- Over the past couple of years, Pokimane has essentially become UA-cam's copyright Karen. By taking down videos and going after people's sponsors, she's turned a lot of people against her, and in today's video we have to take a look at how it all happened, and what it all means.

I feel like the "pokimane is a karen" point is the most accurate. For me the problem is how many people assume its everybody all the time about anything. Some streamers just eat while watching other peoples videos, but not all of them. And blaming a youtuber for he's long upload delays is quite out of touch, most of the cringey easy money cash grabing click baiting videos are from those who upload sometimes multiple times a day... But once again, not all quick makers are bad makers. Don't generalise.

The thing is there are streamers who literally just pull their own streams from twitch and upload them straight to UA-cam and get their entire twitch audience to like that video and comment so they go. "man this UA-cam thing is so simple and easy"

A lot of the youtubers I watch use stream highlights for their UA-cam videos. Its just makes their content more accessible to people who enjoy watching them but don’t have twitch. It isn’t for more money (well it is, but only partly) it’s just so more people to see their content.
For example, ludwig streams and then takes the vod and puts it into his youtube channel, I think he edits it himself as well.

I think streaming and making videos are equally exhausting but with making videos, you need to do a ton of preparations in advance + editing the videos after (unless you have an editor which cuts down the work significantly). In the case of streaming, you need to consistently be live multiple times a week at a set period of time so you can gather loyal viewers. They come for content but stay for consistency. Even if you have past broadcast, it’s rare for people to actually wanna watch more than 5 mins of your past streams. That means for live streamers, even if you don’t feel like it, you need to force yourself to stick to your schedule (same standards applies to show /anime reactors). For UA-camrs, I have seen UA-camrs gain a ton of subs for the quality content they make. While the prep is a LOT more work than streaming, some UA-camrs can still make it big even if they post once or twice a month. So I guess it really depends on your circumstances.

It’s sad UA-cam is basically cutting Andrei’s salary because people reporting his videos for reasons not related to the report/flag. UA-cam really needs to work on reviewing reported videos because this is really upsetting to me. I don’t have time to pay attention to current social media drama so I watch every video Andrei makes to keep up with it but hearing that he’s apart of the pool of UA-camrs struggling to get monetized is Bullshit.

This. It's so frustrating to hear when youtubers get demonetized because of a few butthurt people. I wish the people who actually watch the content could also get a say in whether or not the report/flag is justified since youtube itself doesn't actually check for themselves.
I was watching the Fedmyster issue unfold and one thing that caught my eye was the messages between Lily and Fed about how perplexed Poki was with this video. This video wasn't a hit piece, it was simply explaining the issue that happened as well as pointing out the abuse of Copyright Claim from her end to nuke anything she dislikes. The fact that this video made her so pissed is gold.
Tbh, using copyright strike is an abuse. My cousin who is a UA-camr gets hate from some comments and that broke my heart, imagine Poki Copyright Striking a small youtuber which must've taken an hour or heck of some day to complete. I'll update once I'm done with the script, and it'll be either in December or January

8:14 this is a sad picture of what UA-cam has become, he almost bleeped out the entire sentence...
The current state of UA-cam is so disappointing. They keep removing useful features like Polls and (commenting, saving to playlists, and watching in mini player) for “child oriented” content. Copyright claiming is a joke. It’s used to silence unpopular opinions, and take down unfavourable content, even when everything being said is 100% true. Plus it is Heavily waited in-favour of the accuser, who can essentially steal your money on practically non-existent ground, with little to no repercussions. High quality content that takes longer to make is buried under piles of easy to produce garbage. It doesn’t help that UA-cam is so secretive about it’s back-end. UA-cam’s algorithm is incredibly good at maximizing Watch Time, but is vary bad at censorship and demonetization. And when people rely on UA-cam as their primary source of income, that is just unacceptable.
Right now, If someone were to make another website for videos that is more fair than UA-cam, they would gain a lot of attention from a lot of people
