my dealer 2 days ago to check on a timeline, and was told September or October...hopefully. So 7 or 8 months is the freaking best case scenario.
@@hlf_coder6272 Most dealers tell people 10-12 months at this point. Don't be surprised if you don't see it until 2023.
I made this prediction a while ago that front end designs would eventually be all grill, no lights, no bumper, no badges, just GRILL
Great review. Is AOA telling the press when the cars will be produced for the US market as ordered. We spaced a car and our dealer sent in order, but still in wait status. Our sales guy told us we might not see 2022, but skip to 23. We have had a deposit down since last Sepertember so we are ready to buy. Thanks
No homo I lov this car & his reviews
Is the glovebox lined with felt?
Dang dude, your excitement for this car made my shopping more difficult. I am looking at this or the M340i (Maybe the M240i or wait for the new M2), and now this is starting to pull ahead. Of course, there is always the option of saving 20 grand and buying the Golf R, which has similar performance AND cooled seats AND heated rear seats. . . decisions, decisions. . . Great, informative video as always!
Buy a lexus Is500
Golf R isn’t similar performance, but it’s not too far off. I’ve seen the R run a 12.1 second quarter mile at 112mph and doing 0-60 just under 4 seconds.
I’ve seen the new RS3 (sedan) do the quarter mile in 11.3 seconds at 121mph and 0-60 in 3.2 seconds. Not perfect conditions nor a perfect run either.
M340i and M240i aren’t as quick, they’re somewhere in the middle of the RS3 and Golf R.
@Charming Chowder lol what
Rs3 seems to be more of a rare car to see out on the road than an m2 imo,it's something a lil more different.
@@Jcastro9444 That and the 5cyl are the big draws. Especially in that blue or green.

Yes sir 💪🏽💪🏽💪🏽
Will you be doing the follow up week trial review of the 2022 RS3 soon?
Super Ferocius!
If gas prices weren't so high this mightve been my next vehicle.
If you have enough money to spend on an RS3, surely $6/gal gas should not be hard to purchase....
@@thejake8099 Maybe he is from Germany. Currently 1 litre is around 2.20€ here. Converted to $ and gallons thats 8.93$/gal...
@@BoredToDeath182 so if he's from Germany, where the RS3 and gas is priced higher than the States , he should've already known that he could not afford the vehicle or afford the gas, before even making the post. 🙄

Looks fantastic, this thing ev would be amazing
Living in FL ventilated seats is a must for me
Living in AZ... Same for me
I hope I can afford this someday
Truly wish they gave us the sportback. Would be the best car we can buy here. For the price.
This is what the Volvo S60 could've been.
Volvo is gonna die a slow painful death only to be remembered as a grandpa car that had potential but never took advantage of it.
Wait this wasn't discontinued in the States? Its not coming to Canada.
everything but front fascia design has been improved!
If we got the hatchback, I would order one right now and trade in my Golf R.
Can you shift to neutral while driving without worry of reverse gear?
I like the round gages like in my 2019 a4
12:40 damn he really broke the arm rest smh LOL
is this a good option for everyday driver ????
center console broke???
and don't forget! it's banned in canada because it's 5 cylinder engine didn't pass emission tests! Thanks Audi!
I was initially thinking about getting this new one even though I have the current one but I just can't get over that new rear fender with the honeycomb inserts. And the new gear selector. It's a shame, because I like the new technology they added.
I actually finally take delivery of mine in about a month, but I almost didn't buy the RS3 because of that shifter. I have no idea what Audi was thinking with that decision.
I asked my dealer about it when I ordered and his response was, "It's what Porsche is doing" as if that explained everything.
Get it, you'll love it
Trying to convince the wife I need to upgrade from my 2016 S3 to a 2022 RS3 lol
I had a 2017 S3. I switched over to an M2 Competition a couple years ago, but have missed my S3 ever since. It just fit me better.
So I have an RS3 on order right now. I'm trading the M2 for it when it FINALLY gets here, which still isn't for a few months. (I ordered the damn thing in early March)
That’s exactly what I’m doing as well. Just installed a Unitronic Stage 1+ ECU and TCU flash on it and it’s still fun. I’ll be sad to see it go.
I love that color, is that the same one in the Rabbit?
I love this car but unfortunately Canada has nixed it for us due to some "technical requirement" it's falling short of. So bitter.
my dream car right there, is a muscle car killer easily.
Would like to see the in-home review of the RS3
I want one. 😍
Impressive spec. Do they have a FWD delete? My old Mazdaspeed 3 only get 263 hp, but poorer mpg than this.
Tell me about it.
It's probably Kyalami green. Pronounced : kie- ah- lahm- eee. And it's most likely named after an audi owned race track in Kyalami , a suburb of Johannesburg. I used to live across the street from that race track.
Dude broke the armrest lol
12:38 buddy just fucking snapped the latch to open the arm rest.
So that car doesnt need a stabilize bars?
