Surprisingly good little mixer. Powering one from the USB port on an Akai MPC Live 2 for performing. Low noise and huge amount of inputs compared to other small-factor mixers.
Thanks Mark, I use a Behringer. But will forwarding this to my friend who is looking for one of these. Thanks for the. Demo and honest feedback it's much appreciated.
@@markmccaffertymusic4686 Sounds really good. Very quiet mixer. Forgot to ask how are you amplifying the backing track out of the phone? Is there a guitar amp or monitors in your set up?
I bought one of these. The knob visibility is definitely a problem. I have a stock of better knobs (If the shaft diameter is standard). Update - standard knobs won't fit properly ! - The diameter seems right but all my knobs have the splined part recessed back inside the knob and they won't push sufficiently far onto the shaft to stay on, so had to revert back to the originals. The problem is probably the shafts being too short.
@@sawtooth808 No provision for batteries - It uses 5v DC - a flat micro USB plug fed from a standard USB plug in a mains adaptor. It's a great mixer, just a shame it hasn't got sliders so as to see the levels from a few feet away.
@@markmccaffertymusic4686 I previously had two 4ch mixers of some other make, two of the same model. I wanted 8 channels so I tore them apart and wired them together into a new longer case. Also changed the rotary controls for sliders. These were earlier technology and the pots weren't mounted on the PCB. I'm sure the Moukey isn't so easy to modify. I won't even try.
@@squishmusic But you can buy a headphone amp and plug through it. This makes for a cheap and very good silent rehearsal kit if you have a band or want to jam with some friends. If you are jamming with more than 4 people then connect 2 headphone amps daisy chained and there you go.
We are two guys and want to jam silent with headphones... So we want to use two Zoom G1Xon Guitar Multieffect Pedals with this Mixer. I go out from the G1Xon (Headphone OUT) with stereo cables to the Mixer INPUT. So can i use two headphones with the same sounds on this device? One headphone on OUT A and one headphone on OUT B and we hear both the same from our guitars/effect pedals? The description says something like OUT A C1-C4 and OUT B C5-C8, so this is confusing me... Thanks!
So is it ultra low noise? Is there any colouring of the sound? I have a load of synths I want to permanently wire into my interface but don’t want any audio quality loss. Thanks
This little thing is very audacious. Slaughtered all competition not only with price but with exceptional features, - being an 8 stereo channel mini board, - it also has an extra output for headphones. I use an 8 and a 4 channel Mookeys as FX sends pre-mixers in my home setup, and sometimes use the 8 channel one for gigs. it even has an option for external ground loop. Its only serious con is poorly visible markings on the pots.

I got one, it works just great!
Great review and demo. How are you connecting your phone to it for the backing track?
Just lead from phone headphone socket into one of the channels on mixer. Need an adapter of course for the different jack sizes.
It’s interesting that the US model doesn’t have that ground connector on the back.

@@markmccaffertymusic4686 hey Mark. Can I take a live phone call with it. For my podcast ?

Is this thing battery operated? If it is, this thing will give Bastles Duud (I think that’s how Bastl spells it) a run for its money.

As I mention in vid a little bit of white paint on the knobs sorts the issue out. Still a bad design fault though!!

Can the output be run/used as a headphone (with 6.3mm>3.5mm jack plug)?
My question as well. Ever find out?
@@Ones_Complement nope :/

Actually you can use the out as a headphone,I do it and works fine!

That’s exactly why I’m looking at this device.
@@Tara-Maya got one and it works great. Had to get all the levels perfect though. Aimed for around -12dbs and it’s a totally clean uncoloured signal

Can I connect 8 stereo synths with this or only 4? (Are the individual stereo or does it convert two single input to one stereo channel?)

Has anyone tried recording through this? What’s the quality like?
Is it usbC?
No it's not.
CAN I PUT MULTIPLE MICROPHONES AT THE SAME TIME? , CAN I BUY IT ON AMAZON?
Yes although it’s not XLR inputs so you’ll need to use an adaptor and it was on Amazon when I got it so might still be there?
Sir hindi
