I agree, Legendary has to know what they want to do. I also prefer a more serious tone and I think in my opinion that balance was King of the Monsters, my favorite of the Monsterverse franchise. Godzilla vs. Kong opened a can of too out there that seems that New Empire is going to go full on ridiculousness which I’m worried will backfire.
@@randomkillerx2157 kotm wasn't that serious nor had a balance in tone, kotm was the movie that leaned closer to mindless fun. Especially when it's the same movie that got trashed on by critics for it's plot and fans reacted by saying "plots don't matter" to justify the flaws and downplay them. Ksi balanced the serious tone g14 had while having the lighthearted tone the latter entries had
@@ozvega.57 you do realize kaiju films need a story right? You don't need 20 minutes of action for the film to be good. Gamera's heisei trilogy didn't have that much action, had the SAME plots as the MV godzilla films and did so much more action and writing wise by comparison. There's a reason why those films are called some of the best kaiju films.
I'm wary of the MV going in a serious direction with both feet because they could be better at telling those stories. The margin of error is much smaller when investing in drama as the characters and motivations become paramount to the story. The first two Legendary Godzilla movies started with traumatic loss, and what followed never satisfied what was set up. They can indulge in the spectacle if they cannot satisfy the dramatic.
I want that to be the end of the monster verse. Godzilla: destroy all monsters (ft. Destroyah as the villain). As seeing as destroyah has similar powers to shin make him terrifying Ngl I think they should make King Kong after New empire since Kong is most likely taking scar king’s place by force
I think they should do is the next movie after GXK is a solo godzilla movie with Gigan and Biollante then do a solo kong movie (no clue what to have for that) then do a kong and godzilla movie with Destroyah and a new titan made by legendary
@@lastrexxii7509totally agreed, Hedorah and Biollante should be the next Toho monsters to be introduced in the Monsterverse as man made abomination. Then we can have Gigan come down from space and Destoroyah rise up from the ocean from a finale movie
Great video! I do want to see the Monsterverse go back to a tone like Kotm, maybe get some big Toho villains back but one thing is I want them to improve on overall keeping the story together fixing the timeline and making sure it all fits together. I do like the fact that there is a little consistency in directors with Adam Wingard doing 2 movies back to back but I don’t think Adam should direct the next, but instead get someone new that will fix the timeline/canon of the monsterverse and use a more serious tone.
@@Kaiju-bm4ts yea that was to corny. but for a future movie i hope its not just dark. serious but not depressive. with the light moments in the film being with loved ones etc. just hope they dont mess it up by leaning way to much on one or the other
I agree and disagree with some things in this video. I don’t have much to personally comment on regarding the future of the MV since Legacy of Monsters and GxK are the only live action continuations after GvK so far. I think I need to see those two projects finished to the end to get a feel for what they’re building up to (if anything). Biggest takeaway for me is a tighter, more consistent continuity.
I have the idea of a movie called Godzilla: Kingdom of the Monsters. Which takes place right after KOTM and follows Godzilla’s rule over the planet after defeating Ghidorah. This movie pays off many things that were setup but never got mentioned again. the cybernetic titans, the titans heading to Skull Island, the titans we never got to see on screen, Godzilla and Rodan’s rivalry expanding, and Alan Jonah’s character (If Charles Dance still has the energy to do this) Another idea is a Nature Documentary film following the many monsters. Bryan Cranston can get a second chance in being in a Godzilla movie by being the narrator. A good title can be called Godzilla: Planet of the Monsters. As a reference to the Anime film. All these movies lead up to Godzilla’s inevitable clash with Kong. We still have deaging technology in case Charles Dance gets too old or Millie Bobby Brown finally hits 20.
What I think is happening: considering the upwards trajectory of wackiness and unrealism the MV is opting for, Xiliens and Ultraman are definitely possibilities. As well as Godzilla / Kong crossovers every movie or so. Where I want them to go: more seasons of Monarch, a serious Godzilla 3, a Kong sequel with no connection really to Godzilla just so Kong fans (and I) can be happy, and, as you said, a Godzilla x Kong finale.
@@MaceDeMarco2010 imo i don’t really think ultraman could be in the MonsterVerse, but a very similar character that would fit very well in the MonsterVerse would be Jet Jaguar. If Jet ever comes to the MonsterVerse I want to see him and Godzilla team up, like in Godzilla Vs Megalon (1973)
About the whole “Monsterverse Becoming Showa Era 2.0” topic with the downward box office trend, you can say that with any Godzilla era. Heisei started strong but each movie grossed less, Millennium era was like a heart monitor with GMK and GAMG being the peaks. Not even the Reiwa era was safe, the Anime Trilogy still counts since they were released theatrically lol
No the anime movies arent comparable financially to the live action films since they have cheaper budgets, less marketing, and less amount of theater distribution
Rough list of ideas: -Skull Island s2 -Monarch s2 -Justice League vs GvK animated movie -Monsterverse v Pacific Rim fighting game -Godzilla vs Hedorah or whatever movie -Monarch s3 -Monarch G-Team 🔥 -Solo Kong movie
For me I'd probably go something like this: - Skull Island season 2 - Monarch Season 2 - Kong: Return To Skull Island - The Return of Godzilla - Mothra solo movie (can't think of a title) - Son of Kong - Godzilla x Kong: Destroy All Monsters - Godzilla x Kong: Final Wars
I hope they just do a solo Godzilla movie . Maybe a biollante villain or space Godzilla , and then for a final movie the final enemy showed me destroyah
Great take honestly. I would love to see the series sit somewhere between G14 and KOTM in seriousness. Slightly worried I may not like GxK, but trying to stay optimistic.
A sixth film is already in production. I’ve heard rumors of a seventh film. M:LOM has already been confirmed to be getting a second season. SK will likely get a second season. A MV theme park will open in France in 2025
The one thing I do want to eventually see is a Legendary Version of Destroyah, they dropped the Oxygen Destroyer, it only makes sense for them to Bring Destroyah into the Monsterverse It'll also give Monsterverse to Really make a Horrifying situation for it's human characters, hopefully they'll give us Less Quantity and More Quality The other franchise that did make me feel like you did with the lack of cohesive direction was the Star War Sequel trilogy, no consistency that just ended up being a giant mess of a story
Well, if GxK: The New Empire do well & great, I want the directors add these new movies & series in the MV series: Series: 1) Skull Island season 2 Netflix 2) Monarch: Legacy of Monsters season 2 Apple TV+ (center on the year 2019-2024 before the events of GvK & GxK: the new empire) Movies: 1) Mothra solo movie (her vs Battra) 2) Rodan solo movie (him with Varan & Quetzalcoatl vs a new Titan) 3) Kong: Hollow Earth (him with Suko vs Gorosaurus & Mecha Kong) 4) MV Gamera (him/her vs several monsters including Gyaos) 5) Godzilla 3 (him with Minizilla & Anguirus vs Mecha King Ghidorah, Biollante & Hedoran) 6) Godzilla vs Gamera (them facing each other but then teaming up against an unknown threat) 7) King Ghidorah solo movie (a new 2nd Ghidorah {be a protagonist not a villain} with Monarch's Jet Jaguar Jaeger vs Gigan & a new extraterrestrial titan) 8) Kong 3 (him with Suko, Gorosaurus & new Hollow Earth titans leave Hollow Earth & move to Skull Island but face off against a new Skull Island/Hollow Earth Titan) 9) Godzilla 4 (him with new Titans vs Spacegodzilla) 10a) Godzilla x Kong: Destroy All Monsters part I (Godzilla with Kong, Mothra, Rodan, Anguirus, new Ghidorah & Gamera vs Destoroyah & the Xiliens) 10b) Godzilla x Kong: Destroy All Monsters part II (Godzilla (+Minizilla) with Kong (+Suko), Mothra, Rodan Anguirus, new Ghidorah, Gamera, Monarch's new Mechagodzilla+Jet Jaguar Jaeger, along with all of the rest of the surface Titans & Hollow Earth Titans {plus new ones} vs the final main villain of the MonsterVerse: Monster X/Kaizer Ghidorah)+(but have both Godzilla & Kong not going to die at the end of the MV story).👍😉🌌
Agreed, mostly. I’d also make a film on where all the titans went after KOTM. Out of all the Kaiju, I’m curious on where Rodan went. Did he go back to the volcano? Is there a portal where he can go to part of the hollow earth? Leave out any humans, just Kaiju.
Monster verse is fine folks need to relax I think they’ll crank it up after the new empire so many possibilities. It’s only going to grow from here on out.
I feel they should bring in gerath back. He made Godzilla in 2014 feel so big and larger then life in a way the other films haven't captured as well. I feel a serious godzilla film would be a breath of fresh air and also get the general public more interested especially if they keep things secret like they did in 2014 generating hype and buzz around the film then the other films did showing off key plot details in the trailers like burning godzilla or mechagodzilla
I want to see a solo film where we get Godzilla, Biolante, and Destroyah. All three are the perfect foil to each other Godzilla is a balancing force, where as Biolante could represent “What if nature overcorrected”. Destroyah on the other hand, is man made, and would be an indirect counter with Biolante, while its nature, being a result of the Oxygen destroyer, would be a direct counter to Godzilla. A threat he would try to face alone but can’t. Essentially, it would be Godzilla vs Biolante, Biolante vs Destroyah, and Destroyah vs Godzilla. I really just want an Adaptation of Godzilla: Cataclysm.
@@joeysullivanTMI definitely love the crystal aesthetic, as I collect crystals irl and find them interesting. The fact the new villain is essentially an ice dragon is also awesome, but I hope Shimu turns out to be an antihero kind of villain, and not truly evil as its core like Scar King is.
That DAM style finale needs aliens. If we are gonna go full Showa, let's do it right. Tie into wherever Ghidorah came from. Gman makes a big, noble sacrifice at the end. We all cry a little. Epic. 😆
I feel that the hype wasn’t fully there cause of minus one and the hype will probably go up when the movie is about to be released, in my opinion they should bring back the other directors that made the other movies and have all four talk with legendary on how they want the universe to go in and have them make their movies connect in a way but it could also have the wackiness but also some films could be more grounded, hopefully this can happen
I think things have reached a point where legendary needs to be a bit more aware. Not just inside the franchise, but to the competition outside. GvK worked with a struggling movie industry which practically helped revive it. Now with things in full swing again, word of mouth is again key to interest. Also, has there been any public critiques from the TOHO executives about how the current state is? We have gotten pretty far this time around but it can be hard to maintain a good standing impression. Personally, I'm holding on to faith that things are going to be just fine.
From what toho thinks about the films, so far are we gotten at praises from them as they enjoy the monsterverse. It seem they are going in the routes where they like what America is doing while they can still do their own things hence the rewia era
Dude Legendary GZ is run by a guy that saw a couple AVGN videos. By his own admission. He's not even a real fan and never actually "got it". They're as fake and shallow as Hollywood is. That's why his GZ films are empty of anything but superficial fanservice and generic contrivances. Don't praise dogshit.
Here’s a good idea. Make movies after KOTM and gradually build up to Godzilla’s inevitable clash with Kong. To make this easy for all y’all. Monarch Saga: 1973-2015 Godzilla Saga: 2015-2024 Kong Saga: 2024-Present
one things for sure, Wingard is out after New Empire...I mean, just take a look at his busy film schedule, he has lots of big IP unrelated to the Monsterverse coming up.
Happy New Year D Man, I hope you keep up your enthusiasm! I hope Legendary's films can rein in the silliness enough to get us some more grounded, well-rounded, and better written human characters. Without scale it just looks like playing with action figures. Growl, roar, pew pew pew!
Great thoughts man and I agree! I wanna see another Goji film that has a tone that's in between 2014 and 2019. I think that's the perfect blend and they could have the final destroy all monsters film have a dark and gritty tone but still have a feel good satisfying ending to make everything come full circle
I feel these new characters like shimo and skar are cool. But we need to see some old traditional villains too. Like we could easily see mecha king ghidorah, mechagodzilla 2, biollante and even destroyah maybe for the finale of the series. Or anguirus, rodan comes back, mb gigan too? All of these kaiju are there for them to add back.
Where did you hear that people aren’t excited? It gained 24 million views for the first trailer in under a month and people being negative about it is just a loud minority from what I’ve seen. Heard way more people complain about people complaining than people actually complaining about the movie. We don’t know how it’ll turn out like you said tho, might surprise people, might be a huge flop. I hope it does great becuase I love the direction the Monsterverse is going currently.
It’s just that if you listen to people who are in the industry or mainstream reviewers, it didn’t generate any buzz and was generally received as “I guess Godzilla fans might like this.”
@@DMan1954 I’ll give you that, I’m just saying it doesn’t really mean few general audiences are interested though. Sorry if I came off as rude, I mean my post more as a question than an insult.

I hope that one day the monsterverse can become the new MCU and have the same traction getting new shows and spin off movies with new monsters, I would also finally love to see the battle for Washington that we didn’t get to see in KOTM. I also think Godzilla should be a little more serious than Kong.
Lol they already do... Its literally called the monsterverse and they just made monarch tv show. They should do a mothra spin off next. Everyone loves mothra
Ya i gotta agree with you D. I dont mind some aspects of the direction the monsterverse is going, but i do miss some of the more grounded components from the first 3 films. I'm really looking forward to GxK, but i hope the movie doesn't stray like what the MCU films did and ruin itself.
Your pitch sounds way better. Plus I’m all for Godzilla and Kong having separate films again, I feel it would give both of them a chance to be in the spotlight without one monster having more screen time than the other. If they do eventually make a final film, surely they’ll need to dish out as much effort as possible to make have a lasting impact.
I have the idea for a film. Godzilla: Kingdom of the Monsters. It’s basically Captain America: Civil War. Set right after the events of KOTM, Rodan has grown strong enough to equal Godzilla and begins to lead his own group of titans to battle Godzilla and his titans to see who is the one true king of the Monsters. Team Godzilla: Godzilla Methuselah Behemoth Scylla Barb Rodan: Abaddon Baphomet Camazotz Sargon Mokele Mbembe
Along with figuring out what tone it wants to be, I think the Monsterverse could also use more monsters. No, I don’t mean more Toho monsters. I mean beyond that. There are so many interesting monsters throughout movie history to draw from, and I feel like something called the Monster*verse* ought to take advantage of that. Rhedosaurus, the Kraken, the Giant Claw, etc. etc. And they don’t all have to be kaiju/fight Godzilla either. I wouldn’t mind a smaller scale threat like a few giant ants from Them or something along those lines. Might help avert a Godzilla/Kong burnout as well if we let the big guys rest now and then.
I think more smaller threat monsters would be cool and i agree it doesn’t matter if it’s toho or original monsters we’ve had a lot of big world ending threats let’s have some smaller threats
Probably one of my more favorite takes on the monsterverse. As much as I love how the monsterverse is doing it's own thing, it should absolutely start planning an actual direction with the story, taking notes from the MCU in it's prime and even themselves to an extent with skull Island and KOTM. Use shows like Skull Island and LOM, to expand the monsterverse further. Give monsters like mothra and Rodan big dedicated episodes instead of risking it on solo movies (a really smart idea that I applaud you for). Give Godzilla and Kong time apart in their separate movies but still mention each other as important figures of each other's worlds (maybe have moments where Godzilla is still mentioned as a prominent figure in a Kong movie, or a moment where Godzilla remembers his encounters with Kong in a Godzilla movie, something like that). Have an endgame in mind (ideally an adaptation of Destroy all monsters but on a much grander and cinematic scale). I think you could also, maybe, play with the idea of a multiverse where you can reference Godzillas and kongs from past films/eras, but given how much people are suffering from multiverse fatigue, it's best to avoid committing to a multiverse storyline for now. But finally and most importantly imo, incorporate more characters from the Godzilla and Kong Mythos in meaningful ways. Characters like Angirus, Gigan, Biollante, Destoroyah, Mecha Kong, Gorosaurus (or a titan very reminiscent of a T-Rex for kong to face), etc. Maybe even a third party Kaiju like Gamera if we're lucky. We can even incorporate human characters into the monsterverse as well. Ann Darrow, Jack Driscoll, Carl Denham, Kyohei Yamane, and many more that could be added in either as either cameos or key players. I'm really just spit balling ideas here. Though I wish these elements were added into the monsterverse's future, there's many other renditions of the monsterverse that probably do it more justice than I ever could. Either way, here's hoping to a memorable and thriving monsterverse in the future.
I watched your videos when Godzilla king of the monsters came out, didn’t keep up with the monster verse, saw the new trailer and got interested again so I have a feeling this movie will bring in a lot of viewers
I think it will do similar numbers to "King of The Monsters" to be honest, may be a tad better. Rampage had the advantage of having the biggest movie star on the planet in lead role (Dwayne Johnson), there is no mega star attached to this movie like "Skull Island' for instance which had a pretty star studded cast to draw audiences. The fact that Kong is involved might help. Call me insane but I think they should bring Michael Dougherty back, he was the one who knew how to balance the fantasy elements with a grounded approach the best.
I’d love to see the series explore the other monsters like mothra since she does have her own arch enemy or even introduce other toho monsters like Destroyah and Anguirus
I don't think Legendary needs to give the other Titans solo films. If they want to give Mothra a big role, they could just have her show up in another Godzilla or Kong sequel, or give her an anime. At this point in the MonsterVerse, would a Mothra-led film be all that distinct from a Godzilla or Kong solo movie? Every Titan, minus Ghidorah, has the same identity: prehistoric, mutated creatures that reside within the Earth and belong to an ecosystem that’s based on the consumption and distribution of radiation. Since every Titan has the same makeup (being consumers of radiation), it’s hard to make them unique from each other, apart from their roles in the ecosystem, personalities, and abilities. This is different from the previous toho films, where a lot of the monsters have unique origins, and can thus be differentiated better. Since nearly every monster had unique origins and characteristics, this allowed filmmakers to tell unique stories and give their films their own identity. Sure, MonsterVerse Mothra could bring a more mystical element to the table, but other than that, would her film bring anything that new to the table? I think it would likely follow the same formula as the previous films: humans screw around with the natural world, an ancient monster(s) is either directly or indirectly unleashed by their actions, the lead (alpha) monster confronts the other monster(s) while the humans either involve themselves directly in the action or watch the kaiju from the sidelines. It would feel very repetitive. I think the biggest issue I have with the MonsterVerse is how Legendary has tried to “ground” and “naturalize” the Titans. It’s the biggest problem I had with G14 from the beginning, that the filmmakers watered down Godzilla’s nuclear subtext in favor of a less interesting “radiation is a naturally occurring phenomenon and author of giant monsters” idea. Godzilla went from being a prehistoric creature who was a victim of humanity playing God to a naturally radioactive creature standing at the top of an ancient ecosystem. It sucked the allegorical meaning and charm out of the monster IMO. When Legendary tries to “ground” and explain the biology of the Titans, on the one hand, it can be fascinating. But on the other hand, it limits how the monsters can be written. This setup is in stark contrast to how Toho handled their monsters. Each monster had its unique origin ranging from a mystical guardian of Japan to a giant robot designed by space apes to replace Godzilla. Now, I understand that not every idea would translate well for contemporary American audiences. But the toho films weren’t afraid to get wild and creative with their monsters. I think this explains the difficulty in making solo movies for the other Titans. Since every monster, minus Ghidorah and Mechagodzilla, shares the same origin, it makes the MonsterVerse feel small. Every Titan feeds on radiation and shares some ancient rivalry with one another. How exactly can you make them stand apart? Having most of them share the same origin is limiting, as only a finite number of unique conflicts can stem from it. I think Legendary may have pigeonholed themselves by making most of the monsters related. Don’t get me wrong, I love the MonsterVerse. But I believe assigning a natural origin to nearly every monster was a strange and limiting decision.
I kinda disagree about Godzilla playing a side character. I think Kong works a lot better when it comes to relating humans with titans. I think Godzilla should remain this force of nature that pops in to even the odds. His appearance, in my opinion, should be short, sweet, and convey a sense of power and terror that (almost) none of the other titans can match. Too much Godzilla makes it not feel special. Im one of the few who thinks Godzilla 2014s entrance into the film and screen time was damn near perfect. If the human characters were more interesting, I think people would have been more forgiving of Godzillas brief appearance. I weep for king ghidorah. awesome design, campy fate. oh well it was still a spectacle and thats all I expect from a monsterverse film. that being said, im really looking forward to gXk new empire
@@jackhamilton9604 I guess with monsterverse stuff, there’s a bigger picture going on. Godzilla is the king of the jungle right? The apex titan that keeps the status quo. We have that established. Now let’s learn more about the jungle, which is a more complex story than just Godzilla. You don’t have to agree with me. It’s just how I like my Godzilla movies. Half action/adventure, half horror/survival.
@@budfug8691 I feel that can still be done while still keeping Godzilla as a focus point. Like some people have theorised that Skar King will manipulate Kong, perhaps Godzilla could serve as the right type of mentor which go along with the potential of the theme that bond is thicker than blood and real family is the family forged
@@jackhamilton9604 if that's what you like. my only problem with it is the humanization of monsters. I dont particularly need Godzilla looking at kong like "et tu Kong?" as kong stabs him in the back. Theyre animals at heart, and though they may be clever at times, it doesn't come from higher brain function, but a need to survive. I dont know what you mean keeping Godzilla the focus. He's the main focus of the story because he has the most history with the rest of the world. That doesn't make him the main character though. not even the hero. he's the crux of narrative, and ultimately what ties everything together. Kong on the other hand, aside from looking somewhat human, is much better at emoting for a human audience. Hes the scrappy. the underdog, and its his interaction with Godzilla, being the "brawn", and kong being the "brain", that makes it so satisfying to see kong succeed. he had to work from the bottom to the top. Godzilla is more of the, "The party is over" type. An angry god ya know? I dont like it when he's the hero. minus one is what you get when you make a Godzilla centric film. great movie. Monsterverse isn't that
@@budfug8691 what I mean about keeping focus on Godzilla is well not making a special quest star in Godzilla vs Megalon, where he just shows up for the final battle in a story centered around another character. And I think with the Monsteverse Godzilla he's always been portrayed in a way to where you can tell what he's thinking, even in Godzilla vs Kong he was shown laughing. And I think some of his best character moments have been exploring the emotional side of him, like how he was mourning his son in Godzilla vs Destoroyah or the ending of Son of Godzilla, even the fans who just want Godzilla to be a tank with no personality who just destroys stuff admits the ending of that scene is heartwarming
Another problem with the Monsterverse and shared universes in general , which is touched on here to a certain extent, is that the supplementary material like the comic books should matter and be used in the future to help form a coherent story, but that doesn't seem to be the case with many elements being ignored or flatout contradicted by the films and Monarch show. The movies shouldn't be reliant on the comics for those who haven't read them, but at the very least I think the writers of the films should have some knowledge of the stories told in them and the films should recap important info or at least reference it in someway, otherwise what is the point to any of that and it feels like a slap in the face to fans who bought and enjoy those products. That way all aspects of the story feel connected, this is why many times the novelizations feel more like the complete version of the plot and the movies often times feel more like a highlight reel (which doesn't necessarily includes all of the best parts).
I think what I would do after Godzilla X Kong: The New Empire, is make Monarch season 2, then make a new solo Kong film then a new solo Godzilla film and finally another crossover between Godzilla and Kong.
After the success of Godzilla Minus One, it seems that Legendary Pictures is going in way different direction. What I'm trying to say is Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire is somehow going to some how Showa-era vibes, but they want it to focus a lot on the emotion in the monsters instead of the humans. The way they introduce Little Kong is almost like Son of Godzilla before the original title Son of Kong was thrown away and replaced with the title we have now. I think MonsterVerse needs to add Gamera into the series to have its MonsterVerse Gamera movie, then do Godzilla vs Gamera, and finally Destroy All Monsters-like scenario. That way they can take a break from it, and somehow resume the multi-franchise. That's something I would love to see in the MonsterVerse. After the second phase, then maybe, just maybe we can get a Godzilla x Gamera spinoff if Kadokawa Daiei Studio the owners of Gamera are alright with that. If we remember the concept art of KotM he was seen surrounding Godzilla with all the other Toho monsters, but it never came to fruition. Godzilla, King Kong, and Gamera are the three Kings of Movie Monsters and without them, we wouldn't have the love for Kaiju and Monster Movies, TV shows, and Video Games. These are my personal thoughts.
I think balance is the key here, if we have some more serious stories after The New Empire, it would probably help in the long run, and this is coming from someone who is personally more excited to see The New Empire than Godzilla Minus 1.
They can make movies of Godzilla movies set after KOTM which answers the plot lines that were left unsolved in KOTM. Here’s my ideas for some movies that build up and eventually lead up to Godzilla’s inevitable clash with Kong. Godzilla: Kingdom of the Monsters: This movie follows Godzilla’s rule over Earth after defeating Ghidorah as he battles rogue titans Godzilla: War of the Monsters: Rodan becomes an Alpha to a group of titans and goes to war with Godzilla and his gang of titans. Rodan is the one who sent them to Skull Island. Godzilla: Planet of the Monsters-This one is a movie completely set in the titans’ POV. We get to see the mundane life of Godzilla and his titans as they keep balance to the Earth Reign of Godzilla: An animated tv series much like Skull Island which follows Godzilla as he battle various monsters much like Godzilla: The Series. This movie can develop the Russels better and I consider it to be the Clone Wars of the Monsterverse.
@@hudsonthejojo2825 Rodan can be like Vegeta in terms of a hotheaded and prideful rival who wants to surpass with the main character. Maybe when he finds out Godzilla has evolved, he tries catching up be evolving into Obsidian Rodan with a spiral ray. So yeah. Basically Rodan is Vegeta, Kong is Pikkon, and Ghidorah is Frieza. “You see, Ghidorah. You’re not dealing with the average turkey anymore!”
I really hope it goes into a similar Final Wars style ending with Monster X or Keizer being the last monster Godzilla and Kong fight. If they can pull it off, I think introducing Aliens that are smaller offspring of Alien Kaiju like Ghidorah, Gigan and Megalon would be cool. Definitely want almost every Toho monster to be reincarnated, since it was such a massive plus in King of the Monsters. As far as Kong goes, I think he can do well in solo movies that are a little more emotional and sincere like how the 2005 movie was.
I like that the monster verse has its own titans however I feel there are a few essential ones they need to bring from Toho. - Anguirus ( Alive not bones) - gigan - hedorah

First, I'll make sure to see Godzilla X Kong a few times to do my small part with the box office so the Monsterverse has time to make corrections. Unless it's terrible, which is hard to imagine with Godzilla. I really with to see Godzilla Destroy All Monsters type of movie (without the alien threat); but, Godzilla ruling over a lot of kaiju as the King of the Monsters.
Maybe for the serious godzilla film they actually have godzilla be outright evil again. Maybe after the oxygen destroyer and mechagodzilla, and then something happens in a new film that causes for humanity to have lost itself respect from godzilla and he outright destroys the city
I think the idea of putting more into the Monarch series to get mini movies for individual monsters would be nice. So let's put in some fanfiction: For the big movies the next movie I'd focus on Kong with his new family and how the more intelligent titans interact. There is a good chance most of the great apes are near Kong's level of intelligence, so setting something up between them, the tribe below and monarch would make sense. I would focus not to much on Kong, but on a group of great apes including Suko going to explore an area together with some human allies under insistance of one Great Ape who had found weird egg shells that made most of them somewhat excited. Once down at the location they find a lot of skeletons of Great Apes and of Godzilla's species. Monarch identifies however traces of Muto's as having been the ones to take down all of the titans there. However no Muto is to be found, not even their spores. In stead they soon find many more broken eggs which are overly obvious of several titan species. Finally they find a single living creature, a black giant larva. While at first it looks passive, as the group approaches it quickly sprays titan silk over them, trapping the whole group but Suko and a few Iwi. They realize they are powerless against this giant larva and need to come up with a plan. They gather materials to use fire against the larva as it's silk seems vulnerable to it. However as they return, they find a giant coccoon and several of the great apes are dead, looking drained. Suko in anger tries to burn down the coccoon, but only the silk shell goes up while the chitin inside remains undamaged. A few more attacks that fail makes Suko tumble into a cave where he comes to to find an intact titan egg. The Iwi recognize it for what it is and urge Suko to take along the giant egg and to retreat after creating a collapse on top of the coccoon. Once at the Great Apes all kind of commotion due to the egg, only stopped due to Shimu downright grabbing the egg and retreating with it to it's lair. The final scene is of the burried coccoon starting to hatch and rocks being blown off as Battra rises. The after credits scene starts up a short story about Dagon as that titan lived in the hollow earth for a while in a more peaceful time. However Dagon and his kin as well as the proto great apes they live side by side with get attacked by the Muto. This results in a massacre with just a few great apes able to escape. One carrying along one of the eggs of Dagon while another egg rolls into the cave we saw earlier in the movie. Dagon goes berserk and as the alpha titan of then goes after the Muto while the survivors go into hiding. While Dagon chases the Muto to the outside earth the egg under the care of the great apes gets given to Shimu, who takes it into the in between where time goes different and our Godzilla hatches from it, all seen in a fast forwarding style. Then it stops at the spot the new egg gets placed there.
I agree in all honesty I thought there was gonna be a after credit for GvK featuring the Xiliens, which makes sense it can explain how the technology in APEX is so damn advanced in such a short time, I mean they already teased it in KOTM stating that King ghidorah is from space, and two I think mortha can definitely hold her own in a solo movie she just as well known as godzilla and Kong, I mean minus one prove you can do a low budge monster movie and bank, well done correctly that is.
Thank you, D'man! I couldn't have said it better! Cover the pink up, make him blue. Let the pink be a temporary power up sort of like his fire pulse form from King of the Monsters. Return to a more grounded monsterverse. Honestly, the series music has been a bit of a disappointment after Bear's score in King of the Monsters. I wish they'd kept him on for these other two films...
I definitely think they need more solo films to build back up to the team ups. Too many team ups loses the excitement for them. Introduce some new monsters for Kong to fight, and do like Biollante or Gigan for Godzilla. It’s way too soon for Destroyah.
I think world building is more important to the Monsterverse than having a serious tone or intricate human story. As of right now the monsters kind of feel 2 dimensional with how they are depicted and is an issue when the entire universe is centered around them. If they flushed them out more it could end up allowing for the story to naturally build around them. I dont think they should go the way of minus one or shin because that's not what it has been set up to be and im not sure that's what fans of the monsterverse want. Shin and -1 were relatively successful for japanese films, but are still small fish compared to most other films when it comes to the monsterverse and other block busters. Could this be due japanese films being niche or the lack of a english dub? Sure, but it could also be something that the average joe just doesn't want to see, preferring what monsterverse has to offer than those movies.
I think they need to bring in more characters to really solidify the Monsterverse as a universe. Doesn’t even need to be old monsters. New exciting monsters that can lead movies or series. I’d start it off with a big brawl movie of a ton of titans and see what people think of the new titans.
so if i were to make a mv series gxk onwards, i'd go like this: - A Godzilla movie featuring any of the toho monsters, potentially Bolante or Megagurius or Gigan. These 3 monsters r extremely detailed, would be new starts to the franchise and would develope the mv. I would conscider making a godzilla movie simply cuz of the tone shift. We had 2 "fun" movies prior to this (gvk and gxk), so going dark for a while will be fresh. Another fun thing to introduce is Godzilla's son, Junior, adding some emotional scenes with the monsters themselves and setting things up. - a Kong movie featuring a newly made monster in the hollow earth. Over here, the mv is free to make whtever monster they wanna make, they have the creative freedom. I wouldn't have the movie entirely take place in hollow earth, but rather take it to NYC in the end. It's only fitting to have a Kong movie in NYC. For Kong's enemy, i'd introduce the V Rexes if i were the director. From a marketting pov, this'll be great, seeing a classic come back to the big screen. I'd have multiple of these monsters with one leader of the pack. - a final destroy all monsters movie, with Destroyah being the main villian. Although the main plot could revolve around Godzilla and Destroyah (given the cinematic history between them in 1995), I'll have Kong, and even Mothra play an equally important role in the movie. I'd want the tone similar to KOTM, except this time, the entire hollow earth would be at stake too. The ending could be similar to the ending in Godzilla vs Destroyah in 1995, with Godzilla dying, and also cementing his legacy, with his son taking up the mantle as the new Godzilla and the new King of the monsters. Kong will be crowned King Kong, and Mothra will be cemented as the bridge between the surface and hollow earth. In terms of tv, I'd have a monarch s2 ofc, and will go how u said u wanna go honestly, each ep being it's own entity for each monster. At the same time, i'd set up a muto prime plot too somewhere along the lines. This is how i'd finish the mv for the time being, and prolly let toho take the spotlight w the godzilla movies. Give it a few yrs later, and the mv potentially makes a comeback.
You nailed it. I think great stories begin with good endings--and in a time where production/post are blended until the eleventh hour of a film's release to satisfy suits and focus groups, its surely easier for franchises to grow clumsier or less committed to "knowing how stories end," consecutively or conclusively. But, that negligence always results in injury/death to profits/enthusiasm by a 1000 cuts. Marvel raised the bar for this phenomena more than I ever thought possible. But the Monsterverse is far less guilty, and I think, far more salvageable than Marvel since 1) it doesn't openly spurn fans, 2) is tethered to Tohos "legacy-mindedness," and 3) Minus One exists. The latter of which, I hope rubs off heavily on the future Monsterverse, according to your plan or one like it. As for a Neo-Showa era, I don't mind if two different flavors of Godzilla are served--as long as my "Mint Chocolate Chip Godzilla" and the "Bubblegum Rainbow Sherbert Godzilla" remain neatly divided with their own scoops. Don't "let them fight"--but do "let the kids have their fun," if possible :) And people don't always want their usual choice all the time, either--but no one ever wants to pay for something they aren't asking for. And that's ok! You said a lot and you said it well, bro. Stay up!
I don’t think they should’ve killed ghidorah at the end of KotM, instead they should’ve had him fly off into space and plot his revenge, having him become a looming threat and everyone fearing his return
I’m liking where we’re going at the moment, but if I’d have to say, my biggest criticism would be with adding Toho monsters. What I feel a lot of people are missing when watching Monsterverse movies is that they wanna try and make something new, something interesting, something unique that can stand on its own 2 feet and not be coddled by any other things so they can still be a recognizable separate entity away from everything else, people currently compare it to the MCU with how it’s currently going as a franchise and I can’t help but feel adding more Toho monsters to the MV is gonna make that worse, “make a unique and fully fleshed out franchise? No thanks, let’s add big Kaiju names into the Monsterverse cuz we’re making a cinematic universe!!!” I can’t help but feel adding more Toho monsters into the frame would ruin what the Monsterverse was trying to build for so long since 2014 and Whenever I hear people talking about how Toho monsters should be in the Monsterverse, they talk about it like Toho Kaiju are gonna be our saving grace for the Monsterverse like it’s not trying to be different and rather be just like the original movies. Plus whenever people really wanna add more monsters from Toho they never really consider how hard it’s gonna be to even have the rights in hand since it was so difficult to get Ghidorah, Mothra and Rodan, so TL;DR, I don’t think we need Toho monsters in the Monsterverse, and maybe we should try and let the Monsterverse be its own thing.
Finding out where the 3 headed king dragon 🐉 came from would be nice. And maybe showing that he isn’t the only one. Or adding more 🩸 blood and surprises to make people truly fear the monsters. A monster is supposed to be terrifying. And a monster movie should have you looking around afraid when you leave the theater.
Let it continue! I'd also think we need a sequel to Pacific Rim and maybe we could get a crossover where Godzilla and Kong Battle the Kaiju of Pacific Rim.
In all honesty i think the MV is heading in a positive direction where it expand the lore and build up for future installments of the franchise unlike marvel and DC. Now they have a few flaws whenever it comes to plot and character development for the human characters along with trying to keep the continuity in tact (due to netflix skull island and legacy of monsters), While creating a decent story and mythology for the titans at the same time. But i would say that legendary needs to plan and think things through more often whenever it comes to the timeline such as creating prequel installments that ties to the previous films for example, And if it was up to me for those installments, i would have the netflix skull island series take place in the 1930s (years before the events of 1973-95) and is about the victims of the Wanderer ship being stranded on skull island where they have to fight for survival and find a way out (paying homage to the 1933 king kong film). While making legacy of monsters take place in 1940-50s where explains the origins of monarch and their history with godzilla and the titans which leads up to 2014 instead of what the series is now. So in conclusion i think the future of the MV will create more installments with development, plot, creativity, and decent lore without errors until its the right time to give it a finale. But they just need more time to figure things out in the future.
Also, I think the MV having different styles and tones is a good solution since it helps the franchise expand and have more world build. Cuz if they kept on making each installment, have the same exact tone it would be boring and bland.
I would love a destroy all monsters Remake like someone has take. Control of all one of each species of titan and cause them to destroy the most populated areas and capitals and terraform the planet similar to what ghidorah was doing
I remember when the “Son of Kong” rumors first came out there was a lot of vocal disappointment from the community. So they probably added Godzilla in for that reason. But I personally don’t mind if it would have been a solo adventure. I love Kong in the MV, but I don’t mind if Godzilla pokes his head in.
They got their Kong hollow earth stories. Now its time to have a Godzilla movie that concentrates on Godzilla and back to the basics, building up to the inevitable final chapter of monsterverse.
Maybe it concludes the story of KOTM with Monarch’s battle with the ecoterrorist, Alan Jonah and his manmade Titan, Biollante. Godzilla and Anguirus team up to prevent the next mass extinction. In Monsterverse Mythology, Anguirus is a sub-relative of Godzilla that has awakened in Siberia and his role in the Natural Order is to prevent the Permafrost from melting. Which the ancients called him the God of Ice.
14:36 doesn't it though? the whole first scene is set during the events of skull island, and them finding the files in the bag randa threw sets up the plot
I know it means we would need to introduce a new studio/ a franchise purchase, but a Gamera solo film could be a good pallet cleanser. Then a Godzilla film with either Biolante or Hedorah as the antagonist seems like a solid choice.
2 movies I NEED and think may actually happen cuz they have a perfect opportunity with the way they set it up 1. King Kong movie after new empire. Where Kong is finally king of the kings after most likely taking scar king’s place by force 2. Godzilla: destroy all monsters. The final movie and the end of the MV With destroyah as the villain. And since he has powers similar to shin make him terrifying and they already used the oxygen destroyer
If the definitely can get itself a new direction to go, I can definitely see a new cinematic universe coming from them, and possibly a bunch of old and new Kaiju making their appearance. My top four would have to be Biollante, Space Godzilla, Kiryu, and Gamera. Biollante actually has an avenue for coming into the Monsterverse since the Titans leave behind large amounts of plants from their radiation as shown in KOTM, I am half convinced we’ll see some form of reference to Space Godzilla in New Empire, Kiryu has an avenue as well since Mechagodzilla already exists and it would be interesting for Monarch to utilize that, The ORCA, and the bones of the other Godzilla seen in the 2014 film to make a much better Mechagodzilla, and it’s sort of obvious why we would want Gamera. But it’s unlikely we’ll see any of these if Legendary and Toho can’t figure out if the Monsterverse has a future post New Empire and Legacy of Monsters.
A stand alone Godzilla movie vs Biollante with an almost throw away fight between Destroyah form 1 and Godzilla. Then a Kong sequel where he defends Skull Island from Destroyah form 2. And then another team up movie with Godzilla and Kong and maybe some others fighting against the final form of Destroyah.
I couldn’t agree with you more on what you said on this video. I personally feel Legendary and Warner Bros. Need to rethink their strategies when doing the next movies. I would love a Solo Godzilla film where he fights another Toho Monster and maybe introduce Godzilla Junior. I would like to see Godzilla be a father again however it should be serious. I would like if they went back to the serious root. Maybe have Godzilla and the other monster fight in Tokyo? A Kong solo movie in Hollow Earth would be cool. Maybe bring in Gorosaurus as an enemy and then turned ally. As for the villain I don’t know? Maybe Mechani-Kong? And yes Kong back in New York most definitely. I do agree that for the next movies Godzilla and Kong should go separate since I feel they work better when not together. That way you could develop them more and continue to tell their stories until it’s the right time to bring them back together. Yes! I hope season 2 of monarch has an episode dedicated to Mothra and Rodan. Even though it’s confirmed Mothra will be in GxK however I would like to see Rodan make a comeback because he was very underutilized. I still love the Monsterverse and enjoy what they have done. However I hope once GxK is done they could come up with a strategy to improve on the next films. Also Happy New Year, D-Man 🎉
If it does VERY poorly, then I think that this will be the end. If it does fairly good, then there will be a possibility of this continuing. If this does gangbusters, then hell yes, Legendary will continue, and since they have now set up shop at Sony/Columbia, and thinking that monster movies are good for them, it would not surprise me if the would want to redo some Ray Harryhausen's features like "Jason & the Argonauts" or The 7th Voyage of Sinbad".
Honestly, I'd give them each another solo movie. Turn the serious dial up to about 7 or 8, and I know it'd be expensive, but another Toho monster to fight would be a great course correction, but keep it semi grounded, no aliens; no Megalon, Gigan, or Hedorah. No Destroyah, Biollante, or Space Godzilla. I was watching the bridge scene in HotD, and when Caraxes shows up, I couldn't help but wonder what a modern take of Titanosaurus would be like, with the screeches, the movements, it'd be so cool. Like bring in another Toho trio, like do Titanosaurus, Anguirus, and like Baragon. Bring in Mothra and/or Rodan too. Or King Caesar, Ebirah, do one villain, do something. I personally love the Monsterverse now, and I love the retro music they brought to GvK. I don't think it gets enough recognition, but if they do bring new vibes and energy to the movies, but still keeps the fun things we all love about kaiju, I'm all for change.
Good post DM, Godzilla vs Kong did have the Endgame feel to it and like alot of movies today after something like that where do we go from here? This honestly feels like a money grab and hope it doesn't bomb at the box office
Personally, I love the direction the Monsterverse is going. I wish it could continue on this path but I know Minus One made a lot of people really pretentious about Godzilla movies. As good as that movie was, I do think it did irreparable damage to the franchise. Now people who aren’t fans of Godzilla are the ones who get the most authority when it comes to the discourse around the films. We probably won’t get any more Godzilla movies for a while. We’ll be getting movies that just happen to have Godzilla in them and I’m sad about that future.
Solo quiero ver a Godzilla en una película siendo el Rey y héroe. Me duele ver que lo dañen . Minos One es una obra maestra pero me duele ver a Goji malo y que lo maten. Godzilla siempre en lo más alto.
Spitting facts, man. I enjoyed both Vs. and X, but I'm not really a fan of what Adam Wingard is doing with the tone, and I would LOVE either Dougherty or Edwards to come back. You can also tell Wingard likes Kong more, but I don't, and I really want to see more with Godzilla on his own, allowed to be fully awesome instead of being Kong's fallguy. I want more KotM, epic Godzilla.
I am really rooting for the MV to do well I truly am and what I’d like to see is Legendary take notes from minus one and kind of slow down like, okay GXK is fine put that out and then after what I’d personally like to see is more expansion on the other surface titans for example a solo Rodan or Mothra movie like in the 50s and 60s and also one off Godzilla movies like Godzilla vs Mokele Mbembe type action and don’t get me wrong I love the idea of The Scar King and Shimo but legendary made a whole basket of titans and they have barely used any of them and for the rest of the MV I want it toned back down to a horror type factor with the titans getting more depth as well as the batshit crazy monsters mashes from time to time, like if you ask me my dream ending to the MV would be Godzilla and like 7 other Titan vs Destoroyah that is my be all end all MV ending
Man I 100% agree, Legendary needs to figure out their priorities and what they want for the MV in order to keep on going.
👍
We really don't want an MCU effect on the MV
Yeah.
I actually agree with this
True, even if they missed putting it in a movie those stories and ideas can be potential stories for future legacy of monarch seasons
My one hope for the monsterverse is that it finally gives us a rematch between godzilla and destroyah.
Not just destoryah i would hope for more toho monsters to be given another chance on the big screen
Personally, I would want Hedorah/Biollante next(post GxK)
Then if that does well, THEN do Destroyah
I want that to be the end of the monster verse. Godzilla: destroy all monsters (ft. Destroyah as the villain). As seeing as destroyah has similar powers to shin make him terrifying
Ngl I think they should make King Kong after New empire since Kong is most likely taking scar king’s place by force
I'd rather not go back to anything like KOTM. They tried to balance a serious and goofy tone and absolutely failed as they couldn't commit to either.
@@lux4163 True, but I mean an improved version of that.
@@lux4163how was kotm goofy?
@@kalepzazueta7890 How did you miss that gonorrhea joke?....kotm was undeniably campy in some places, not hard to miss.
This movie pays off many things that were setup but never got mentioned again.
the cybernetic titans, the titans heading to Skull Island, the titans we never got to see on screen, Godzilla and Rodan’s rivalry expanding, and Alan Jonah’s character (If Charles Dance still has the energy to do this)
Another idea is a Nature Documentary film following the many monsters.
To put this easily.
Monarch Saga: 1973-2015
Godzilla Saga: 2015-2024
Kong Saga: 2024-Present
What I think is happening: considering the upwards trajectory of wackiness and unrealism the MV is opting for, Xiliens and Ultraman are definitely possibilities. As well as Godzilla / Kong crossovers every movie or so.
Where I want them to go: more seasons of Monarch, a serious Godzilla 3, a Kong sequel with no connection really to Godzilla just so Kong fans (and I) can be happy, and, as you said, a Godzilla x Kong finale.
So you’re gonna add Ultraman for a MV debut possibility but not Gamera? Which is arguably more realistic than Ultraman lol
@@2paleo2ologist80 you’re right. Completely forgot about him 🤦🏼♂️
I hope the Xiliens make an appearance so we can finally see Gigan
@@MaceDeMarco2010 lmao
👁👄👁
No the anime movies arent comparable financially to the live action films since they have cheaper budgets, less marketing, and less amount of theater distribution
@@AlexSciChannelthey still are part of the rewia era
@freedomwriter9688 never said they weren't. Only you cannot compare their box office performance to more expensive movies like Shin
I think Mark Hamill said it best that the box office isn't a reflection of quality.
Rough list of ideas:
-Skull Island s2
-Monarch s2
-Justice League vs GvK animated movie
-Monsterverse v Pacific Rim fighting game
-Godzilla vs Hedorah or whatever movie
-Monarch s3
-Monarch G-Team 🔥
-Solo Kong movie
Interesting list
For me I'd probably go something like this:
- Skull Island season 2
- Monarch Season 2
- Kong: Return To Skull Island
- The Return of Godzilla
- Mothra solo movie (can't think of a title)
- Son of Kong
- Godzilla x Kong: Destroy All Monsters
- Godzilla x Kong: Final Wars
GxK was a blast of a movie and I see a bright future ahead
I hope they just do a solo Godzilla movie . Maybe a biollante villain or space Godzilla , and then for a final movie the final enemy showed me destroyah
Great take honestly. I would love to see the series sit somewhere between G14 and KOTM in seriousness. Slightly worried I may not like GxK, but trying to stay optimistic.
Agreed.
A sixth film is already in production.
I’ve heard rumors of a seventh film.
M:LOM has already been confirmed to be getting a second season.
SK will likely get a second season.
A MV theme park will open in France in 2025

Technically the trend of the monsterverse is upwards from Godzilla kotm to GvK
Whatever the case, I really hope they can use destoroyah for the finale
The one thing I do want to eventually see is a Legendary Version of Destroyah, they dropped the Oxygen Destroyer, it only makes sense for them to Bring Destroyah into the Monsterverse
It'll also give Monsterverse to Really make a Horrifying situation for it's human characters, hopefully they'll give us Less Quantity and More Quality
The other franchise that did make me feel like you did with the lack of cohesive direction was the Star War Sequel trilogy, no consistency that just ended up being a giant mess of a story
Well, if GxK: The New Empire do well & great, I want the directors add these new movies & series in the MV series:
Series: 1) Skull Island season 2 Netflix
2) Monarch: Legacy of Monsters season 2 Apple TV+ (center on the year 2019-2024 before the events of GvK & GxK: the new empire)
Movies: 1) Mothra solo movie (her vs Battra)
2) Rodan solo movie (him with Varan & Quetzalcoatl vs a new Titan)
3) Kong: Hollow Earth (him with Suko vs Gorosaurus & Mecha Kong)
4) MV Gamera (him/her vs several monsters including Gyaos)
5) Godzilla 3 (him with Minizilla & Anguirus vs Mecha King Ghidorah, Biollante & Hedoran)
6) Godzilla vs Gamera (them facing each other but then teaming up against an unknown threat)
7) King Ghidorah solo movie (a new 2nd Ghidorah {be a protagonist not a villain} with Monarch's Jet Jaguar Jaeger vs Gigan & a new extraterrestrial titan)
8) Kong 3 (him with Suko, Gorosaurus & new Hollow Earth titans leave Hollow Earth & move to Skull Island but face off against a new Skull Island/Hollow Earth Titan)
9) Godzilla 4 (him with new Titans vs Spacegodzilla)
10a) Godzilla x Kong: Destroy All Monsters part I (Godzilla with Kong, Mothra, Rodan, Anguirus, new Ghidorah & Gamera vs Destoroyah & the Xiliens)
10b) Godzilla x Kong: Destroy All Monsters part II (Godzilla (+Minizilla) with Kong (+Suko), Mothra, Rodan Anguirus, new Ghidorah, Gamera, Monarch's new Mechagodzilla+Jet Jaguar Jaeger, along with all of the rest of the surface Titans & Hollow Earth Titans {plus new ones} vs the final main villain of the MonsterVerse: Monster X/Kaizer Ghidorah)+(but have both Godzilla & Kong not going to die at the end of the MV story).👍😉🌌
Agreed, mostly. I’d also make a film on where all the titans went after KOTM. Out of all the Kaiju, I’m curious on where Rodan went. Did he go back to the volcano? Is there a portal where he can go to part of the hollow earth? Leave out any humans, just Kaiju.
Pretty sure he's just taking a power nap in his volcano
That could work for a season of Legacy of Monsters if they wanted to go in that direction!
Monster verse is fine folks need to relax I think they’ll crank it up after the new empire so many possibilities. It’s only going to grow from here on out.
Nah.
All three are the perfect foil to each other
Godzilla is a balancing force, where as Biolante could represent “What if nature overcorrected”.
Now getting off my Minus One hype, and after rewatching the released GxK trailer, I'm actually starting to feel excited for this movie.
I thought it was cool but the hollow earth is a little too much lol
@@joeysullivanTMlol same. I'm just shutting off my brain and enjoying the spectacle.
I was taken back by the trailer at first, but the more I watch it the more I like it. Hopefully the film is good.
@mr.l5783 I hope so, too. I'm starting to like shimo more. The whole ice thing is pretty cool
Epic. 😆
It’s nice to see you grow as a host. Good job and happy new year!
Strongly agree! Looking forward to those solo Kong movies! And Godzilla vs Toho monster
Agreed
Monarch Saga: 1973-2015
Godzilla Saga: 2015-2024
Kong Saga: 2024-Present
Anything can happen. Post covid box office has become very unpredictable. It even got Grace Randolph Wildin😂
one things for sure, Wingard is out after New Empire...I mean, just take a look at his busy film schedule, he has lots of big IP unrelated to the Monsterverse coming up.
Happy New Year D Man, I hope you keep up your enthusiasm! I hope Legendary's films can rein in the silliness enough to get us some more grounded, well-rounded, and better written human characters. Without scale it just looks like playing with action figures. Growl, roar, pew pew pew!
I hooe the next movie makes godzilla the main protagonist
Great thoughts man and I agree! I wanna see another Goji film that has a tone that's in between 2014 and 2019.
And GvK got 105 million + views. 😂😂😂

How is godzilla gonna be more serious
Team Godzilla:
Godzilla
Methuselah
Behemoth
Scylla
Barb
Rodan:
Abaddon
Baphomet
Camazotz
Sargon
Mokele Mbembe
Dude... monsterverse is about the only thing that makes money in Hollywood nowdays..... we like it 😂😂😂
Along with figuring out what tone it wants to be, I think the Monsterverse could also use more monsters.
I agree. We can use both toho and retro sci-fi giant monsters of the 50s and 60s in a crossover or solo films.
I think more smaller threat monsters would be cool and i agree it doesn’t matter if it’s toho or original monsters we’ve had a lot of big world ending threats let’s have some smaller threats
25/06/24 = $567 MILLION (100 Mill more then G vs K)
That’s ideal. GVK was a pandemic movie
I think the GxK trailer was very poorly edited. That's the main problem imo
We haven’t even seen the movie lol
But surely there should be a line drawn so it doesn’t feel that Godzilla basically has no point being there and has no focus right?
Godzilla: Kingdom of the Monsters: This movie follows Godzilla’s rule over Earth after defeating Ghidorah as he battles rogue titans
Godzilla: War of the Monsters: Rodan becomes an Alpha to a group of titans and goes to war with Godzilla and his gang of titans. Rodan is the one who sent them to Skull Island.
Godzilla: Planet of the Monsters-This one is a movie completely set in the titans’ POV. We get to see the mundane life of Godzilla and his titans as they keep balance to the Earth
Reign of Godzilla: An animated tv series much like Skull Island which follows Godzilla as he battle various monsters much like Godzilla: The Series. This movie can develop the Russels better and I consider it to be the Clone Wars of the Monsterverse.

I think we need to hype up Godzilla x kong
I think if Godzilla hasn’t lost respect for humanity yet, he never will.
Yes some odd roles for some beings, but as I state, it's more about how the titans interact then about another disaster to humanity level fight.
I think you got it all covered the film makers need to hear all of what your saying and 5 more movies to end it is smart
I’d start it off with a big brawl movie of a ton of titans and see what people think of the new titans.
so if i were to make a mv series gxk onwards, i'd go like this:
- A Godzilla movie featuring any of the toho monsters, potentially Bolante or Megagurius or Gigan.
Give it a few yrs later, and the mv potentially makes a comeback.
imma be honest
it will probably be hard to make a challenging villain for godzilla after his glow up in the new empire
my man is BEAST now
You nailed it.
Bro shut up
Finding out where the 3 headed king dragon 🐉 came from would be nice.
I have never been more in agreement with a UA-cam video more in my life.
In all honesty i think the MV is heading in a positive direction where it expand the lore and build up for future installments of the franchise unlike marvel and DC.
Now they have a few flaws whenever it comes to plot and character development for the human characters along with trying to keep the continuity in tact (due to netflix skull island and legacy of monsters),
While creating a decent story and mythology for the titans at the same time.
But i would say that legendary needs to plan and think things through more often whenever it comes to the timeline such as creating prequel installments that ties to the previous films for example,
And if it was up to me for those installments,
i would have the netflix skull island series take place in the 1930s (years before the events of 1973-95) and is about the victims of the Wanderer ship being stranded on skull island where they have to fight for survival and find a way out (paying homage to the 1933 king kong film).
D Man, that jacket is 👌🔥 I need to get me one of those. Great video!
Ikr! He had some drip going on
Almost New Year's for those who are still in 2023
Happy New Years
Hell yeah, man!
Happy New Year, brotha
I would love a destroy all monsters Remake like someone has take. Control of all one of each species of titan and cause them to destroy the most populated areas and capitals and terraform the planet similar to what ghidorah was doing
My dream “Destroy All Monsters” is for Destroyah to be the villain.
@mr.l5783 Ohhhh yeah! I've been thinking that for a long time lol or even Bagan
Kong should have gotten a solo movie with Scar King as the villain. Godzilla should have gotten a solo film against Destroyer.
Biollante & Destroyah NEED to appear in this universe before they wrap it up!!! 😭😭😭😭😭
I definitely want a Rodan solo movie with Megaguirus as the villain, I would also like another Godzilla movie with Mecha-King Ghidorah and Biolante
14:36 doesn't it though? the whole first scene is set during the events of skull island, and them finding the files in the bag randa threw sets up the plot
You didn't watch the video
watch the video, you'll learn something
@@joeysullivanTM I wasn't against it I was just making an observation
@@user-lc5of7jh5g 😕
I know it means we would need to introduce a new studio/ a franchise purchase, but a Gamera solo film could be a good pallet cleanser. Then a Godzilla film with either Biolante or Hedorah as the antagonist seems like a solid choice.
2 movies I NEED and think may actually happen cuz they have a perfect opportunity with the way they set it up
1. King Kong movie after new empire. Where Kong is finally king of the kings after most likely taking scar king’s place by force
I think Dougherty or Edward coming to do Godzilla 3 would be awesome. Robert’s should DEFINITELY do a Kong Sequel. Keep them serious.
Happy New Year DMan!!!
As a city with a drive in. I so hope the drive in gets it. Was kinda disappointed that Godzilla minus one did not make it to the drive in. 😊
It won’t be the end. But it may be a wake up call to do better
Ever since the Pandemic, going to the movies hasnt been a huge preference. Thats a huge factor in box office numbers in the U.S.
If there is a titan that they to have in the monsterverse it's biollante
10 years of the monsterverse
