I'm thinking this is faster than Blind Blake but not sure. Whew!!

It isn’t the speed, but the fact that he’s got the snap and rhythm down. Leon Redbone also had it, but would mostly reveal it live, and even then only occasionally.

Did Ry cooder abuse the production staff for not getting the volumes right

Yes. He barked “put my voice in the f@cking” monitor” he could have left out the swear and it would have been better

Is there any reason to believe that he’s a nice guy? I once saw him play duets wth David Lindley, with Ry’s then very young son, Joachim, on bass. He looked to be in terror of his father, afraid of making a mistake.
On the other hand, Dostoevsky wasn’t a nice man either.

@@haroldsteinblatt2567 well, I’ve met him 14 times and talked to him for a while. He’s very nice. He’s very close with his son. I think he was aggravated and didn’t show his best self. He’s not a jerk. That’s why I dislike this video. Gives people the wrong impression. When there’s bad sound and you can’t hear it’s disastrous for the performer. The audience doesn’t understand that. They say oh such and such gave a bad show. However, he should have left the stage and ripped the sound guy a new one. Would have been better. Rys a good guy though. Real good guy.
