    Penrith is the location of the very funny 'tea room scene' from the cult comedy film 'Withnail and I'. ( Famous lines include the drunken: "We want cake and your finest wines and we want it now!" and " Miss Blennerhasset, call the police!") 😄 Heartily recommended if you've never seen the film, btw!
    Although much of the film was shot at a derelict farmhouse in the hills south of the town, I was surprised to eventually discover the actual tea room scene was shot at the small town of Stony Stratford in Buckinghamshire, some 60 miles north of London.

      so many yanks just heasd stright to londo nand stay around the ssouth, but we are a r different people (the north used to be a countrry called northumbria and heavily influenced by scandinavia, we are ver ydifferent to the southern English @@CoolTrips101
