My favorite aunt quit cigs in her late 30s. She then developed sugar cravings so strong she could not control herself. She developed type 2 diabetes but could never get it under control or change her eating habits. I'm super patriotic and love America... But one thing I envy other countries for is their foods. I saw the list of ingredients in Heinz Ketchup from America vs Canada, and there was a drastic difference. Same with breakfast cereals, and literally everything else on shelves.
As a European who loves America and visits often, food is the primary thing that worries me. As a society Americans are starved of nutrients and eating packets of chemicals is normalized, the things my American friends eat for breakfast, lunch and dinner is mind boggling to someone who cooks fresh for 2-3 meals a day.

I work in an Elementary school and I can attest to the amount of junk food most kids eat and the levels of violence increasing. The majority of people just don't want to see the connection because junk food is cheap and easy.
I'm 61 and have seen the grocery changes for myself since I was a child: aisles of canned vegetables replaced by aisles of refrigerated/frozen food that is microwaved, a 10 ft section of one aisle now almost the entire 50 ft of both sides for carb/fat rich chips and crackers, the dairy aisle filled with "almond milk" (that contains what, 6 almonds per 1/2 gal?) and other processed replacement dairy drinks, have seen the fruit juice aisle replaced with sugar infused "from concentrate" processed crap, have seen bread go from 4-5 ingredients to 30+, it's all gross. We need a "hard reset" on our diet and the only way I think at this point it can be done is via the medical community and govt regulation (as much as I distrust both, one to a lesser degree than the other). My GP retired a few years ago and in my last visit with him he said something like, "You should never take almost all medications for more than one month, yeah you'll need some to survive a chronic issue but the long-term damage to your body will become an issue." He'd also brought up processed oils and said to use only virgin olive oil or safe animal fats (from cows/pigs that are eating only natural free-range foods) and discussed the evils of Soybean and other oils. The guy ate poached ocean caught salmon 5 days a week and looked/felt great. Me, not as good.
Produce is a scam. We don't need to eat so much produce. Beef, Bacon, Butter, Eggs, and occasionally Fish, Pork, Chicken, and any other meats you like. All the body needs.
Sadly, I (like many others), am learning this at 51. I have also stopped eating anything "unnatural" to the best of my ability, stopped modern medicine, and take in minerals (super important), and direct sources of vitamins, essential fats, etc. Feel 100 times better! EVERYONE BOYCOTT processed foods and support your local farmers! Do the opposite of what the food and health administration says!
About a month ago I ditched birth-control altogether. Been taking it for 6 years to fix my menstrual cycle. When I got off of it, my periods became light, short and pretty much painless.
Birth control made me feel crazy, so I took it less than a year. Had my kids around 3 years apart "naturally". 30 years of periods were a breeze. 10 years of peri-menopause. Ok enough I guess. Now eating healthy and feel great. 15 lb down in 2 months, never hungry.
My wife experienced the same thing. She never used it, but she began to during when we were trying to get pregnant. It made her erratic and she hated how it made her feel. Birth control is probably the worst invention in modern history. Now we're living in a society run by effeminate men and "liberated" women.
This is 100% spot-on. I’ve recently changed my diet to lose weight and help keep from getting type-2 Diabetes. I used to smoke years ago, quitting was tough. Quitting junk food is way worse than quitting cigarettes. The addiction is real and it’s literally killing us.
To be honest, its too late for us, we are already walking around with these forever chemicals and microplastics inside us. But its important that we take a step back and make mature decision to save our future generations from lifelong illness and cancer. We need RFK, he is the one we need to fix this corrupt chemical bullshit.
Our bodies can probably handle chewing on coca leaves but not if we refine it down to a powder and take bumps of it in the bathroom when nobody's looking
The refinement process is the issue. Instead of inefficiently getting a bit of the feel good chems from a single Coca leaf we get the equivalent of like 100-1000 leaves in one small hyper-concentrated hit with no buffer in-between
If you took the sugar found in a can of coke, and you decided to eat the same amount of sugar but in the apple form, you’d NEVER EVER overeat the sugar, you just couldn’t physically eat that much to hurt yourself. It’s the concentration without the satiation. Take Doritos for an example, 40 chips is 500 calories, 1 gram protein. A 6 ounce steak has the same calories but contains all the nutrients you need plus 100 grams of protein which is primarily what you need. The chips won’t fill you up but the steak not only fills you up, but lasts you the day

Damn… I just moved to America from Australia (I’m 47) and I can’t believe all the sugary crap in the food over here. I eat basic meat and vegetables, minimize booze and exercise regularly. It’s a struggle because some of the stuff on the shelves looks so delicious and tempting, but reading the box or jar I’m like ‘nope, not today’. Whenever I go to the store I’m shocked at the ‘food’ people have piled up in their carts… it can’t be good.

8 months ago my wife and I started a whole food only diet. No processed sugars, no grains, no seed oils. Started a regular exercise regimen consisting of mostly bodyweight and calisthenics. I'm down to 170 lbs, have washboard abs, and at almost 50 I'm in the best shape of my life. Wife looks and feels amazing as well.
I feel so validated. I’ve been talking about this for over 20 years and it’s been hard when people act like you’re being negative for pointing out the greed and corruption. On the point of the burden of proof… When I was thinking about getting married/pregnant, I was on antidepressants and I asked my doctor whether they were safe. She said … the medication is Class B… we have no proof that it harms the fetus. I was like… ummm… do you have any proof it’s safe?! Truly insane that is the standard. I adopted a paleo diet and got off my antidepressants and got pregnant a year later. I was 38 at the time and my OB GYN said to me… your test numbers are coming back like you’re in your 20s!
I've been trying to quit sugar for years now, I managed to kick fast food out of my life, but sweets have been way harder to drop, I satisfy it by switching up to raisins and pistachios, but as soon as I walk into a grocery store I let my guard down. I swear I never baked but I was thinking of digging out Grandma's oatmeal cookie recipe, use some honey and cane sugar, it's still sugar but not the poison I'm getting from the store bought garbage.
Use organic oats, not Quaker Oats. Mix in some nuts and coconut, or whatever you like. Variety is important. It's easier than you think. Roll the dough into balls for baking if you like a soft center, they'll flatten out as they bake. Bon appetit.
@@mikeottersoleoats- regardless of their organic status- result in a very high blood sugar and strong insulin response. They are carbohydrates. Carbohydrates are strings of sugar. Best to avoid all sugars, including the ones we’ve been taught are “healthy”. Especially grains. The keto way of eating eliminates cravings. Worked for me and a handful of persons I know irl. Also, nuts are high in various potentially dangerous compounds and super easy to overeat. Bad advice for someone dealing with cravings. Why do you think these are good ideas? Not trying to be snarky- seriously just curious about where you’re getting your nutrition info from.
Most people who achieve metabolic health, it takes years and years to get to. Getting off the fast food is an amazing step towards protecting your health! I also put rules on myself that if I were to eat baked goods, I’d have to make them. Still follow that rule. I use banana or apple to sweeten. Use coconut flour to keep the carbs low (though it’s a strong flavor and weird texture, that I didn’t like at first) 1/4 cup of flour is about 28 grams of carbohydrates- 28 grams of what your body understands is sugar. It gets broken down into glucose, the same stuff that’s measured in a blood sugar finger stick. It’s still sugar, even if it’s unsweetened. Bread is sugar. Pasta. Bagels. Rice. Potatoes. Oats and other grains. The body registers each as a glucose and they are treated the same way as table sugar. Mention this because a lot of people find it necessary or advantageous to eliminate all carbs for a period while rehabilitating mitochondrial health. If all else fails, maybe consider keto or carnivore ways of eating. Worked for me.
The American food industry lobby would hate regulations like in Europe or even South America (e.g., having explicit package labels stating "High in sugar" and "High in fat") introduced in the U.S. .
Right. The other day I bought a Coke from a store here imported from Mexico. It has a big warning label on it about it being high in sugar content and not ideal for kids. Won't find that on Coke in the USA
@@polystrate1 Its all about moderation. We need some high quality saturated fat, but these keto and carnivore zealots think that because SOME is healthy it must mean you can't eat too much of it.
The competition in the 50s with the medical industrial complex was homegrown "druggists" cocaine, caffeine, morphine, were readily available at the drug store and people could "self treat" based on their understanding of their ailments. Plenty of people were addicted to all kinds of drugs in the 60/70/80s....

What needs to be understood as to why the pharmaceutical companies got immunity from liability for the vaccines and that is because they government wanted to make them mandatory and the pharma companies KNEW that amount of health issues would go through the roof (for various reasons) and said that the only why make them mandatory would work would be to make the manufacture of vaccines not liable for those issues to come.

Finally something seems to be helping with this ratcheting action that is tensing up my shoulders lower neck mid neck upper neck base of the skull and occipital nerves. I spend about £24-£27 a week on food. Mostly broccoli, green beans, apples, potatoes, celery, blackberries, blueberries, tomatoes and nuts. Once every 3-4 months I fill the freezer with chicken, cod, mackerel and salmon. Nothing processed, no ready meals, and in the last two years I’ve lost 65 pounds. Walk every day usually for an hour. Living in a small coastal town where everything is on hand is a great advantage. I just cant imagine living in the U.S. where you need a car for everything. I’ve visited the U.S. quite a few times on business. The food was appalling, huge piles of low quality crap. Got food poisoning in New York City. It’s not difficult to live well on less. To cook at home, to plan meals, to prepare in advance, it’s not difficult. When you eat for entertainment, because you’re bored, and not for nutrition, then you eat highly processed crap too? No wonder there is an obesity epidemic.

She developed type 2 diabetes but could never get it under control or change her eating habits. She suffered a series of strokes in her 50s that robbed her of her mind, she spent the last 9 years of her life in a nursing home and both of her legs were cut off. This needs to change. Thanks for bringing these issues up.
Literally?

Convenience stores too. Over half the store is candy sweets junk food. They put the honey buns - 2/$1 - right by the checkout. Fn gross.
Just eat what is on the outside aisles. Produce, meat, dairy, etc...
Produce is a scam. We don't need to eat so much produce.

If you took the sugar found in a can of coke, and you decided to eat the same amount of sugar but in the apple form, you’d NEVER EVER overeat the sugar, you just couldn’t physically eat that much to hurt yourself. It’s a struggle because some of the stuff on the shelves looks so delicious and tempting, but reading the box or jar I’m like ‘nope, not today’.

Most people who achieve metabolic health, it takes years and years to get to.
Getting off the fast food is an amazing step towards protecting your health! I also put rules on myself that if I were to eat baked goods, I’d have to make them.
Still follow that rule.
I use banana or apple to sweeten. Use coconut flour to keep the carbs low (though it’s a strong flavor and weird texture, that I didn’t like at first)
1/4 cup of flour is about 28 grams of carbohydrates- 28 grams of what your body understands is sugar.
Get some discipline bro it's just sweets wtf lol
This is probably why my kidneys failed when I was 21. Years of bad food that i thought were ok to eat was really poisoning me.
