Trying my New Battery Hedge Trimmer on this Huge Conifer Hedge!

In this video I am trying out my new stihl hla 66 on this conifer hedge. I have tried it on a few trimming jobs but this was its first proper test! Hope you enjoy 😊👍

With conifer hedges you trim as tight as possible but not beyond the green growth 😊👍

I've been using a Stihl Combi for years, it's really up to the jobs for a working gardener & good value so when worn out you just replace the power unit, although I'm only on my 2nd since 2009, all year round working. But it's heavy & noisy. Circumstances may dictate that I have to get something lighter. How's the balance with this? You were happy with the battery what about the job it did? How long to recharge from empty?

Yes I also have been using the combi for years now and still will. This is much lighter and easier on my back. It did a really good finish on the conifer. I wouldn’t want to try it on anything too thick! 👍

It takes about an hour to charge from empty depending which charger you have.

is this a hedge you cut regularly ? if so how often do you cut it , every 12 months or less time in between cuts
