I was disappointed when I went for a test drive(That never happened). The steering is not centered and the foot well is narrow with the center pushing against the left leg. Now, I'm 187cm tall so this is felt heavy, and the seat adjustability for my height is better in a VW Polo. Couldn't get to the paddles without kneeing the under parts of the steering rack and dash...!! Love this car so much, left the dealership hurt. Didn't even test drive it after all these issues, issues no journalist seems to mention about the vehicle.
A very competent car. Didn't have the great eastatics(sic) of cars such as the chinese Jolion inter alia but if you are looking for an honest reliable and efficient SUV this is it.
No, the wipers actually do an excellent job of clearing rain off the windscreen, and even clearing the back window of grime (driving on unsurfaced roads does deposit a ton of dust on the rear window quite quickly. And the spare wheel position is not bad at all, hanging from a bracket below the car. Inside the boot (right up against the boot lip), there is a bolt that one unscrews using the wheel spanner, and then the bracket is released, enabling one to slide out the spare wheel to the rear.
@@MotorMatters no no I meant journalists out there. I forgot to mention that I agree with you on the gearbox. It has tiny issues but most journalists line nitpicking. I was finding for you on this point, I just didn't say. (Where we disagree is the volume Multi functioning stalk. Please accept that it even got to the electric car so you may not win on that one. Lol great review Meneer
@@thetad1242 I think we need to absorb it by now, its a reno DNA🙂. I had a megane and later a fluence and had they had the same thing. I don't have a problem with it. I must say.
I agree with what many journalists are saying about the gearbox: sometimes it is a bit indecisive about the right gear to pick especially in a lot of start and stop driving environment (like driving around in your local suburb). But it is by no means BAD, just noticeable. The gearbox tends to upshift to 5th too soon at speeds below 70km/h, leaving it in one gear too high for the power curve of the engine at that low rev count. But if one depresses the accelerator a bit, it readily kicks down a gear. Also, if there's a lot of stop streets or traffic lights spaced at regular (300-500m apart) I sometimes just switch over to manual shift when hitting around 50km/h and gear down to 4th gear, which I feel saves a (small) bit of fuel if you are driving under these circumstances, especially if there is traffic on the road and you have to do some light acceleration, for instance to pass someone in the left lane looking for parking. The throttle is just more responsive in fourth gear under those circumstances, obviating the need to push down on the accelerator to convince the gear box to drop down a gear when needed. But mostly, I just leave it in Auto and enjoy the driving experience. WHOOOOSA Duster!!
Speed Limit/Cruise Control activation buttons clearly seen at 16:14 on video. Strange place for that but also strange that you didn't see it.

Miles better than all the Chinese shitboxes being dumped on the SA market these days!

What is the crash rating for this vehicle. Google says that it's 0
It's a great car but mine gave me a problem with the diesel engine, when you accelerate it lags . Maybe I'll upgrade to this one
Which year model?
Can you do a Zen review? Curious on how you the euro 3 vs euro 4 etc spec engine.
Wipers look too short for the windscreen. Spare wheel position not good

Your camera man is failing us
Journalists are very petty. Yes the jacking of the gearbox on low speeds are there but never really a deal breaker
I'm not sure I understand you here, I always try to show both the positives and negatives that I note in every test vehicle
