Thanks for the video. I am sure your advice is good but in my case it didn't work. Some bodger lock-tighted the screws in my bedknife years back. Despite making an exact copy of the tool you recommended (including hardening and tempering) the screws wouldn't come loose. I tried heat and the striker as well as penetrating oil, all to no avail. Finally, I drilled a hole in the center of each screw, then the striker and finally an easy out to remove them. Ransome/Jacobsen are you listening? The use of a flat head, straight slot, flush head screw is a really poor solution for this application. Lazy engineering.
