Bed knife was different because you when from a greens bed-knife to a standard bed-knife. McLane has two different versions, greens bed-knife are flat and stay low to ground, the standard bed-knife is curved up which sits higher from the ground.
Great piece of information. You have made it very simple. My 25" 7-blade Gr series Mclane reel mower has an issue. The reel turns but gets hard to turn at a certain spot. I am not sure what is going on. Any thoughts on what to do?
I actually just clamped on my Lightbar headlamp (led strip style headlamp) to the edge of my grass catcher. It’s a temporary install for when I mow in the dark.
I dont mow to much in the dark. In this video, I just got my lightbar headlamp and clamped it onto my grass catcher. Your comment had me searching on amazon. There were a few clamp on battery powered LED lights that I thought could work nicely.
i just used my my led lightbar headlamp and clamped it on my grass catcher. It was ok, a little dim. Perhaps a longer light strip would work better. I did see some clamp on, battery powered lights on amazon that I thought could work.
My reel mower spins if it’s on a hard surface with no problems, but once it touches grass the reel stops. I just lapped the bed knife, would a worn down bed knife do this?
Great video. You make it look so easy.

That lawn is so beautiful it looks like astro turf! Cheers!
Another great video! Very well explained
Thanks! One day, you may need to do this to yours.
Great explanation. Now the other problem I have is how do you get the reel blade out.
Good question. I have a new reel I want to put in myself.

Great explanation on your video! Is that a sticky light bar on your catcher?

ok I have to know how you rigged up the lights on your grass catcher!
I would love to see the solution of the head light. Can you share that please?

Great video
As the reel heats up during mowing the center of the bed/blade will tighten ever so littler

i would adjust the tension on the belt. Extend the rod that hooks to the handle on the left side to have a longer throw
Great vid
Thank you. I appreciate the feed back.
Aloha nice video
