Discover the history and explore Brougham Castle with us. The castle we see dates back to the 13th century but a Roman fort stood on the site prior to this.

Thank you so much 🥰
Great video but I wish you had shown the remains of the kitchens, brwery and bakehouse. Thank you, Veronique
I have been to this castle,it has a special interest for me ,caus we live in a road of the same name in Wallasey ,Wirral. It is the same spelling but we pronounce the name different to how you do.We used the walkway to get to the high tower, imagine our surprise when we found our sir name [Watson} carved inside the tower dated over a hundred years ago.Just think ,back then there was no walkway,to reach the tower who ever carved it would have had a dangerous climb to reach the tower. Thanks for your video .Keith Watson.
Oh wow fascinating special link that you have to Brougham Castle :-)
Yes it is,I love castles.which makes it more so.Thank you
I love It 👌
It is a fascinating place 😀
You missed a big part of the castle. How to get to the other part of the castle is like this. You walk up to the main gate to get in, don't go in the gate turn right. Follow the building around the outside. Then you will see a doorway. With steps leading up to a large room, That belonged to the lady you were talking about. It was her bedroom. There was a doorway out of the room. Showing different views of the castle. But if you turn right after that you go down a very dark passage. Leading to small ladies' restroom. The steps are missing to climb higher. Very nice to see the castle again
Thanks for the info, it gives me an excuse to return 😉 glad you enjoyed revisiting Brougham Castle in our video
One small point of detail: Brougham Castle isn't in The Lak District. It's in Cumbria buy outside the National Park.
