I'm glad you showed the tracksaw edge jointing boards. All the videos on UA-cam seem to be "How to edge joint without a jointer" but then they use a tablesaw. Some of us don't have a tablesaw either.
Hey thanks for this. Currently I need to make a few rebates for a project - but not quite ready to invest into a router yet. The tracksaw will do for now
I enjoy all the carpentry vids on the web and I learn a lot but when I c a guy like me who needs to resolve the problem on site w. Whatever tool avail. That’s you , that’s me and most of the group.. I would love to have a brand new tools , a nice gorgeous “clean” shop but that’s a dream more than a reality , anyways I like your channel and keep posting for the workers on the field doing the “ dirty work” 😂
Te get an even better edge on the boards to join them with glue, hold them together and cut between them at the same time in one pass, taking a tiny bit off each edge
This has just popped up and what a great useful vid! Brilliant. Have you thought about buying a square to clamp onto you Festool track? They seem cost effective enough now see 10 minute workshop for professionals like yourself. Keep up the good work - get some heating sorted 😀👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
All great ideas My Friend, it's always good to know how to get out of a bind. I hope your'e feeling better... and I really hope you didn't get me sick Dude! See You Soon👍
What tools could you not live without on the material shaping side? Considering a decent straight edge with clamps you cant always use (long & short level?) plus router can get you out of trouble. Jigsaw for tight spots. Plunge saw in the centre of boards plus keeping the centre piece as say a door after with blade thickness cuts 3mm? Straight ripping & thicknessing. Mitre saw. Ezact style small blade saw. Multi tool or under cut tool for close to floor or door frame flooring. Planer. (leave the biscuit joiner out of the kit?) Make dowel jig. Ive only got bench hand tools plus 2 drills been spoilt in a yard. Pillar drill will be out. Can sharpen drill bits on a 4 inch grinder, and if you want to wall or floor fix you need an SDS drill? My background is joiner & steel fixer. That would add a 1/2 inch nut runner. I just want a decent stand alone start point on 18V Makita cordless side where needed. Anything really requiring a hoover can be corded? To save cost. I feel a headache coming on lol. Damn i forgot an orbital sander. No room for any of this the back bedroom is full of s**t, no car, no garden, draining money fast. First project build gallows hang self. How longs a piece of old rope.
Great tips really enjoyed the video, when you cut the two pallet pieces so you could joint them, you could also put a piece of blue tape on the bench then a piece on the back of each piece of pallet, then with ca glue glue the pieces to the blue tape on the bench then you only need to cut through where the boards join.
I saw you don't use clamp at all. Does the guide rail still sit firmly without clamping? Btw I'm newbie and thinking to buy it because I:m not brave enough to use table saw. But I'm still in doubt will it be worthed as it's quite pricey. I do woodworking only on weekend, making stuffs for my family needs. Any suggestions?
Morning P.D the rails have a foam sort or tape on the under side (on some it’s rubber) and these are anti slip so on most cuts on most materials there is no need to clamp them down, there are times though when you might want to clamp them. I brought myself the Mcallister saw from Screwfix, and then brought the makita 1.5 rail. It’s a great entry level saw and will make great cuts! Check out 10 minute workshop from Peter Millard, he does a collection of videos on track saws and compares the budget saws to the festool. The Mcallister seems to be a direct copy of the Titan that he compares with. Happy woodworking 👍
Hello mate, got a couple of questions for you about your shed as you dont seem to have insulation do you get condensation inside the shed and on your tools, and how do you have power to your shed ie long leads or properly done?
Bonjour, chap don’t no wear to start...I need to make a door with a over lay, ov 40 50 mm , the only thig I’ve seen is Americans doing it. It’s the hinge , that I need,

This video has helped me a lot
Thank you 🥰
No.worries and good luck for the future
Not long had my track saw and looking for the best way to joint boards, I don't have a jointer nor table saw so this was ideal. Cheers

Excellent tips buddy. Love the idea of using the plunge saw for doing joints without using a router
thanks mate yes its another way to do them for sure

How would you hold the boards together without pinching the blade as it cuts?
@@christianpetersen1782 clap them down, not against each other
Good tips 👍🏻 like your style of presenting. And your right there are always a number of ways to do things. Track saws are brilliant!

Does the stock festool blade leave a flat bottom to the cut? I’d love to be able to cut dados with a track saw
Happy New Year! Thanks for the ideas.
