Much appreciated! Yes, there are all kinds of vibes to pull out of this design for different spaces. A statement piece, yet oddly versatile.
The Strato definitely makes me get the feel of a modernized Stratojet fan! The blade cover on the bottom definitely makes it my favorite. The fact that they used Gloss on their Strato fan makes me love the Gloss Black more considering the fact that Gloss Black definitely makes the fan stand out more than matte finishes.
I'm usually not the biggest fan (ha) of 3-blade fans, but this one looks spectecular!
Why don’t you partner with Hinkley or Rejuvenation? Those are cool brands which have cool fan designs to offer. I demoed a Hinkley Hover today and I thought “Why doesn’t VFM do this?”
There are a number of reasons why I have not pursued Rejuvenation, but the most important is that I generally align myself with the lighting showroom channel, and Rejuvenation is a direct competitor to such businesses. It's just a line I tend to not cross, in valuing my relationships with existing partners and industry colleagues.
I have approached Hinkley a couple of times; they have never returned with any interest in collaborating. When the fan line was acquired from Tacony, one of my main industry contacts was hired by Hinkley to front the fan operations and I had big ideas for promotion coming off my launch with Modern Forms. But shortly after, my contact was laid off and nothing progressed when I reached out on my own. I continue to occasionally interact online and visit their DMC showroom in attempt to break through because it really is a line I'd like to bring in, but they just seem to have zero interest. Any major showroom brand that I have not partnered with already is by their own choice or lack of motivation to make something happen. Believe me, I've been in various levels of communication with them all. At this point I represent so many great manufacturers who are eager and basically waiting in line to partner with me again, that I don't really have energy to waste on these others that have no real interest. As I mentioned above, I value the relationships as much as anything else, and this relationship just doesn't fit into some company strategies. That's fine, I don't need to work with everyone and they don't need to care anything about me, but I'm also not going to give them much free promo. If they want, I'm here, but I'm not wasting time chasing after them when there are tons of other great products and brands to promote. I see it as their loss. Hinkley launched fans how many years ago now, and there's still no major online presence or real-world search results for them. Modern Forms, on the other hand, has a great archive with me alone, and solid SEO visibility in terms of video and product reviews through our continued partnership.
