Are there attempts to use a sustainable material like jute or hemp for the sacks? I think that would also allow the walls to transfer moisture better, wouldn't it?
@frankhanna6745, @justlooking4202 , All good questions - I have wondered these myself. I guess, once the tamped earth has set hard, the polypropylene bags could be cut away from the structure - then there would only be a strip between each layer remaining
Good luck with your neat looking domes. One question though, what do you mean when you use the word "communal" in this video? Makes me think of hippie communes when you say that.
The dome shape is such a terribly inefficient use of space that is more than worth the extra cost to build a rectangular house with wood or bricks or iron.
