    Spikes were a minimum in that weather and surprised at the amount of people not wearing them when I was out in the snow. Never been to Scafell Pike via the Corridor Route but always wanted to do it. I have one of those heated jackets which is great for regulating the temperature, as it has 3 heat setting plus an off setting too, really good in the cold weather. That was an ambitious plan you had for the day, yes, I would have been happy with just one as well. Great effort getting to the top in those conditions but cutting it fine with the daylight hours mind, especially with that outtake! Cheers Alan

      Cheers alan.. Yea I dont know how ive got by on previous snow outings without them.. life changer.. I was thinking at the time i could have done with one of your jackets, I had 6 layers on so I was quite snug.. Definitely a route Ill be back to this summer.. would love to explore a bit round there.. so many little secluded places just above the path.. Thanks for commenting as always lad, tek care :)

    Is there anything better than walking the fells in the snow? Care needed mind. Interesting to see you using spikes, something I never did but now wish I had. What great weather you had - clear and crisp.

    • @daveostlemountainman
      @daveostlemountainman  24 дні тому

      aye now ive walked in spikes i cant imagine ever not, such a massive change.. massive amount of sheet ice between seathwaite farm and stockly bridge, it would be difficult to get even to there without them.. the deep snow is very exhausting, like walking in quicksand.. cheers tek care :)

    Brilliant Dave. No mean feat what you achieved today in those condtions.and what a day you had for it! Ive done the corridor route twice in better conditions and its without doubt my favourite route to Scafell Pike. A lot more interesting than the main highways up. All the best for the New Year
