I was looking for the name of this game for a long time... In my childhood I played for a brief period but it got rooted in my mind as an awesome game.

The N64 version did get one exclusive level with the one based in the Titanic wreckage, but yeah after seeing videos of the two versions you can tell the people at Realtime Associates, the team who ported Gex to the N64, couldn't get everything over. The memory limitations of the N64 carts likely didn't help, but it's also possible the team wasn't given enough time or weren't experienced enough. The N64 port of Gex 3 was much less compromised (that port was handled by a different studio), it had all the levels from the PS1 version and surprisingly they found a good way to work some of the FMV sequences into the game.
I remember this game! I couldn't understand what was written and said (as I couldn't speak English as a child) but I got many of the movie references. The second stage really scared me, especially the part with the elevator.
Growing up with the PS1 version and then seeing the shortcomings of the N64 version, makes me feel happy I got to see Gex the way he was meant to be played.
Gex 2 on the N64 received a bonus wreck of Titanic area that wasn't part of the Sony PS1 versions of Gex 2: Enter the Gecko... which I didn't find out until years after the video game was sold in retail stores. 🤷🏼♂️🙂
The Nintendo 64 version of Enter The Gecko lacked the animation where the big bonus TV screens magically land onto the ground whereas the PS1 has that animation feature. The 64 version of Enter The Gecko instead shows that the big Bonus TV screens just appear like nothing happened.
My favorite part is the Titanic stage. Though I forgot where I left off in the game because it's been such a long time. Would love to play this game again. This was also during the experimental era of videogames. Way ahead of it's time. Back when games like Conker's Bad Fur Day was more of a big deal. Definitely should remake these classics, maybe even bring them back as Smash characters like with Banjo Kazooie in Ultimate.

There are instances of great music in this game like 1:36:50 ("In Drag Net"), but on multiple levels, there seems to be little music. I miss having a continuous soundtrack like in other platformer games...
The red ghosts and zombies or is franskenstein would scare me as a kid, along with the moving face in the wall. Wait wtf I never knew that titanic world was there at all.
I had a memory of a water level, but i dont see it here. Felt like there was an area with a huge water spot that i got stuck in and gave up, i remember it being barren without much there. I only rented this game and played it for a couple hours like 25 years ago so idk maybe

It wasnt under water, but rather there was a rather big expanse of water with very flat color design all around. Sane Trilogy, Spyro 2: Ripto's Rage!, Spyro 3: Year Of The Dragon, Croc: Legend Of The Gobbos, Sly Cooper And The Thievius Raccoonus, Gex: Enter The Gecko (Nintendo 64 Version), Sonic The Hedgehog (1991), Sonic 2, Sonic 3, Sonic CD, Super Mario Bros. (1985) and Kao The Kangaroo: Round 2. There will definitely be more, but these are the games I've played them and which I remembered. Note at Gex: Enter The Gecko, I've only played the Playstation version, but I know there's an underwater level in the Nintendo 64 version. I saw some days ago a smash ultimate leak, it was made after joker, it predicted hero and banjo, in dlc 4 was frisk but instead we got terry and a sans costume, also we will get extra dlc characters, and in that extra list gex was there , I'm not saying it will happen but since it predicted hero and banjo and a undertale character it think its possible.
I have this on n64. I originally had it on PS1 back in the day. I got the n64 version because it was 5 bucks about a year or so ago. I was a little disappointed. I never played this version before. It drove me nuts how blurry and slow it runs on the actual n64. Couldnt take it anymore so I bought the Ps1 version. It runs much better.
Chris D are you able to tell me if the voice lines are different from each other? Saw some PS1 gameplay that did NOT trip my nostalgia like this video does mostly because the voice. As a kid all the one-liners stuck with me
In my opinion the Play Station version is more complete than N64 I never play Play Station version but there are more levels specially the golden remote levels of prehistory scream and rez world
Nuh huh, Dana Gould as Gex is the best one. The Europe and Australian versions got different voice actors for each game in the trilogy. And the dude who voiced Gex for this game within those regions made Gex sound as if he was on the registered sex offender list.

I think the only issue is the pop culture references would likely need to be rewritten to be less outdated and more relevant to current pop culture.
