There are millions of Republicans who have moved to Florida. We're no longer a purple state. I remember the days of one Democratic governor after another. Until Jeb Bush came along, and then it's been Republican after Republican. SE Florida no longer swings elections as it did in the past.
Too many way underestimate how many Republicans there are in the state. Getting a Democrat elected governor is highly unlikely. Though I keep voting.
Almost a third of Americans believe that religious views should dictate the nation's laws. They're reliable voters. Too many of the rest of us aren't. Theocrats voting reliably Republican is only part of the problem. There are millions on the left who refuse not only to see how big a problem the theocratic right has been for decades, but even to acknowledge that the theocratic right exists. So many won't even discuss the issue.
Maxwell Frost is a bright light for all Floridians. Even though I don't live in Florida, I follow the intelligent fight for democracy and for climate change solutions that Maxwell Frost provides.

I'm 62 and I absolutely love seeing younger people taking on these roles. I remember how they started teaching environmental responsibility (Earth Day started in 1970) when I was in elementary school. It's so frustrating that so little has still changed. The conservative mindset hopes to convince people that slavery wasn't a total loss. When slaves became free, they took their on the job training skills with them into the labor force. The truth is that slavery had no redeeming features for African Americans. It only benefited the slave owners.

I saw someone refer to Jamie Raskin as "articulate" recently. I think of it as a compliment, meaning someone is well spoken. Many in Congress are far from articulate.
In my '50s, I know the past is far from perfect but just anyone could not grab the microphone. People had to speak well and be intelligence, and that's across the board.
