Hi Nancy, another great video. My suggestion when it comes to your socks that are 2 stripes short, if you have to rip back, I would just rip back the toe ofvthe first sock then rip back the 2 stripes that you are short on for the second sock and then reknit with the contrast colour. At least that way they would be matching. Good luck. 😘
Thanks for spending some time with me 💕 I have reached out to some of my knitting friends to see if anyone has a scrap 🤞 If that doesn't work out, I will be adjusting the first sock and going from there 🤓
Great Podcast!! I just finished 2 pairs of Allsorts of fun socks. I asked for the wool for Christmas when I saw your socks. My daughter gifted to me and I did a pair for me and shorties for her. Can't wait for the sock a long I must find wool for the tits up socks.
Another great visit with you nancy,!!! Spent some time knitting ,,,,On socks as usual,, Love😥ur new dk pattern,,,,Will definitely purchase it tomorrow,,!!!! Your new sweater with that pink mohair !!!wow,,,,It's beautiful,,,,,!!! You are Busy!!! Take care,, Elaine 🏡💛❤
Gosh, you have had a lot of snow. We are having a hot summer in South Africa. I love your podcasts, always look so forward to them. What a personality you have! 😅😊❤
Thanks so much Rosemary...a lovely boost to my morning 💕 We've got more snow coming ❄️ We've gotten off pretty lightly so far, but I think thats about to change 🤓
Hi Nancy. Pink is definitely your colour! Rather than no buy change it to buy with intention. Allow yourself to buy yarn for a project you are going to start in the next project or two . My self imposed rule for yarn festivals is I have to use up the yarn I buy before I can attend again. You know I’m shopping with a list lol !
What a wonderful way to start my day! Your Wilfreda looks amazing. Not a sock knitter but always enjoy seeing your designs. Your Sussex weekend sounds like a lot of fun - enjoy!
Just starting to watch but pausing to say, I was wearing a pair of Smoke Gets in Your Eyes socks yesterday, got a hole at the big toe! I'm sure it's because they were a tad short. After decades of knitting socks, my biggest problem is getting the length of my socks just right 🤔🤨. I was maybe going to darn them, but I have lots of yarn left, so I'm going to re-knit the entire toe section...won't take long!
I was so happy to see your podcast pop up, after 3days without power and internet, thanks cyclone kirrily. I just sat with a cuppa and enjoy enjoyed it.
Thankyou Nancy its always fun to watch while i admire your beautiful knitting , iI am blown away by your talent to design and your math skills ! You are so lovely and I always look forward to your podcasts!😊💕
Amazing Ranunculus story! And so clever - your 2 socks out of 1 tube skills. Thank you for sharing your secrets 🤩 oooo…your linen coral yarn is delicious 😍 looking forward to your next podcast milestone and beautiful necklace giftaway ❤❤❤ never need to apologize for spending time with us. See you soon!
Wow, I love the thrift store Ranunculus! Lucky you. So close to the 4k subscribers. I enjoy spending time with you and every episode gets me closer to casting on my first pair of socks. I am a sweater knitter but now feel like a small sock project would be a great palate cleanser between sweaters. I love all of your patterns. ❤
Thanks Vicki 💕 I love coming to have a chat 🤓 Knitting socks are my desert island 🏝 knit...if I could knit nothing else, it would be socks 🧦 Come to the dark side 😂
Marie Greene’s new book Knitting Light is coming out in March, filled with beautiful summer knits! If you are wanting some new tops. Those new DK socks are lovely! I might need to cast them on. FYI that Musselburgh hat looks adorable on you!
Brilliant Erika...I will keep an eye out for Marie's book. I have quite a few of her patterns favourited but I haven't made any yet 🤔 Thanks for hanging out with me again 💕 I wore my Musselburgh Hat out in public today...it was bloody freezing this morning 😬
Your such a joy to watch.Always take away some tips from your podcast. Love the chain stitch holder necklace, what a great idea. Stay safe see you on your next podcast❤️
Great Musselburgh hat. Mine is a work in progress. I weighed my cake before I cast on. Then I knit all the increases, so the “crown”, then weighed again to see how much it took. I gave myself an extra gram or two and I’ll knit until I have that amount left for the decreases.
Enjoyed your podcast and all the lovely socks you’ve knitted. Also your Wilfred’s will be gorgeous…love the yarn color. Looking forward to the knitting retreat next month. I’m sure we’ll see many projects for inspiration!
Wow thanks for the information about the blood donation. I too had the same issue from living in the UK, I paused your video and went and booked my appointment. I work at the hospital and see all the time how important the blood donations are. Although it does slightly gross me out when the porters deliver a bag of blood to my desk 😂
I was also disqualified from donating blood in Canada because of time spent in the UK in that Mad Cow period, and checked in late December and found they had relaxed a lot of their restrictions, including that one. So I gave blood in late December for the first time since about 1990 (when it was still the Red Cross doing it), and I'm scheduled to give again on February 14. I'll take a sock project with me, too.
Well done Wendy 👏👏 The day I donated, there were 3 other disqualified donors that had been in. So hopefully us Mad Cows will be a big boost to the system 😉🤓
Hi Nancy! I stumbled on your channel a few months before Christmas and I get giddy when you upload a new one. Thoroughly enjoyed watching as always. Thank you for the tip with one smaller needle on the left- genious!
Lovely to sit back, knit on my socks and now going to check out the Njord pattern. I'm pretty new to sock knitting and I've decided this is a year of socks for me - going to crack it😄 Thanks for a great podcast!
I love that bag that your future son in-law blushes each time he sees it. I'm 72 and I enjoyed the deep laugh I had this morning. Thanks for the humor. Enjoying your socks!!! Jo
Nancy lovely to see you again , watched you while knitting in the round on a sweater requested by my husband nearly done with body couple of inches then on to the rib . You have accomplished a lot in three weeks and all beautiful . Happy crafting see you soon
The day job is quite quiet in January, so there's been a lot of the knitting "job" How lucky am I that I am able to knit and call it work. Enjoy the rest of your holidays 💕
Hello from Smiths Falls ON. Starting January 1st 2024, I decided to knit 2 pairs of socks per month...1 pair patterned and 1 pair from leftovers. I had sorted all of my leftovers, keeping those that I had loved knitting with and donated the remainder to my LYS where the part skeins are 'sold' for a donation to our local women's shelter. I'm finishing up pair #2 for February and looking forward to casting on pair #3 on 1st March...it's very satisfying. Thanks for the great tips for a good fit with a circular yoke sweater.
Hi Christine 👋 That's a great plan for the year...good to have some plain knitting as well as something that needs a bit more concentration 🤓 Thanks for spending some time with me 💕
Hi Nancy! Thank you for a very enjoyable episode! Your Wilfreda is so pretty. I’m sure you will have it completed before Feb. 9th. Love the yarn that you received from Deborah! I’ll have to check her website out!
Thanks so much Carolyn 🥰 My Wilfreda has been ignored the last couple of days, so I think I'm going to save it for knitting on our weekend away because it's perfect stockinette in the round for chatting away...with wine 😂
That’s a good plan too! I wish I lived closer, I would be there in a heartbeat to share some time with all of you and chat, knit and drink wine. (Just too long of a drive from Ontario)! Have fun next weekend!😊
can't believe that sweater was in a thrift store.....amazing you got it.....good for you. Thank you for showing us the cutting of the socks. those sock organizers are great. i got them last year and of course they are too high for my drawer so I keep them in my closet and store my scarves for work.....silk scarves. yes I have a lot of them....LOL Love the pattern of the DK Socks!
Thanks for being here again Mary❣️ I'm not sure where the organizers are going...I've got 3 of them 🤔 That Ranunculus was such a find and I jumped on it 🤓
If you can't get the right 2 grams of West Yorkshire Spinners Fairy Lights yarn to finish your sock, you could cut into the top and reuse the yarn from the ribbing, and knit the ribbing in a contrast color.
Hi Nancy , the Njord Sock Pattern is out and I Love IT ❤ here in in Germany we have 6ply and 8ply Sock yarn in 150gramm Balls,so i am glad not running out of yarn 😊 . The Wilfreda Pattern will be the next that i cast on😍thanks for showing that ❤. Have a Goodyear time and Happy knitting 🧶🧶🧵🪡
Watching your podcast and you just tried on your Musselburg hat. You said that you don't often wear a hat, but you should. You looked so cute in that hat. I think you are a hat person! Wear more hats.😊
Hi Nancy, another great podcast, cheered me no end when it popped up today, I'm currently knitting your 'Let's Stay Home' socks, I am not a fast knitter but one is complete and I'm halfway through the cuff on the second - such a beautiful pattern. Loved seeing your lime green DK socks, they really are stunning. Thanks for all the tips and pointers, they are all being added into my knitting notebook. You're helping me become a better knitter so thanks for that x
Nancy, such a great video! I loved everything. Your Swiss dot not so shorties turned out so cheerful and cute. Thank you so much for the afterthought tutorial! I was definitely one who asked for that. The new Njord sock is beautiful. The color is amazing! I can't wait to make my own pair. Both of your sweaters in progress are breathtaking. I thought your explanation for adjusting for the bust was very clear. My name, Melissa, means "Honeybee" so of course I'm hoping for the 4,000 subscribers giftaway. We'll see what happens! I'm sharing the video with my friends. ❤️🧶❤️🧶❤️
You are so delightful, Nancy! I don’t get to watch podcast often, but every time I watch yours, it makes me happy! You are just talented and humorous and I love to watch your makes! happy design anniversary! I plan to participate via Instagram! I can’t wait to hear how your Retreat went and if you finished that beautiful pink sweater! And thank you for the way that you put the podcast together and the timestamps! I did watch your mini episode, and I love that as well! I will be going backwards to catch up with a few that I have missed!😊
Thank you so much Dianna 🙏💕 That is so very kind of you to say. I love coming to have a chat. I'm recording today and will have lots to say ... as always 😆😆
Happy knitting Nancy! Your Wilfreda is looking beautiful, love the colour too. Just started the cables today on mine after a couple restarts. Your new sock pattern is lovely.
Thanks for spending some time with me Helen 💕 I've decided to save my Wilfreda for the knitting weekend because it's perfect stockinette in the round now 🤓 My Zweig is getting lots of love❣️
So many beautiful FO's Nancy. Just casting on a pair of Swiss Dot Shorties and first saw them on Ali's channel (Little Drops of Wonderful) - your colourway looks so lovely. Another great episode, Julie (in Australia)
Thanks for spending some time with me Julie ❣️ I think Swiss Dot Shorties might be one of my favourites 😍 I've been enjoying Ali's daily vlogs this week ...it was a nice surprise 🤓
Thanks so much for trying the Njord pattern 🧦 I hope you love knitting your socks❣️ I'm tempted to knit another pair...we'll see if I can squeeze them into the rotation 😊
I always enjoy your soothing podcasts, even though I don't make many socks. However, your new pattern is sure pretty!! I don't know if you watch The Grocery Girls, but they did an interview with Kim McBrien Evans on adjusting sweaters for larger sizes. Your ideas are also brilliant. I can't believe you got a Rananculus from a thrift store! I wonder what the story is behind that sweater! I would suggest the Sunshine Coast sweater for your gorgeous coral yarn. And, I wish I were closer to attend your retreat! Have fun!
I haven't had time to catch the Grocery Girls Instagram, but definitely will be tuning in. I'm totally here for the knowledge to modify more and make better knits 🤓 I always wonder about the story behind the Ranunculus. Was it knit for someone who got rid of it? Or did the knitter not like it and donate it? Either way...it's now loved❣️❣️
I just came across your podcast and loved it! Can't wait to get back to more sock knitting but still got a lot of wips to finish. Lots of love from London UK x
Happy New Year! I poured myself some wine and watched your last two episodes back to back. I enjoyed catching up with you. I was going to offer you leftovers of the Fairy Lights yarn but after reading through the comments it looks like you were able to get your hands on some. Enjoy your knitting getaway-cheers!
Always great to have a listen (and one way chat to you /my screen 😂). I am working away on a WIP that I had no intention of casting on based on my Rav queue but here we are and I can't put it down! Looking forward to the new sock pattern and the sock-along! February is my birthday month (last day--except for this year--but I'll take the whole month), so some sock knitting with friends (even if I am actually sitting by myself!) seems in order and I look forward to it. Oh, I was thinking that you've had the All-sorts socks, so what about a pattern for Wine Gums? 😉. Stay cozy!
Lol...Jessica!! I'm the same way when I watch podcasts. Brad always asks who I'm talking to....my knitting friends on my pad or TV 😂😂😂 I have projects in my Ravelry queue that I never, ever look at 🤓 I'm also excited for the sock KAL 🥳
Always such a joy to see u! Mmmmm, whatever the Grenache is crossed w, I MUST try it! lol I think our palette’s are similar ish enough that what ur drinking sounds delish! I’ve mostly stuck to same ol same ol petit Verdot over this cold/foggy/icy/snowy/rainy grey past 2 weeks. Your zweig is to die for! It’s still a “must knit” for me!
I agree!!! We could happily share a bottle of wine or two 🤓 it's a Grenache Carignan cross grape called Marselan. It was a 70's grape experiment that didn't really take off, but now it's back and yummy! I'm definitely enjoying all the reds in the depths of winter. Happy knitting 🧶
OK, so you enabled me, yet again!. I ordered the siken linen from Yarn indulgences in the color Coral.... Now you need to tell us what pattern you will be making. lol
Lol...we'll be twinsies 🤓🤓 I'm still pondering, but I have a feeling it will be an Isabell Kraemer or another Salty Air Tee, but not cropped like last time 🤔 I will keep you posted
Great video! Nice mix of chat and sharing. As far as tee suggestions, I’ve knit the Salty Air. I like it a lot, but my next one will incorporate your sweater math 😉. Those round yokes can be tricky. Other tees that are in my favorites but not knit by me yet are Kuutar, Palme, and (no need to) Panic Sweater. That coral yarn is beautiful and I can’t wait to see what you make with it!
Thanks for the suggestions Cathy!! I've knit Salty Air before and I'd like to knit another in different yarn. I'm definitely going to check out the ones you put below. Thankfully round yokes are the easiest to adjust 🤓
I had the same problem with a pair of socks I'm knitting from Kroy sock yarn as you had with your son's self striping sock yarn. Except on top of breaking and not matching the stripe, both balls (of the same die lot) were wound in the opposite direction and then when the break came, they reattached it to yarn that was winding in the opposite direction to that ball, so the striping was now going in the opposite direction. Because some of the stripes were quite wide, mismatching would have bothered me. It doesn't bother me as much on narrow stripes, so I wouldn't have worried about it in that case and would have just reattached the other end of the yarn and kept going. I had originally started knitting one sock from the outside of its ball of yarn, and the other sock from the inside of its ball of yarn. So, since I wanted my socks to be twins, I had to pull off a lot of yarn to get to the same starting place originally, and now I had to do it again, where the break was. So I lost a lot of yarn on that ball, which also irritated me. I notified thecompany and theysaid that socks made with their yarn wasn't meant to have stripes that match up. And that they werent concerned as long as there was only one or two joins in their ball of yarn because thathappens. Well why in the world would they even make self striping yarn in a regular striping pattern then?!? If I sent the ball of yarn to them, and they deemed it to be a problem, they would give me an online credit for it. But I don't feel like paying shipping on one ball of yarn for something that was their fault. Oh well, luckily its for me, and I still have just enough yarn to finish the socks, but I really am the original Princess and the Pea, and will feel that tiny knot every time I wear my socks. I have a couple more colourways of Kroy sock yarn. I just hope they don't have the same problem. We used to have alocal yarn company, and if they had to join yarn inside a ball of yarn, it wasconsidered seconds, and sold considerably cheaper. I guess that isn't the case with the bigger sock companies any more. It's sad.
ABSOLUTELY!!! I have no patience for 2 breaks...One I can deal with. I don't trust their notes either. I cut the yarn and then weave in the 2 ends in a way that I know won't come loose. So annoying and you probably won't buy their yarn again!
What a way to start the new school off! Watched a wee hit before I went into school and have just finished the rest of the episode. 4K is oh so close I see! 🎉🎉🎉
sock thought: you could undo to just above the heel, take a little out of the leg and the redo the foot with the extra yarn - pain in the butt I know but better than redoing 2 whole socks ❤
Such a great podcast as always!! You never cease to inspire me with all your beautiful knits. I found you during Christmas and thoroughly enjoyed your efforts during such a busy time!! Love the bee necklace!!
Take the toe off the other pair, rip back until you are at the same point in the pattern as the other sock and make longer blue toes on both. It will look like a design feature.
I've been very lucky Deborah❣️ I have a couple of yarny friends who both have some in their stash. Those socks are in the naughty corner until I get my hands on the scrap yarn...phew 🤓
Hey there, wow you have been busy with the sock knitting! The ones where you are 2 stripes short… could you cut the tops/ cuffs off and use that to finish the foot and then add a contrast cuff? I’ve only knit one and a half pairs 😂 but I feel like people who knit tubes do this? 🤷🏻♀️ Love the new sweater you’re knitting, the colours are beautiful ❤
Thanks for hanging out with me 💕 My day job has been January quiet, so I've been knitting socks like it's my job 🤓 I'm lucky that I've got a friend with that yarn for the short stripy socks, so I don't have to burn them 😂😂
Hi - just subscribed to your channel having found you by winning one of your patterns ( I chose the ravishing sock) from the lovely Ailie at The Thoughtful Knitter podcast for taking part in her Coorie in MAL I have just finished my first ever colourwork socks and mine too so are the easy Peasy socks - how bizarre a coincidence is that?!
Hi Nancy, you mentioned you used an Isabell Kraemer yoke pattern as a base for a yoke when you don't want to use the one given in another pattern. Would you be happy to share which pattern you use? Sx
If you can’t find more WYS yarn you could potentially cut off the ribbing and use that and do the ribbing in a contrast colour. It’s good to hear that you can now donate blood. I also wasn’t able to because of spending 6 months in England and France in the late 80s Also, ummm, I think that handspun skeins is about the same weight because…more yardage in the one with more weight?? 😬
LOL!!! In my head it made sense 🤓 The difference between the 2 skeins is primarily their colour lengths. I swear I have an out of body experience while I'm yakking away 🤣🤣 Luckily I will not have to burn those socks. I have a friend who has a scrap of it...phew 😉
Hi Carol❣️ I've talked about it in quite a few videos. I don't have a section talking about it specifically...just when I talk about modifying my sweaters. You can also check the notes on my Ravelry pages that are linked below the video. If you have any questions, let me know and I will answer them either in the next video or if there is enough interest, I could do a short separate video talking about it 🤓
I ordered your new sock pattern as I just might want to make some DK socks. However, I did not see the pattern on the front page of Ravelry. I had to look up your name to find the pattern. ???
Thanks for finding it. I don't get on the front page of Ravelry....only the big names manage that 🤓 But I always put a link in the description box to the pattern as well.
How pretty you look today! Love your snowy woods picture!
Happy sipping…and knitting!
Well Penny...how lovely of you to say 🥰 Thanks for hanging out with me❣️
Hi Nancy, another great video. My suggestion when it comes to your socks that are 2 stripes short, if you have to rip back, I would just rip back the toe ofvthe first sock then rip back the 2 stripes that you are short on for the second sock and then reknit with the contrast colour. Well done for donating blood! I remember the blood issues in the early 1990's very well. Enjoyed seeing your projects. Cheers
Thanks for spending some time with me Jacqueline 💕 I'm so happy to be able to donate again❣️
Absolutely agree about putting body hold and working sleeves.
So much easier isn't it?!?
I would not have picked that yarn to knit with but I love the sweater 💗 Thank you❣️ I go to yarn shows with no plan and completely go with the mood 🤓
What a wonderful way to start my day! Your Wilfreda looks amazing. Not a sock knitter but always enjoy seeing your designs. Your Sussex weekend sounds like a lot of fun - enjoy!
Thanks for hanging out again Beverly 💕 I always try to have other knits to show, because no everyone is as obsessed with socks as I am 😎

Love your podcasts and all the information and techniques you show or talk about 😊
Thanks Barbara 💕 You must be happy to be back in current time instead of the back episodes 🤓 It's so cool for me to know that you're doing that❣️
Great podcast Nancy. Your Musselburgh Hat looks great on you and I think it compliments your hair too.
Thanks for hanging out Diane 💕 I wore my Musselburgh yesterday with those very cold winds and it was so cozy and warm. I loved wearing it 💙

I love your podcast! Thanks for sharing good stuff. Have a great week.

Ahhh....Helen!! That's why I stopped myself from apologizing 🫢🤓
@@knitsiphappy and now because of you I just spent $100 at Turtle purl ….. all your fault!!! 😂
@@helenhyatt9398 Ooohhh...what colors did you get?
@@knitsiphappy allsorts of course! Trench coat and comic strip! 😉
Hi Christine 👋 That's a great plan for the year...good to have some plain knitting as well as something that needs a bit more concentration 🤓 Thanks for spending some time with me 💕
Great podcast. Congratulations on 4000 subscribers. The necklace is lovely. Love your socks!
Thanks for spending some time with me 💕 I can't wait to give away that lovely necklace 😎
Thanks for keeping me company while I finished a cuff on a sleeve from my naughty pile. Always a pleasure to watch your podcast Nancy. Happy Knitting.
Thanks Wendy❣️❣️ I hope the time passed quickly for the naughty cuff 🤓
Thanks for being here again Mary❣️ I'm not sure where the organizers are going...I've got 3 of them 🤔
That Ranunculus was such a find and I jumped on it 🤓
Another great podcast
Thank you
Thank you Kim 😊 I do enjoy coming for a chat 🤓
If you can't get the right 2 grams of West Yorkshire Spinners Fairy Lights yarn to finish your sock, you could cut into the top and reuse the yarn from the ribbing, and knit the ribbing in a contrast color.
Thankfully I think I've got some coming, so I don't have to do any ripping 🤓 Thanks for the suggestion 😊
So relaxing to watch your podcast and knit away! See you soon!
Thanks Heidi❣️ Can't freaking wait for our weekend 🤓
Hi Nancy , the Njord Sock Pattern is out and I Love IT ❤ here in in Germany we have 6ply and 8ply Sock yarn in 150gramm Balls,so i am glad not running out of yarn 😊 . The Wilfreda Pattern will be the next that i cast on😍thanks for showing that ❤. Have a Goodyear time and Happy knitting 🧶🧶🧵🪡
Yay❣️❣️ 150g will be perfect 👌 No yarn chicken for you 🤓 I hope you love your Njord Socks 🧦
Really want to see all your socks in that organizer!
Socks are all washed and waiting for me to have time to record a little something showing the organizers in action 🤓🧦
I'm excited for your DK Njord sock pattern release. Love them! See you soon!! 🧦🍷🤓
Thanks Jeanette ❣️ 9 days 🥳🥳
Watching your podcast and you just tried on your Musselburg hat. You said that you don't often wear a hat, but you should. You looked so cute in that hat. I think you are a hat person! Wear more hats.😊
Haha! Thanks Janet...I've actually worn it twice this week and I really like it 😎
Oh my gosh! I can’t believe you found the sweater in a thrift store 😳. Wow! Great find, but too bad it even ended up there.
I know! I wonder about the maker...was the sweater gifted and not loved? Or did the maker not like it and donate?
Hi Nancy, another great podcast, cheered me no end when it popped up today, I'm currently knitting your 'Let's Stay Home' socks, I am not a fast knitter but one is complete and I'm halfway through the cuff on the second - such a beautiful pattern. Loved seeing your lime green DK socks, they really are stunning. Thanks for all the tips and pointers, they are all being added into my knitting notebook. You're helping me become a better knitter so thanks for that x
Thanks for hanging out with me 💕 So glad you're enjoying Let's Stay Home 🧦 ...I think they're fun to knit 🤓 I do love coming to have a chat❣️
Thanks so much Melissa for your very kind words 🥰 The bee necklace is adorable isn't it?!? Hopefully we'll get to the 4k for the next episode 🤞
Thank you Nancy for the podcast and beautiful sock patterns. The Njord may be my first dk sock.
I really appreciate you taking the time to say hello 👋 💕 Thank you for spending some time with me ❣️
You should be so proud nearly 4000 subscribers!
Yay Shelly...we got over 4000, so now I will be able to send that beautiful necklace out into the world 🥰
Another great episode.
Thank you for being here with me again 💕
Happy knitting Nancy! Your Wilfreda is looking beautiful, love the colour too. Just started the cables today on mine after a couple restarts. Your new sock pattern is lovely.
Thanks for spending some time with me Helen 💕 I've decided to save my Wilfreda for the knitting weekend because it's perfect stockinette in the round now 🤓 My Zweig is getting lots of love❣️
Great video. Love the Njord sock pattern and will look forward to purchasing it from Love Crafts. 🇬🇧
Thanks Elaine❣️❣️It should be there now 🤓 Let me know if you have any issue's
@@knitsiphappy Thank you. Pattern now purchased from Love Crafts. Looking forward to knitting the socks.
@@elaineenstone6834 That's great to know that it's working. I don't get many sales from Lovecrafts, but it's nice to have a Ravelry alternative
It is fun!
Yay 🥳 Thanks for always saying hello ❣️
What beautiful knit Jewelery. I love the new sock pattern and have mine purchased. Now to find some yarn to knit them
Thanks so much for trying the Njord pattern 🧦 I hope you love knitting your socks❣️ I'm tempted to knit another pair...we'll see if I can squeeze them into the rotation 😊
I sat knitting on a scrappy monster Musselburgh while I listened to you. I always enjoy your chat. Thanks for the company on this very snowy NS day.
Yes...it was a messy day yesterday and how lovely to be able to spend it cozied up with a fun knit 🧶🧶 Thanks for hanging out with me again 😊
That was a lovely video
Thank you very much Glenda 🥰
Hello from Swansea, Illinois. This is my first time watching your channel and I subscribe to your channel. I really enjoyed watching you 😊
Hello Janet 👋 Welcome and I'm so happy that you enjoyed hanging out with me 💕 Happy knitting 🧶
LisaR:Next time , try using a straight needle for the Italian cable CO , it's much easier !
Oh that would make the process a little easier 🤓💡 Thank you 💕
I always enjoy your soothing podcasts, even though I don't make many socks.
Hi Sue...Welcome 👋 Thanks for giving me a try and spending some time with me. Happy knitting on those WIPS 🧶
So glad you were sipping along with me 🍷🥂 Yes..I've had some lovely offers of Fairy Lights so I don't have to burn those socks 😎🤣
LOL, that's good. They're too pretty to burn.@@knitsiphappy
Brad always asks who I'm talking to....my knitting friends on my pad or TV 😂😂😂
I have projects in my Ravelry queue that I never, ever look at 🤓
I'm also excited for the sock KAL 🥳
@@knitsiphappy lol like the carmenere (making a comeback) which I like the tiny pop of spicy weirdly as I don’t like most Syrah spicy.
Carmenere is another one of my absolute favourites
Hi Nancy, lovely to see you. Beautiful socks and loving your sweaters. Can’t wait for the new sock pattern too. Have a wonderful week. Hugs ❤❤❤
Thanks Linda ❣️ I'm loving everything on my needles right now and how fun is that 🤓 Happy knitting to you 🧶🧶
OK, so you enabled me, yet again!.
Mult succes❤️!
🥰
@@knitsiphappy there are much nicer sock yarn out there.
Good on you for donating blood!
I think you can tell how happy I was to be able to donate again ❣️❣️
Enjoyed another episode from you, thank you, Nancy! ❤
Thanks so much for spending some time with me Sandra 💕 I love coming for a chat 🤓
Congratulations on your 4k subs.
Thanks Ruth 🥰 It's only a number, but still fun to think about 🤓
What a way to start the new school off! Watched a wee hit before I went into school and have just finished the rest of the episode. 4K is oh so close I see! 🎉🎉🎉
Thanks so much Diane❣️ Glad you could break it up before and after 🤓 4k is getting closer and closer. Happy knitting 🧶
sock thought: you could undo to just above the heel, take a little out of the leg and the redo the foot with the extra yarn - pain in the butt I know but better than redoing 2 whole socks ❤
Total pain the the button!! I might have burned them first 😂😂 Thankfully I have a friend with some, so I will be able to finish the damn thing 🤓
Such a great podcast as always!! You never cease to inspire me with all your beautiful knits. I found you during Christmas and thoroughly enjoyed your efforts during such a busy time!! Love the bee necklace!!
Well...thank you Michelle 🥰 That is a lovely thing to read today❣️ I do love coming to have a chat 🤓 Happy knitting until I see you next time
Take the toe off the other pair, rip back until you are at the same point in the pattern as the other sock and make longer blue toes on both. It will look like a design feature.
I've been very lucky Deborah❣️ I have a couple of yarny friends who both have some in their stash. Those socks are in the naughty corner until I get my hands on the scrap yarn...phew 🤓
Love the new sock pattern! Check out the TanTan sweater.

So lovely to watch and listen , thank you Nancy .
Hello again ❣️❣️ That's a lot of me in one day Caroline 😂😂
Petite Jarden by Anne B Hanssen would be lovely for your linen/silk skeins though you may need to add another skein to have enough meterage
Thanks for the suggestion...I'm heading over to Ravelry to have a look 🤓
@@knitsiphappy I've just finished knitting it & I'm thrilled with it.
Always wonderful. I enjoy learning about your local makers.
Thank you for being here Shelley 💕

Oh good idea Carol 💡 I've not knit a Tolsta yet❣️
Thank you for another great episode. I feel so relaxed now ❤
It's a pleasure to come and hang out 🤓💕
Hey there, wow you have been busy with the sock knitting!
Thanks for hanging out with me 💕 My day job has been January quiet, so I've been knitting socks like it's my job 🤓 I'm lucky that I've got a friend with that yarn for the short stripy socks, so I don't have to burn them 😂😂
I love your handspun. Have you been spinning for long? looks amazing
Thank you❣️❣️ I took a lesson in 2019 and have been hooked ever since
Hi - just subscribed to your channel having found you by winning one of your patterns ( I chose the ravishing sock) from the lovely Ailie at The Thoughtful Knitter podcast for taking part in her Coorie in MAL
I have just finished my first ever colourwork socks and mine too so are the easy Peasy socks - how bizarre a coincidence is that?!
Yay!! Congratulations 🎉 Ailie is lovely 💕 It's a small world amongst us knitters 🤓 What is going to be your 2nd colourwork sock?
Hi Nancy, you mentioned you used an Isabell Kraemer yoke pattern as a base for a yoke when you don't want to use the one given in another pattern. Would you be happy to share which pattern you use? Sx
Hi Sheila...it's the Laia pattern and my project page has details on how I merged the 2 patterns. Happy knitting until I see you again 🧶❣️
If you can’t find more WYS yarn you could potentially cut off the ribbing and use that and do the ribbing in a contrast colour.
It’s good to hear that you can now donate blood. I also wasn’t able to because of spending 6 months in England and France in the late 80s
Also, ummm, I think that handspun skeins is about the same weight because…more yardage in the one with more weight?? 😬
LOL!!! In my head it made sense 🤓 The difference between the 2 skeins is primarily their colour lengths. I swear I have an out of body experience while I'm yakking away 🤣🤣 Luckily I will not have to burn those socks. I have a friend who has a scrap of it...phew 😉
In which of your videos, do you explain about moving stitches from front to back on your garments, please and thank you?
Hi Carol❣️
I've talked about it in quite a few videos.
