Mr ClassicMetal amazing I saw Gary Moore at the monsters of rock donnington 1984

Yep, much as I love Satriani, SRV, Schenker, Beck, Gibbons, Rhoads etc that track is (as a guitar player for decades), an absolute Tour De Force, a masterpiece!
@ Ozzy really wanted Gary Moore in his band when he went solo. Moore was an absolute _beast_ at the time, and live he was second to none. But unfortunately it didn't work out. That's part of the reason why Randy Rhoads got the gig, after Ozzy had second thoughts about Lynch. Here's an excerpt of an interview with bassist Dana Strum: ================ "Anyway, I suggested Randy right away as the guitar player, and I was shot down immedietly. Ozzy wanted to get Gary Moore. I only knew he was some guy from Thin Lizzy. I was blown away when I saw Gary. He was the fastest, most blazing lead guitar player I’ve ever seen. I knew Randy Rhoads didn’t play like that, but I knew he had something. I never laid off my gut instinct. Gary Moore and Ozzy didn’t hit it off. They lasted two weeks. We saw Chris Holmes from W.A.S.P. We saw a guy who sang Jimi Hendrix to Ozzy. We looked at all kinds of guys. Finally, I got Ozzy to agree to listen to Randy." Garry Moore is a Legendary guitar player (and singer) about time you knew about him and showed some proper Respect, especially since ur called metalheads,i liked your Reaction when he did that awesome solo, even though that like daamn where did that come from ?
Maybe he was a very good guitarplayer?? Ha ha ha. If you know anything about guitar, you'll know that Gary Moore is at the top of the list for a lot of guitarists. Icluding Kirk Hammett.
Gary Moore was a Guitar Maestro! Simply the best in my opinion. He could play any style he wanted to and had some of the fastest fingers you will ever see! But he always sounded melodic, not just a bunch of random notes. He played with so much feeling and soul. You should definitely check out the live The Messiah Will Come Again and also if you want 'rock' check out Gary Moore Live in Stockholm concert. You will see a true master at work!
Song is about a man who is been accused for a crime he did not do. But can´t tell anyone. Even in the face of death. Because his alibi is his lover. His friends wife. Perhaps that kid in the video was result of that night?
quick FYI--the story was about a guy who had his pistol was stolen by someone who went & committed robbery while the original guy was spending the night with his best friend's wife...cops came for him and he refused to give up the girl as his alibi, so he went to prison for 10 years. you were KIND of close on your guess. when this song came out in either 1986 or 87 i was so stoked to hear something as different as this on what was pretty typically shite radio.
Andy Winner no thanks, I’ll pass. Never listened to him, But by all means let me know your favorite song by him. You seem very excited to share his name and music.🤣
25 years ago this masterpice came to be, Gary Moore was one of the best ever guitarists on this planet and influenced many later singers with his musik. lern your musik and get it together, by the way he is Irish.
@@MrClassicmetal I know he has done lots of different stuff this song was just my childhood memory :) i know now that he played in skidrow not that sebastian bach stuff :) and yes i have also hear gary moores heavier stuff for example murder in the skies, victims of the future...and i also like out in the streets with phil lynott from thin lizzy..also that friday on my mind..my first contact to gary moore was those mid/late 80´s songs when i was kid and later age done research on him done more listening also that blues stuff:) Thanks for the comment bro :) and hello from Finland
@@Necroticnarcosis The Blues stuff was what I liked the least. That 1st blues album was kind of cool, and when he plays those songs live, it was obvious that he's a heavy rock player at heart. I like his playing on the Black Rose album, it's top notch! And his work with Colosseum II was incredible! But that blues period... hmmm... it just went on for way too long in my opinion. Having said that, Moore does have a very impressive list of a albums. 👍🏼
My favorite Gary Moore time was when he was together with Thin Lizzy...

Hey guys, Gary Moore played with Thin Lizzy, the bassist Bob Daisley was with Uriah Heep, Ozzy and Black Sabbath and the keyboard player Neil Carter was with UFO. These were some pretty serious players from the 70s and 80s. Anyway, this is hard rock with a celtic flavour since Moore was Irish.
Thank you guys for reacting to my song im so glad. This song was such an influence for me when i was kid 11 back then :) this january turning 45 so watching and hearing this song brought me memories :) the corny jokes you guys make is just a brotherly tease and im also glad you find elements on the song that you liked :)
Should give Gary more another shot. Honestly one of the best guitar players to ever live Ozzy Osborne wanted him for his solo band but Gary turned him on to Randy Rhodes. That’s the story as I know it
So fellow metalheads, I couldn’t help but notice that you have no reactions to the number one Symphonic Metal band Nightwish. It has world-class musicians, composer and singer. Floor Jansen, a 6’1” Dutch beauty, has most versatile, powerful and pure voice in the world. Nobody can match her. Nightwish does soft, medium and heavy metal. Here’s one of their heavy ones. Romanticide, official live at Wacken 2013 open air with 82,000 metalheads. Nightwish’s live performances beat most bands studio work. 😄🤘
Gentlemen your right this was not one of Gary Moore's best, but it was covered by Nightwish. My suggestion to view one of the top five guitaristin the world is look at Still got the blues 1994 live. Red house Jimi Hendrix cover, or Parisienne Walkways again Live. you won't be disappointed.
Yo Sporto, you may be thinking of... "over the river and through the woods to grandmothers house we go..." It was seeming like I hadn't heard of Gary Moore from the 80s. As I continued listening, I may be vaguely recalling this. Mmm... chicken burrito! Damn it, Sporto... now you owe me one! LOL
Well... this was a very typical video style for the 80's hard rock stuff. Product of its time. Edit: the studio version has a different guitar solo, better imho.
This probably wasn't the best intro into Gary Moore to be honest - he's a blues/rock guitarist and End of the world or something similar would probably have been better. He was born in Northern Ireland - which probably explains the feel on this track. He did a stint with Thin Lizzy which was epic - Nightwish did a cover of this track too - Chicken Burito....
I kinda understand why they didnt like this song, but when he played his solo, he catch their attention... (btw I love this song, garrys version)... You guys should try Garrys and Phills "Out in the fields" ... but to the story - its actually pretty simple yet kinda tragic (s Irish folk songh sometimes tend to be) - guy is falselly accudes of crime (robbery) because they found his pistol near crime scene. He has alibi he need to get clear, but he cant tell them - he "spend his final night of freedom) with his best friends wife.. so that kid he reads that book is his son and he read him his lifes story (probably after he was finally released)...
Video is dated as hell. But song is true classic. Gary Moore had a huge influence to bands to come. It is a huge shame his videos are so old and dated. But songs still hold up. I suppose album quest might be the best way.
This reminds me of the film Restless Natives. Worth a watch if you have not seen it, really funny. Although I think Big Country was the soundtrack.....maybe....long time ago! Again, funny reaction guys! Chicken burrito! 🤣
Your face is always that expressive man. You’re just used to your mirror face. The patty gurdy cover of this is on my favorite music list. I like it better but seeing the original was fun.
Huge Moore fan, Huge Nightwish fan here. Honestly their version is OK, it is a straight cover, no changes except vocals even uses the same backing vocals. Their later covers, Phantom, High Hopes etc., they learnt to put their stamp on it and make it sound 'Nightwish' but Over the hills? Straight up cover, no Nightwishness.
@@EnigmaTimGaming I'm gonna friendly disagree with you. Although you're right, technically there's not much of a difference, the tempo in the Nightwish cover is different and I think Tuomas' keyboards and Tarja's vocals only (not just the mains vocals, but also the backing vocals) make their cover something of their own.
Chicken burrito! Never seen the video😂, listened to it on my Walkman when it came out. Not his best song though. Totally forgot about him, thanks for the extreme throwback. 😝 Please react to GHOST-HE IS Darkness from Sweden
I never normally comment but dear god, what an obnoxious reaction. With genres in music, out of sheer respect you have to know who certain people and bands are. Gary Moore is one of them. Just because it’s fry screams to a over produced, backing track, it’s clearly shit. (The guy on the rights face, is evident of that*). ALSO a song is intended/written for you to listen to and THEN talk. Don’t pause, listen and then repeat 50 times. You’re losing the meaning and point to the song. Take notes and once the songs finished THEN comment, easy!! Guy on the left is more open minded clearly but still a tad obnoxious. Learn your music history before doing reaction. Have respect for the giants of rock and metal!
I am a huge Gary Moore fan and this is a bad place to start. Probably his weakest song. Check out his rendition of the Messiah Will Come Again to hear the greatest guitar player who ever lived in full flow.
hey guys.. Gary Moore is one of the best guitarists about time. Gary passed away in 2011. you should learn more about music
I think that’s the whole point of their channel... they’re learning about music. SMH.
Not everyone is gonna know every big musician 🤦🏻♀️
