I have just about got everything that I need to start. Thanks to y’all ladies. I just received my npi number. I have one vehicle it seats 6 and a wheelchair. Now I need cameras, wrap, software and general and commercial insurance. Y’all are awesome!!!!!!
You got my back Jazmine? I definitely got yours! You both are absolutely right! Be proactive and have a secondary plan in mind! I kinda oppose on acquiring a rental because say for instance if you're an Operator with no other staff support, time is essence and having a company to back you up is a faster response!
You guys are phenomenal. I have untilized your expertise on many occasions. We have one ambulatory and one one wheelchair. Just working on the clientelle
Both of you ladies are a Blessing to us all just trying to get our businesss off the ground! Thank you!!! Peace and blessings to you always 💖💖🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽!!!
I was a driver and then transitioned to dispatcher and supervisor doing schedules etc… I got to all sides of the business. Probably the best job I’ve had. Looking to start my own service soon… will definitely be following y’all and may be asking lady in the passenger seat for her hand in marriage!! 😂❤
You girls are amazing, great job with your business. i've been watching your videos and have been considering starting up an NEMT, everything you have talked about is very educational. Thank you for posting !!
You can If the vehicle is included under your business commercial auto policy. If not and an accident occurs, you could face serious problems. I would advise you to speak with your NEMT insurance agent about this question.
High cost of insurance is one of them but there are many other industries that face that same challenge. If you are consistently bringing in business you can make the money to cover this cost in its entirety within weeks to a month. The only other issue I could think of is NEMT brokers that lowball. This is an issue However, you do have some brokers that pay well and as a provider you do not have to do business with them. This is why it’s important to tap into your creativity to explore every other opportunity that is out there for your business.
Well that is a very very very very very good question I've been in the nemt business for over 12 years I can tell you some of the issues that plague us the insurance costs for sure insurance will be the downfall of this business now if you look at the Uber and Lyft drivers who also do medical transportation for the Brokers they are not required to have as the the amount of insurance that you as a as a transportation provider must have also the Uber and Lyft drivers will be paid more per trip than what you will be paid for and also to top things off you are going to have to compete with the Brokers because most of these Brokers have got a fleet of their own Vehicles their own cars their own Vans their own wheelchair vans and you are in direct competition with the Brokers the brokers will tell you that their drivers get the most profitable trips first and we get the scraps so if you want to know anything about any EMT business it's not all fun and games believe me
If one of your vehicle breaks down and you have a second driver rush over to the scene to help. how do you compensate that driver? How do you decide how much to pay the 2nd driver that assisted you
It depends! If the employee is currently working or on-call, they earn their regular wages. For on-call situations, you’d compensate based on the agreed-upon wages established during the hiring process.
Hey y'all, thank you for supporting us tirelessly. I am having a hard time getting insurance policy for my NEMT business. Do you have one in mind ? I am starting with one vehicle, ofc backup plan in hand lol. Please, waiting for your recommendation/suggestion.

Just wanted to get information about your 10-week course do I need to go to your website or what are the steps I need to take to get information on your 10-week course?
Well I can tell you one thing, if you only have one vehicle you may not need a plan because the Brokers will not send you any trips with just one vehicle in your Fleet I have seen this time after time after time people start out small and if you don't grow fast and quick you're in trouble cuz remember you're you're not only competing against other companies other Transportation companies you're also competing against the Brokers the Brokers like LCP and vereda and well-trained and southeastrans and they all have their own vehicle Fleet you're competing with the trips the good trips the most profitable trips are given to the Brokers employees and then we providers we get the scraps
The people that I know that are in this business will not offer any help at all they are in direct competition there it is fierce the competition is fierce when we started in this business 12 years ago there were two of us in the county two Transportation companies in the county we now have 14 and they are all Cutthroat they are cutting their rates they are transporting people for six and eight dollars a trip it's absolutely terrible

Yes I got you! You’re absolutely right! The more efficient way to go would be to partner with another provider.

Question to both of you , can you use your personal vehicle to transport your clients in case your only vehicle broke down unexpectedly?
You can If the vehicle is included under your business commercial auto policy. If not and an accident occurs, you could face serious problems. I would advise you to speak with your NEMT insurance agent about this question.
I would love to know the problems NMET providers face? for example high cost of insurance.

@@Mjbusinessacademy Hey guys, thanks a bunch! I've just sent you an email.
Do you have to get credentialed with insurance companies?
When working with health plans yes, there is a vendorization process that you must go through. Each organization has their own requirements.
Hi, how do we sign up for your 10-week course? I saw it mentioned on another video.

Did you guys start out with 2 vehicles?
Nope! We started with just one wheelchair accessible van
It would be ok. If l say l have one van. And l have 2 personal cars ..
Why wouldn’t that be okay?
do you do disabled students?
No we do not but we do know other providers that do.
