My favorite and most versatile accessory is a floaty. It can work as a bite mount. It floats. It’s the lightest. It can almost be a tripod in a way. You can drop it and be more protected. The window of the floaty, fits into the sticky GoPro mounts and acts as a quick detach. NDs are sweet. Those magnetic mounts are magic for vloggers. Awesome tips David!
Thanks for showing me the accessories for the GoPro. I have a hero 7 and I'm disabled and I'm almost 2 months in the action camera lifestyle. I've got 2 to 3 mounts that you're showed me. If you have any ideas on a couple of other mounts that I can use please let me know thank you
I have several of those accessories, but I have to say my favorite is the snap mount because like you said it makes all my other mounts better. The ability to just remove the camera from one mount (or surface) to another in a matter of literally seconds is amazing. Highly recommend it.
I love this. Spend $500 on a new gopro, spend another $500 for accessories. For this reason I Just got a gopro 9 . Subscribed for more creative content ideas!
Great video David. I have 70% of this gear (100% 0f the basics) mostly because of your recommendations. The one thing I appreciate the most is the Snap Mounts. When you reviewed this product I started ordering it before your video ended. They are amazing! I use it for ALL of my driving videos because I can leave the suction mount on the windshield and without disturbing the suctions placement and angle, I can grab the Hero 9, do my thing, and return it to exactly the same position. Sometimes, I remove it just for security reasons. And for business videos, I can move the cameras between tripods effortlessly. Seriously, my video setups are so much faster thanks to Snap Mounts!
I just got a GoPro Hero10 and i've been binge watching your videos. Thank you so much for all this! Very helpful and informative. :) And that ending was the sweetest!
Here's my tip: when I'm using a mic with a deadcat windscreen, a Ulanzi PT-3 with a 1/4-20 to cold shoe adapter makes a great stand-off to keep the deadcat out of frame.
Great video. I just want to mention that I have had success using a third party aluminum thumbscrew. It acts as a heat-sink and helps to dissipate heat away from the camera.
I ordered my very first Go Pro Hero 10 Creator Edition, beginner here and so I’m watching gazillion of videos on how to start vlogging and start documenting my outdoor adventures. I would love to find a mentor to start this journey.😌
It's crazy because you buy a GoPro and it's the very first thing you need. Like, even just to get a handle or tripod! But to really get the crazy shots that are what a GoPro is made for, all these things come in for a whole lot of fun!
@David Manning - I affiliate bought about 5 items here from your list this morning. Just think how many diapers GoPro has helped the Manning family purchase. 😆
Planning to buy a gopro10 to upgrade my equipment i use for my workout youtube vids.. your vids are really helpful, watching this while listing down what accessories I want
Great list. I love my snap mounts and makes switching between mounts so easy. Downside for me is that as I modify my Jeep I am working on shedding weight so I go with aluminum parts and therefore reduce where I can stick the snap mount on my jeep. Thanks for the updated list!
One item you forgot to mention is a thumbscrew wrench . I prefer the ones that fit on the outside and on the inside of the screw on the other end of the wrench. Mount fit tolerances vary widely and there are places where the hi-torque screws can't be used, so wrenches to the rescue.
Thanks for doing this. On my motorcycle I use the SmallRig magic arm and clamp this set up works pretty well except the vibration from the handlebars is a bit of a problem.
Great stuff! I'm finally pulling the trigger and will be purchasing a GoPro10 this week. You covered the SeaSucker here briefly and in your vid featuring the SeaSucker. However, unless I missed it I'm very interested in learning more about your Ram Mount.

I have the old version GoPro three way but the tripod is useless. Looks like the new one is way better. I did make a Christmas list of the ones I don’t have. Thanks David. Love this! I have the both GoPro 3 way mounts and those are my general hand held situations. I use my GoPole Bobber mount for water activities. Use the old chesty and suction cup mount. If I were to use a suction cup mount more I’d definitely go with the sea sucker. I also use the GoPole Reach pole and dome. I love the under over water shots so I have been pleased with how GoPole’s Dome has performed. I just ordered the dual mount because of this video and will be referring back to for future use. Thanks!
@@Sun_Dayzzz I have the HERO 9 and maybe it's overkill, but I attach the MAX MOD lens and set the camera to horizon leveling mode for motion action shots. I also use it for capturing B-roll attached to a mono/tripod while keeping it in linear mode. I hope this helps.
Bitemount in the ocean, you can also secure it with a homemade lanyard around your neck, made with some nice bungee line, so if you accidentally get hit by a wave and lose the grip on your jaw, you have another layer of security to not lose the camera. You can pass it on to the mount below the screw. In the ocean, you may also need to ventilate with your mouth after you get kept underwater for a bit.
@@DavidManningvlog i have used also the GoPro wrist mount, the velcro strap should be little longer to secure it on a thicker wetsuit. The velcro seems strong anyway. But still I made a short bungee wristband and passed it on the mount. I know too many people who lost GoPros in the ocean, You get hit by a wave, banged on a rock or aby a surfboard and you can be unlucky. I am in NY where you don't see the bottom, and the current is usually strong, so it is hard to find the same spot where you were. I also tie a gopro hero 7 on the tip of my pneumatic speargun with a cheaper wrist/helmet mount, but I also tether it with a little loop of dyneema line to the speargun itself. I found this bungee line made by some US marine veteran company on Amazon. Got a long spool for 10 bucks and I can make easily wrist or neck lanyards. I wish GoPro also came out with a new camera with a smaller form factor, like a Session with small LCD screen and removable battery.
About the SD Card section, any tips or pros and cons of having 1 large capacity card like the Sandisk 512 Extreme Pro rather than multiple smaller capacity cards?
That's always a hot topic amongst photographers/filmmakers, but it generally boils down to having your eggs in multiple baskets or having your eggs in one basket. Things happen. Terrible things! Like losing your GoPro somehow, having it stolen, having it fail on you, having the SD card fail, etc. When/if that happens, the argument goes that if you had multiple SD cards, you could have swapped out the first one or two and be on your third by that point when something terrible happened. Which would mean you didn't lose an entire day's worth of footage, but just the last little bit that you filmed. Totally up to you, but I keep about six or seven 128GB cards in my bag so that anytime I'm about to put my GoPro/Osmo Action/Drone in a dangerous situation, there's a fresh SD card in there with no other footage from the day👍
Could you please make a video on the break down of all the shooting options on the HERO10 and when you would use/need to use them? Would be extremely helpful, just got mine!

Snap Mount is a Game Changer !!! Thanks to you , I love mine . Have you used Snap Mount on the outside of your vehicle while driving ? Thoughts on that ?
I've used it on the outside of my van, but not while driving. If I'm going to get a shot like that, I switch to the Seasucker mount. Magnets are awesome with pull strength, but not shear strength. So the wind could actually slide your mount around on the metal of your car. The rubber mat for the Snap Mounts helps with things like that, but ultimately I would recommend switching to a suction cup for those shots👍
My lens mod has an odd halo showing up in sunlight. I thought it was dirty and cleaned it but it's not. I love tripods with bendable legs, I am bad only usually carry one tripod and my new favorite is by SWIT and I have also been using ULANZI Tripod quick-release mounts.
The halo lens flare is for sure a thing when the MAX Lens mod is facing towards the sun. I only see it a bit here and there, but it makes sense with that large of an element out front of the actual lens

My Christmas was a go pro 10 today after many years I wanted one from the beginning 😂 I think like from go pro 6? Yes, I'm not mistaken, but well, I don't care if it gets hot because nobody records those very long times. Also let's agree that are designed to record underwater. Obviously they have to be sealed compared to a dslr or large cameras that heat up even though they are large compared to a go pro. I'm happy with my go pro 10 because I can get the juice at 5.3k 60 It's good that I could see the whole video very well explained make sense I as a videographer don't worry about that we're going to make movies anyway
You sure gave me some ideas!! Trying to figure out a way to attach a long pole to my motorcycle. Insta 360 looks like a contender but need attachment. Or the clamp mount but not sure it will hold off road.
The GoPole Chomps bite/ snorkel mount is good but MyGo Mouth Mount is x100 better. Less bounce in shots from soft rubber and more comfortable mouth trays.
It is unbelievable that you didn't mention MOST important MUST HAVE accessory and that is any rotating clip, connector or else (however to call it). When you mount gopro on a bike or on a bike-helmet or ski-helmet, 360 degrees rotator gives you varieties of angles of recording without removing your camera and re-mounting. It it so practical so you have any angle at your disposal !

Super useful reviews, thank you. I echo the thumbs up for the Ulanzi tripod stick, which has become the only one I reach for.
The GoPole Chomps bite/ snorkel mount is good but MyGo Mouth Mount is x100 better. Less bounce in shots from soft rubber and more comfortable mouth trays.
Thanks Kyle! I'll have to check that one out👍
I bought the Ulanzi Go Pro door cos of this video
Super helpful door!
So much energy drink flowing in his veins.
At... all... times...🤣
@@DavidManningvlog great content.
When I opened my GoPro the accesories got lost can I buy them back or what do you recommend me to do?
Just picked up a hero 9 this week. My first Go pro. Going to use it to make fishing videos. Saltwater is tough on my Sony handycam's. I guess I should thank you for this video...... that just cost me a couple hundred bucks in accessories. ;-)
Actually, I really appreciate the time you spent sorting out which items worthwhile for us. Thank you
David, A+ accessories list!
Have you found any useful aerial or underwater accessories for MAX LENS MODE? Like GDOME or AER throw your GoPro?
I really like the Dome from PolarPro, but don't use it enough to put it on the list!
What is the attachment you have connected to the seasucker mount? Thanks for the video very informative! I’m going shopping off your list!

Excellent reviews, thanks 👍🏻 All I needed to know in one video.
Great rundown. I would be curious to get your thoughts on magnetic mounts vs. suction mounts.
Great video! Can I charge my GoPro9 via the USB-C that is on the MEDIA MOD, while I am shooting?
Thanks, David - appreciate the work you do, my lad!

It will be awesome if we can mount the flouting orange one to the chest one or any other option for use on the water just in case it falls into the water
