My username says it all. Although I unfortunately sold mine several years ago and it now resides in Sweden with it's new owner. Seeing this video makes me smile.
I had a 70 Road Runner that same color. I paid $1200 in 1978 from a Dodge/Plymouth dealer. 383 magnum, automatic, bench seat the cheap version of the Magnum 500 wheels, they had the removable beauty ring. It had 63 thousand miles on it. It had a burnt valve, so it was my first time pulling heads. I put about 30 thousand miles on it when it started running badly due to the plastic coated timing gear. The plastic was breaking apart, which caused erratc timing. It came factory stock with a Holley 500cfm carb. It ran alright. I wish I had not let other priorities of being young and ignorant. I was making great money for the time, and I thought partying was more important. I wonder today what some bolt ones and a 750 cfm carburetor with some gears how much better it could have been. A friend of mine had a 70 Hemi GTX.
I never realized the production numbers of 6 pack 70 GTX's were that low. Back in 1976 local guy owned one. It was blue with the 440 6 pack pistol grip 4 speed. I remember the car vividly. It developed a legend as to how fast the car was. He put 4:56 gears in the tail and beat up on everything locally. Then i found out he got married and his wife couldn't drive a 4 speed.. and he swapped in a 383 auto combo. Fast forward 6 years after my navy service and then found out the guy had sold the car and it was rusting away in 3rd owners backyard. No clue if the original drivetrain went with the car. What a shame. I am a chevy guy but i love the GTX's!
I bought a 69 gtx back in 71 for 1600.00! Burnt orange, black vinyl roof with black interior! 440 4speed hurst shifter and I wish I still had it today.
Nice GTX! But one question. I thought both Hemi & 440 6 pack cars with 4 speeds couldn't be had with A.C.? So did I see a "Airtemp" sticker on the P.S. rear window??
Its called a survivor because it’s never been formally restored in over 50yrs with 1 repaint & a motor refresh having original interior, chrome, bumpers outside trim, wheels numbers match drivetrain etc. It’s much more a survivor then being a complete body off restoration like most of these cars are today. I’d replace the trunk pan if it’s truly that bad, detail the heck outta the car top to bottom & go thru it mechanically & have fun with it ad is which would look good as it vs going at to make make it perfect.
One of my favorite body styles. It’s a shame that the oil embargo killed Detroit muscle. I’m a MOPAR or no car guy. Looks like this will be a nice car when y’all get through with it.
Mostly all there, but it was kinda rough. I guess the parking brake is broken. Trunk floor looked bad, the Rt rear qtr looked full of bondo. It looked like the trunk leaked like a sieve. Interior seats looked like the panels had been reupholtered with some weird, cheap material. Round exhaust tips were OReillys specials, & no resonator. Wheel center caps were mismatched. Not the greatest choice of color for repaint. If it were an original black car, that would be best choice, but the bodywork would have to be pretty good. That said the underside was pretty rust free. Numbers matching a big plus.
I wonder how many yellow gold 70 GTX 440 4 speed Dana cars made , and how many are still numbers matching. I like the odd ball colors that Mopar made few if so it’s perfect for us. But I’ll take the black one too 🍻😂
@@ChasingMusclecars_Mopars5150 Friend of mine had a 1970 satellite 318 car that color back in the 70's !!! He kept trying to destroy that drivetrain so his dad would get him a 383 or 440 motor to replace the 318 , he never could get it to blow up as far as I know !!! 70 miles an hour dropping it in low gear tranny survived too !!!
His aunt bought it new. Thats one cool ass aunty lol. Little old lady from Pasadena 😂❤ when i got my roadrunner in 79 for 2400 bucks i could have got his 70 gtx for 2800 instead. I still have the roadrunner and he still has the gtx lol
Yes we are aware of that, we called it out on the video, however 6 pack is what people know better and honestly I just like it better. Same thing with Sassy grass vs green go and the various other color’s. But yes your right, the names are different 👍
My son works for me, he went there for me. Why does everything on the web have to be turned into something negative? Here a 22 year old is out there working and you gotta say shit like that?
It’s funny they were advertised as like the high end rich businessmen car over the Satellite and Road Runner. But today there not worth as much to the market who want the cheap flare of the Road Runner. It’s like the Road Runner name is remembered more. Myself, I like drivers, Satellite sport, 383 4BL, no nonsense, get the job done, cursing car…..
@ChasingMusclecars_Mopars5150 I watched a channel recently they were doing a 70 aar Cudal only original sheet metal leftward the plenum and they tried to call it a real car stating it was a restoration. I said tribute.car now nothing original left
@@ChristopherRalston we save them from the worst of the worst too, we don’t believe in crushing any. At what point does it become a tribute in your eye?
@@ChristopherRalston so at 50% we’re ok? Even 75% but 90% too much? So if 10% left its to the crusher it goes? And just say “oh well, there’s 1 less now”? But if it’s 89% let’s save it? Nah, I can’t subscribe to that. Save them all, regardless if it’s 1 quarter or 90% it’s no longer original. That doesn’t mean we throw it away. My opinion of course #savethemdontcrushthem
Got love a GTX, and the 5150 team , will give this car the love it deserves, mopar or no car. Would love one..
I love when a seller calls the car a survivor with a repaint & engine rebuild !! hahahahah
😂😂😂
It survived the crusher at least I guess. Lol. So many great cars just tossed away…ughh.
@@melvinsmiley5295‼️💯‼️
@@melvinsmiley5295thanks obama sorry ass for that
Beautiful car keep the videos coming 2024
What a tidy little Driver 😍 just needs a matching set of tires and a million miles racked on it. Even possibly have the trunk pan re-done.
The owner drove it like it is supposed to be driven. Nice car. Love B bodies

The fake phone call from a different buyer at the same moment!!

That’s a sweet car but even just a few minutes into the video she’s been hit hard in the back for the right price though grab it
Cant turn that down even with the few issues it has....... sure they got it at a decent price........

Wow this guy's aunt was a speed freak
70 was the first year for blue plates in CA.
Dang This guy has both my favorite cars up for sale in same garage. Wtf
I will take it
Nice!!! 🤜🤛
How much Bro?
Guess when the E-brake is shot, gotta toss a couple 4×4's to chock the tires. 😮
Owner changed the drums to disc brakes & didnt buy parts for E-brake for disc brakes !!!
Nice
I'm jealous!!!!😃

That car probably got rear ended pretty hard back then
Stop selling the car guy…it speaks for itself.

6bbl 4 sod with air temp sticker on window
Over 54 years anything can be replaced
Instead of collecting all that numbers matching bullshit get a bee body put a hellcat motor in it then you got something
To each their own big dawg 😂👍
Says nothing has been done to it and proceeded to tell him I worked the motor the battery the pipes etc
😂😂
I would like to know what he paid for it.
