Lynn here on Hubby's phone mines playing up 😏, Awww Ali I just Love how you talk to people on the Bowel subject , there's no doubt about it , it's going to help a lot of people, it's so brave of you to put yourself out there like that , Take Care Love xx
When you talk books whey hey I like it I have taken your audible recommendations 👍 not been disappointed 👍 also your read books searched audible & enjoyed ones I could find 👍 I like to listen ( my new radio/ tv ) is audible so I can dog walk garden knit & craft rather than page turn or kindle AUDIBLE Is just great for me Thanks Ali keep up the good work ❤
I love your book vlogs. I’ve read quite a few books from your recommendations. I felt the same starting The Plot, but then started really liking it. I told the premise of it to my husband and he wants to listen to it together on our trip. So that’s getting saved for our 10 hour trip back to St Louis. I’m putting Other Women on my list. I am putting The Graveyard on my list just from the comments 😋
I downloaded Other Women after seeing you talk about it and I finished it in 2 days! Such a gripping story. There's a book called The Maiden that's a similar theme, that gripped me just as much, and it's set in Edinburgh!
The same author as Babel has just released a book called Yellowface. It is amazing, I read it in two days, totally compelling reading. Highly recommend.
In your previous book vlog you talked about the Practical Magic book and you said you thought it was part of a series. I enjoyed the film and have watched it a few times. I didn't know there was also a book so I looked for it on Amazon and found the full series which I bought. I'm really enjoying book one and finding out how the story started. Thank you Ali 🙂
Any talk about books and recommendations I love. I’m currently reading Lessons in Chemistry which I think you may have in your to read pile? I’m enjoying it. One of my best friends went through the same as you from a teenager, over 50 years ago now, and many a night we were unable to go out socialising because she was so ill, so I do appreciate what you have been through.
Oh my gosh it was amazing, I was utterly enthralled by it and the narration was outstanding (only afterwards I realised it was two narrators, I thought it was one narrator really good at voices 😄)
I went to Goldsmith’s in the late ‘70s/early 80s and loved it……not sure how much studying I did though 😂 I’m off to download Other Women right now - I love that era. Thank you for the inspiration 😊❤
I added your book recommendations and the comments ladies thoughts also to my reading list. I loved GREAT EXPECTATIONS when I read it years ago so it sounds like I must reread. Also thanks for sharing your illness journey with us.
You made me cry, because you described what my mother when through for about 13 years. I was age 10 to 23. That could be a great help to many people. I am sorry that so many people experience this, but am glad that it is spoken of freely now. Stay cool in more ways than one.
Thank you for being so open about your medical stuff, I’m sorry you had to go through such a horrific time and I hope Shit Bag is good representation! I’d keep They Both Die At The End but it WILL smash your heart to pieces! Gorgeous video, thanks for sharing! 💛
Thanks Victoria! I will maybe give They Both Die at the End a go - it has intrigued me since she got it! Just finished Babel so need to give my heart a little rest for a bit though 😅
Thank you for sharing your past and what you went through. I'm so glad you are healthier and living such a full life! I am very interested in a few of the books talked about and will be looking into reading them or listening to them. Again thanks for sharing and have a great and cooler week! Here In Ohio we are so smokie and on an air quality alert due to the forest fires in Canada. It's not very pleasant outside.
I always enjoy your book chats and keep a note of recommendations from you! Can’t imagine not having a good book on the go! Thank you for sharing your bowel story as I’m sure there is always someone going through the same thing somewhere, take care x
Loved this video about books 📚 and yes you really have come through a lot so glad you are ok now …… I must get around to that Agatha Christie book you are reading as I have have that on my shelves 💞📚💞
I downloaded Babel after you mentioned it in a vlog and have just finished it. Thank you so much, I absolutely loved it. Although it's fantasy, the fact that it's based in reality and involves such important issues that are still so relevant in Britain today made it a great book for me.
Totally and utterly agree. The fantastical elements almost felt plausible 😄 I finished it this week and loved it, I have passed it onto Dan now and I am hoping he loves it as much as I did! xx
shitbag looks like a really interesting book, having that sort of representation is so important, especially when you feel isolated. I absolutely adore the enola holmes series, though if you're going to try it do be aware that it is quite different from the movie and definitely written for a young audience. I read the graveyard book in high school and really loved it, I don't remember a lot about it but I do remember the characters were great.
Great video, you're definitely a BookTuber! I absolutely loved Other Women, one of my favourite books this year so far. I enjoyed Preloved but think I would have liked it even more if I'd have read it rather than listen to it. Thank you for sharing your bowel story - hopefully by being open about it, it will help somebody else x
Sorry it's hot AGAIN!,, Hope it has got better,,, I am waiting for a book from my library ,,the homecoming by Kate morton,,,, and will write down a few from UR list ,,,Too,,,, Thanks Ali,,,, Elaine 🏠🏠😍
After hearing you talk about Babel, now I want to read it! It sounds so interesting! Lovely vlog as usual 💗 hope the heat is giving you a break; I feel you, because I’m the same as you, a summer S.A.D. afflicted soul 😌
Ooohhh Ali I’m so happy to hear how much your loving Babel I was the same I couldn’t wait to read and I’ve kept my copy because one day I know I will read and enjoy and love it all over again 😊
It's so good! I just finished it this evening and have passed it straight to Dan. I can’t help thinking (wishing?) that there may be a follow up….maybe 🤞🏻
I’m reading Babel at the moment and it will definitely be making its way onto my list of Top 5/10 books at the end of the year. There’s no book like it at all and it’s one that will always have a home on my shelves. I just wish I had more time to read it in the day because by the time I get to it I can only manage a few pages before my evening meds kick in and I fall asleep. I should also take advantage of Borrowbox or Libby and listen to some more audiobooks. I’ve got out of the habit of listening to them but you’re making me want to dive back into some classics again, which I’ve not touched for a while so thank you 🙏
I have been using and aahhing about reading babel and you have convinced me x Thank you for sharing your bowel story. I have heard you talk about bits of it before but today was the first time I had heard it all. You are one strong lady (with a fantastic family behind you too) x
Always love hearing anyone talk books! I STILL need to read preloved, might pick it up next! I'm so glad I put Shit bag on your radar, and thank you for sharing your story, I first found out about UC and chrons as a student nurse on a gastro ward and I think you guys are BADASS. I also watch Hannah Witten who vlogs about living with UC and her stoma (who she calls mona) ❤
I downloaded Other Women after I saw you enjoying it, so glad I did. I listened to it every afternoon while I was getting back into a big cross stitch project (Mirabilia ‘Tree of Hope’). I absolutely loved the book and thought the narration was great. Without giving too much away, I was shocked at the end at the wife’s choice of her husband’s possessions.
Just finished Babel. So different! But I have always been fascinated by etymology so that alone was worth the price of admission. Question - do you think Ramy was in love with Robin?
YES YES YES! There was one little hint, Ramy said something like "...don't you know?" when talking about why he didn't want to be with Letty... I finished the book yesterday and I am still processing it all today. I hope there's a another book following Victoire....
@@ThisLittleWonderfulLife exactly the scene i was thinking of, then at the end when Robin is remembering the first day they met I felt it there too. Would be great to follow Victoire's story too. I am also processing and am curious about what bits are pulled from historical events.
Oh my! The only thing better than reading "The Graveyard Book" is listening to the audio book read by Neil Gaiman himself! It is amazing!
Please keep the graveyard book, it’s fab 😁
I loved loved loved The Graveyard Book! I’m excited to check out all the books you mentioned.
I loved The Graveyard Book!! I think you should give it a try. One of my favorite Gaiman books.
Books & Bowels would be a great name for a channel! 😂❤
Love your channel so much x

I loved The Graveyard Book! Also enjoying your bookish vlogs. Happy reading!
I just finished The Flatshare thanks to you so now I'm watching this hoping for some good ideas for my next audiobook!
I downloaded Other Women after seeing you talk about it and I finished it in 2 days! Such a gripping story. There's a book called The Maiden that's a similar theme, that gripped me just as much, and it's set in Edinburgh!
I listened to The Graveyard Book through Audible. Loved it!
The same author as Babel has just released a book called Yellowface. It is amazing, I read it in two days, totally compelling reading. Highly recommend.
I have loved all of Alice feeneys books but I couldn’t finish listening to ‘his and hers’ so you aren’t alone!
Absolutely loved this! Thank you for so many great book recommendations my TBR is now even longer 😂.
I read all the Enola Homes books. They are good for the age group. The books are different from the movie. I am glad I read them.
Ella said the same about They Both Die in the End.
Just in case anyone in Canada and probably the US - the book Pre-Loved is called The Second Chance Store and is releasing on July 4, 2023.
When you do a book review, I sit here with Libby open and request almost every book you review. Thanks for the great reviews and information.
In your previous book vlog you talked about the Practical Magic book and you said you thought it was part of a series. I enjoyed the film and have watched it a few times. I thought Babel was fantastic. Wasn't sure it was my type of book but it was a great read.

You're so welcome! x
Thanks!
Thank you so much Sandra! So very kind of you ❤️
Always love your vlogs, interesting to see what others are reading. Thank you. The weather has been hot, but it should start cooling next week.
I hope so 🥵 it’s been better today but muggy. Thanks Jane 😘

Thank you! I just finished it tonight, my lips are sealed 🤐 😄 One of my favourite subjects is bowels 😂
How fantastic Goldsmiths University ❤, can imagine London during the heat is utterly unbearable.

also my husband just walked in and said "books and bowels? That should be your new channel name"
😂 Best channel name ever! I will check out Hannah's channel. I used to call my stoma Audrey 2!
@@ThisLittleWonderfulLife ok anyone who understands that reference is a friend of mine 🤣
I read The Graveyard Book. I gave it four stars. It was a little suspenseful and mysterious, just a fun read.
Thanks for this! I do love Neil Gaiman so may hold onto it 😃
Love the bookish blogs, leep them coming! I would say definitely give the Graveyard Book a try, I loved it.
Still think you should give The One by John Marrs a try, very gripping and thought provoking as are all his books x
ME TOO! That was a very strange decision. I hadn't realised until the end that it was based on a true story, incredible x
I enjoyed Enola Holmes. Have not seen the video version. Books create a better sense of a character and their world for me.
I love your bookish vlogs 🧡 Other Women is next on my TBR list!
Hope you enjoy it as much as I did Elaine! xx
@@ThisLittleWonderfulLife Thank you, I'm having an excellent reading year so far so fingers crossed 🤞
I just finished “The Stranger Diary” by Elly Griffiths. (Audio)
😍 I thought of you and think you’ll enjoy it. 💃 🕺

Its hotter than snot here. I may try try to read or find "Shit Bag". I still have a recessed stoma. It can be brutal. Thanks for the update.
❤
❤️
They both die at the End was a DNF for me, I didn't like the characters and found the writing really boring.
Thank you for this Elaine! I spoke to lillia about it again and she said she started off loving it but got bored in the middle xx
