Mark used to live across the street from us in Marietta Georgia. He was a great neighbor and a really nice guy! He gave us 3 signed comic books, 2 1989 Sprider-Man and 1 Strikeforce Morituai Electric Undertow.
What a great interview. There were comments from Mark Bagley that had me laughing. He came across as open to your questions and wasn’t afraid to speak honestly.
@@matthewschwartz6607 Fantastic! Each issue, you are reading and watching Peter Parker age in "real time," by the decade, from the 60s to the 2000s. Very fascinating and dark at times...
I'm reading Ultimate Spider-Man for the first time right now and only have like 6 issues left before Bagley leaves the book. He is the definitive Spider-Man artist!
Great interview Omar! Is it me or does Mark Bagley seem like your typical High School shop teacher? Anyways seems like a great guy and we all know Uber talented
Cool! Loved it! For some reason I pictured him looking young even though I know he drew Spiderman right after McFarlane and Larsen in the 90's. Must be cause his art still feels young.
5:40 My god... That's my line. 👀 Nice interview. Always pleasant to see a (classic) creator who is down to earth in their conversations. "You just want to slap Jack Kirby right across the head." -- Mark Bagley. 🙄
Thank you for making my day very great, because the man happens to be one of my No.1 Favorite comic book artist of all time, ever since I saw his work on Ultimate Spider-Man, The Amazing Spider-Man, and The Thunderbolts. Because Mark actually inspired me when I was just a little and still inspires me as an adult right now, I mean once you look at his artwork it’s like the most groundbreaking fun you could ever experience, well that’s me saying it. But other than that, like I said before he still inspires me today, every time I’m drawing and practicing my skills, I look at his work to learn how to study his style to see where my own work would lead me to. Right now at this point I wanna be him so badly but who knows where I’m gonna go to after I learned enough. So overall thank you Omar for interviewing him, and god bless you Mark Bagley!
Awesome interview Omar! I haven’t seen that much from Mark Bagley honestly, as I reach much more DC than I do Marvel, but I hope to see his art in the future. It’s so awesome seeing someone with such a passion for what they do! This was an awesome interview, heres hoping you snag one with Grant Morrison one day!
Omar because of your channel I bought the ultimate spider man omnibus when it came out, Mark became a favorite before I even knew what he look like lol, great interview 🔥🔥
Mark is one of my favorite Spider-Man artists, but is it just me, or does he kind of come across as a bit of a grump? Omar, you did a great job, I can tell a couple of his remarks kind of took you back a little, it would have done the same to me!
He’s very sarcastic. I didn’t know where it was going to go. But if you want to see grump, you should see my Peter David interview until he opens up to me. Lol
I loved his sense of humour in this interview. Sometimes being a little wry and sharp (in the way that Bagley is a little here) shows how comfortable they are with you.
Fantastic interview, he is very forthcoming and outgoing. Total agree with his rationale on charging for autographs, too many dealers and speculators out there profiting off of these guys generosity. You wouldn’t believe what I witnessed at the Simonson’s table at Heroescon, people putting 50-60 books and only a dollar or two in the donation bucket. Those guys suck.
Another great interview! Back in the days I actually didn't like Mark Bagley's art on Amazing Spider-Man but when the Clone Saga Omnies released and I got to revisit that time period it made me a huge fan of his art back then. And now Michelinie and Bagley Spidey omni is my most wanted! I must have been crazy as a kid to not like his art! Now just Bagley's art can save a bad comic book.
Omar. Thanks for uploading and interviewing this master of spider-man. It's funny thinking back but I still have that try out book he entered back to marvel back in the day and that trading card set is still a fave of mine. His backlog on spidey speaks for itself. I thought you interviewed him well and I hope you got a signed book for yourself. Now you need to interview romita snr for me to be in heaven. Excelsior sir :-)
Dear Omar. Nice chat, Nice conversación with (at least for me) I grew Up, Mark Bagley. I don't know if he was in a hurry or how they process of having this minutes of conversation are in a convention. Expect You can explain me that. Thank You for this great moment. Take care.
When you're having audio issues, there's no shame in switching to mono audio since it's a singular mic. We always mix our Comic Timing Podcasts as mono for safety purposes. Lol
Omar what happened to the RIGHT channel on that mic? It's mono and left channel only! And here I thought only small-time UA-camrs with cheap mics like me had sound problems! That's a RODE man! Good interview though!
I have never seen what this man looks like and have loved his work for 20 years.
Unapologetically grounded and honest! LOVE IT!!!
Mark's rendering of VENOM in Leathal Protector is my absolute favorite run.
Romita and Bagley are, for me, the definive artists of Spiderman. Thanks for sharing this! 🍺

His work on Spider-Man: Life Story with Chip Zdarksy is my absolute favorite!
How was the story?

Bagley’s Spider-Man has appeared on sooo much merchandise over the years, I hope he got some kind of compensation in his contracts.
In a interview he said "nope"
Mark deserve hour long interview! Thank you for catching him even like that. Love seeing him still in biz.
Mark is like my favourite Spider-Man artist of all time. Awesome interview Omar!
Great quick interview and Mark Bagley seems a fun guy😄
I've been a fan of this mans work since I was a teenager and I would love to see more interviews with him to just get behind his mindset and style.
I love this dude! I would love to see what the conversations would be like between him and Bendis talking comics.
