Brock Purdy showed maturity beyond his years against the Dallas Cowboys

- Although his numbers weren't spectacular, Brock Purdy showed why he should be the San Francisco 49ers long-term starter with an extremely intelligent and composed outing against a rampant Dallas Cowboys defence.

An Irishman dissecting American football?? You do a GREAT job! Purdy has that "twitch" factor. He thinks very quickly.
Most of these players from the south mine as well be Irish/scotts/African men lol
Customarily speaking ..
The Irish know football! 🫡
@@LitCentralMillennialXLIII its such an amazing amount of shared historical influences when you know where to look.
I'm sure it's not to far off from their taste.
@@dadsonworldwide3238 Three generations or more removed.
@@knoahbody69 exactly! I was just thinking
I'm almost 50 and was blessed to know my great grandmother and some of their friends born in late 1870s. They was just one generation from some of them. my Other half is much order but still so much disconnect.
Great breakdown of Purdy's maturity. Dallas's defense was awesome. They brought a Championship defense but Purdy handled it well.
Fking exactly Purdy did so well
He did well but dak lost that game. We could of ran away with that game but dak is his own worst enemy
@@ILoveCrepes601 That’s on the team, not just Dak…it’s a fool’s errand being QB (or HC) under Jerry Jones…
@@PhilosopherKing73 kellen Moore and McCarthy also take responsibility. O line did great receivers like lamb did what they could. Zeke sucks and so does gallup
@@ILoveCrepes601Nah. Shanahan was out coached by Quinn. Dallas did not fall for any of his tricks and Niners could not run the ball. Purdy and the Defense kept the team afloat
Dan Quinn really prepared his unit well for this game.
Casual box-score watchers looking at Purdy's statline without context to the game really don't know the full story, because he played a good clean game under the circumstances. He had 0 run game in the first half (27 yards) and throughout the game he was under immense pressure. He was pressured on almost 50% of dropbacks, and that was the most for a 9ers QB since 2019. Purdy, however, made several plays with his legs to avoid pressure and not make the big turnovers that would put his team at a hole. You put any QB in the scenario Purdy was in with being under pressure on 50% of his snaps with no running game and they would struggle.
When Purdy was kept clean in the pocket, he delivered. Going 15/17 for 159 yards and 105 passer rating.
Cowboys fan here. Respect to the 49ers. They stayed poised and deserved that win.
It's crazy how many people are not giving him credit for winning every single game he's played in the NFL. Guy deserves all the credit he's a frickin rookie winning playoff games thats not normal
He’s practically 8-0 if you count the Miami game.
This team has not won a single game n the arm of brick Purdy. You're all bigoted pathological liars. He's done exactly what jimbob has done at a higher level. He has not made one single impressive throw where you know he's a special talent. We've seen that with trey in 3 games of work. Yet you'll all perpetually lie about his talent. He's mediocre at best surrounded by all pro talent. He makes so many mistakes that you all overlook because he's a white boy. Treys not ready though 😂🤣
They'll give him credit if he loses. And that's a shame. I mean, if he loses. ;-)
@@vincentchambers6401 exactly my thoughts when he won his first game against Miami
Dallas defense played at a championship level, giving Purdy ample opportunities to make bad decisions and throw away the game. He never did. His decision-making and reads are top tier. SF defense gave Prescott similar opportunities to throw away the game and Dak took them up on the offer.
THAT was excellent! Best and most clear, concise breakdown of part of this game I've found. More please! Unless one gets the all 22 and end zone film, it's difficult to see what and how it really happens. As an American football coach of 26 years, though the passing game is sexy, I want to know how the running game was so effectively shut down for most of this game. Thank you for such thorough work.
I am more confident going to Eagles game after this breakdown. Awesome Job.
I am too.. My only gripe if a gripe is to just make faster adjustments to what works and what doesn’t against the eagles from the start instead of adjusting late in the game.
Great analysis and you can see that Brock's no fluke. How good can he be? The sky's the limit. Let's Go!!!!
Honestly dude, excellent breakdown. As a Niner fan, it confirmed what my eyes saw: Dallas indeed played very well on defense.
Both defenses played great in this game. One QB responded well, didn't make bad mistakes and got the win.
Our WRs really struggled to get open. Brock had a lot less to work with, and our run game was bad too. Brock played about as good a game as he could have. We just have to hope this week that our WRs give it their all and can get some more separation this week.
Cian, another great video that so many are missing about Purdy. Felt like he was holding back, but you show the great reasons why he did that. Shanahan seemed very pleased with Brock, though the offence scored only 19 points. Now we know why. That's the QB Shanahan wants.
Man, I cannot express how impressive your analysis is. For me, I think it's spot on.
It's not fan boyish or pie in the sky expectations like the national media loves to do. I think people are guilty of expecting too much for QBs especially in the playoffs. Montana and Young had, based on their stats a ho-hum game without taking into account they were playing a tough defense. Which in this case Purdy was playing an elite defense, all the respect to Dallas.
Keep up the great analysis. 👍
Great breakdown.
Meanwhile, on US sports TV they're talking about how Purdy had a bad game and looked like a rookie because he didn't throw for multiple TDs
How does an Irishman have such expertise in analyzing plays? Outstanding job. Really well done.
So many people keep writing off this guy. I don't get it. Seems like pre draft. He has potential. Good work.
Because people don't want to admit the scouts missed something when drafting him
They say his size and he doesn’t have a big arm
@@Hector34562 exactly what they said about Montana
@@nicholasd3623 this is the number one reason. No one wants to be wrong about this guy. So they double down
@@ShaunHensley and brady
Purdy shows why it pays to go with a 4 yea= college starter instead of a guy who had an amazing 1 season as a starter (like the reason we took Lance)
These precise throws, Jimmy G typically overthrows or it’s just way off. You can’t tell me that this guy isn’t an upgrade over JG.
His pocket awareness is insane too, he knows when to take sacks and how to read defenses perfectly. This is nuts to think about considering he’s a 7th Round rookie
Hes the best QB on the Roster. It's insane to say but its true. He plays very smart football and hardly makes mistakes.
As much as I love Jimmy.. You are spot on my friend
credit to Dan Quinn for getting his defense ready for the 49ers offense, but this was a chess match and the better team won.
Dan Quinn spanked his old offensive coordinator, but Dak gonna Dak.
@@PradoTraceAZ Dallas fanboys cope so hard, even when you try and give them a tiny bit of credit. Dan Quinn is gonna be gone next season and y'all will still have Dak.
@Kenny Jasper I'm a 49ers fan what do you mean? Kyle was definitely outclassed by his old head coach. Purdy was the only reason the offense held on as long as they did until the Dallas short week defense was finally gassed. Kyle was too cute in the 1st half. Then he started power running the ball Hat on Hat blocking up the middle with Mitchell and removed the will of the Dallas front 7.
@@KennyJasper haha owned
@@PradoTraceAZ yeah, it was pretty obvious, early in the game, Kyle was getting out coached. Quinn had his number. Purdy and the Defense saved him
This was an EXCELLENT analysis. Thank you. I appreciate it.
Dude is really good im glad he with us. I don’t know how everyone missed him in the draft.
The entire league is in love with dual threat, running QBs with big arms, somehow these pro scouts miss the obvious, qbs who are gifted athletically don’t develop as pocket passers and hit the wall in the pros.
There’s a reason great pocket passers develop into that, necessity
that crazy kittle catch did happen on an overthrown pass but in Purdy's position, it makes sense to aim to slightly overthrow it. He's throwing back into the middle of the field against 2, arguably three defenders who are in dangerous positions. In this improvised scenario, Purdy showed great risk assessment skills by removing the possibility of underthrowing into an interception. With some more experience and practice, he'll be more confident about throwing with more intention. Great coaching too against a dallas defense that literally had never looked that solid all year.
Brock Purdy is as cool as Joe Cool… Supper Bowls are on the way… 😊
Great break down.
There's something about hearing American football analysis in an Irish accent. I've been missing this my whole life.
The media world is so saturated with shallow analysis… this is incredibly well done. Succinct insightful and worth watching twice. Instant subscribe and like. Great job! Hope you grow like crazy.
Got to watch this kid play my sooners in multiple close games when he was at ISU. This kid is a fast decision maker with really underrated football instincts. He reminds me of a Joe Burrow right before he really took that massive leap.(Burrow had weapons outside)😂
Geez, after watching several of your videos, I'm still blown away by how brilliant and insightful they are! Please keep up the fantastic work you're doing! All the Best from this lifelong Niners fan and NorCal transplant in Kentucky USA!
Fantastic work as usual.
This film breakdown was one of the best I've seen and that accent made me feel like I'm now an expert in ⚽ too. This was great stuff. Thanks
This is a fantastic and fast paced explanation !!! amazing job
Now I understand why the SFO offense could not just blast away and make massive yards and points. Great analysis!
Love hearing your analysis, I'm learning things I haven't. Appreciate your content.
Amazing analysis, love seeing Purdy's patience and maturity.
Love the breakdown! Excellent man most sports talk shows are breakdown game footage like this and I hate it. I got full confidence in Purdy going into Philly on Sunday.
Instant subscription. This is one of the most digestible analysis videos I've seen. Excellent use of visuals & commentary.
Thanks for this video Coach! Def taught me something and helped me understand more how plays are called and ran.
Enjoyed your understanding and take!
This is exactly the kind of analysis I was looking for. There are a lot of UA-camrs taking advantage of the Purdy hype to churn out videos about him, but the vast majority are surface level with very little actual substance. This video did a fantastic job of giving context to his performance and showcased not only his good maturity, but also the things that Dallas was doing very well to force those difficult decisions. As a Niner fan I'll be hoping for more content about SF, but honestly if this level of quality is typical I'll enjoy videos about anyone.
Wow! Great editing and a superb breakdown! Glad to have another channel to put into the rotation!
Fantastic breakdown here, love your work!
other than calling kittle kelce once or twice this was an amazing breakdown. Loved it. Please do more on brock
Man, you're good at this. Well done!
7:49 looks like even Deebo is astounded by that play
In the mic'd up footage Deebo is literally left speechless after that
Well done, Cian!
Great analysis💯
I love the effects you use because my old eyes are getting bad trying to watch this on my phone.
Cian, I am blown by your knowledge of the game. You are seeing things that are eye-opening to me. Well done man. btw, I live in Iowa and we are all just blown away by Purdy and Kittle's play.
this video def deserve a sub, excited to see more breakdowns
First time seeing your channel, really enjoyed this breakdown. Great visuals, too
I haven’t watched film like this in years, great job brother!
Impressive breakdown. Subscribed!!
Keep it up. This is a pristine analysis! 🎉
Lmao Dak can learn a thing or two from Purdy
Great analysis. Thank you !
Excellent break down!
crazy good breakdown, thanks!
Excellent analysis Cian, some guys just need a chance to shine #ninernation

Amazing breakdown. Well done.
Really good breakdown. Liked and subscribed.
That was a great breakdown! 👍🏾
Look at Trent Williams man. What a player.
amazing video!
Great job you just earned a subscriber.
Thanks for this
That Brock Purdy shows maturity beyond his years is true. When he started at Iowa State, he was a teenager, and did the same. He's an amazing player. There's another 49er who shows maturity befitting his years. Against Dallas he kicked 4 field goals and an extra point...enough to defeat the Cowboys all with his 40 year old right toe. Pure Gould!
Very very good video of breaking down plays
Excellent analysis my Guy.
Excellent video. I appreciate you breaking down how Dallas successfully took options away from Purdy. And covering the mistakes Purdy could have made, but didn’t.
Outstanding!
Dude, you earned a like and new sub, great breakdown, thanks.
Great job man
A veteran qb would have thrown that ball as at Debos feet. But he only had a split second to do it. It would have had to be reflex to do it basically. Sack was the second best option.
Damn, what a film breakdown! Kudos
Purdy showed the patience Dak didnt...difference in a 1A defensive game...great video
Great Breakdown
OUTSTANDING!!!
Great breakdown man
played football for 12 years and idk the game as well as you
This is a great video
Like Nick Bosa said “We have ourselves a Quarterback!”
Beautiful breakdown. Sub 👍🏿
Great Great Knowledge there Cian. Learned alot. The narrative by Eagles fans watching the Dallas game on Purdy was they were laughing at him and 'he's only a rookie and his plays show it!' but your analysis shows he's a young Einstein!!!!!!!
Love the video bro you gained new a follower
I saw that on the first play when he did not try and force in the area of Parson. I remember watching and saying great play.
great stuff
Great analysis.
Awesome Evaluation
I am so excited to see him start making those big play against a good DF in the eagles. He learned a lot from this game and he's going to start implementing it his game plan against the eagles
Great Breakdown Friendo
Great video
Nice breakdown
This was great
Great video sir
well done!
Great video.
No matter which teams win this weekend, you better believe it's going to be a stacked superbowl. I can't remember the last time the final four teams all could realistically lay down a case for championship. Usually you can see one or two heavy favorites, but it really feels like all the teams have a very good chance.
Great break down they played us well Quinn knows Kyle very well.
THE GOD Cian going viral!
Dig the accent! Great job, brother!
