  • Join us as Monte brings us a new teaching entitled Messianic Teachings for Christians. In this teaching, Monte delves into the church teaching they have received and contrasts it with what Messianics are learning. In this episode, Monte explains the traditional Messianic articles of clothing, what they represent, and the commandments behind them. He also discusses the differences between traditions, customs, and commandments. This is not an introduction to Judaism; far from it. It is a detailed review of what the Messiah and His Apostles taught and did concerning these topics. It will explain what Judaism has added to the Bible and what Christianity has taken away from the Bible.

Thank you for explaining the kippah and yes, the yarmulka (authority of the King), why we need to wear them. I appreciate knowing that our service men must wear their designated caps, for they are under authority (Matthew 8:9). I am really enjoying your teachings, revealing things never discussed in Christian circles.

You nailed it, Monte, with the reference to the difference between going to church on Sunday and saying Sunday has replaced the Sabbath. Been trying to explain that in the church for years as one of the only Torah-observant people there. I get grief from both sides, one for keeping Torah, the other for going to a "Sunday church" wiith my little lamp of oil.

Right there with you, sister. Some of us have the calling like Paul to go out to the non Jewish church. God wants to minister to all people. And sometimes we are called to testify of a tradition to those of a different tradition for the benefit of our bretheran.

'This' is what I love hearing, how Monte explains things so we will better understand what is being taught in the scriptures! Many years ago back in the 80's, I was taught by my aunt and uncle, Dee and Carlton Baxter, things about Israel. Then a few years later, I first heard about Messianic, and the Torah. Several more years passed, then He led me to Lion and Lamb Ministries. Since then, I can't even tell you how much God has been a wonderful blessing to me. I absolutely love hearing Monte teach, as God has blessed him to teach in everyday language so even I can understand. I have many of his DVD's and CD's, watch and listen to them over and over, as God lets me glean something more each time, so even though I have been a Messianic believer for the past several years, I still learn many things I had never known, and some of which have slipped my mind. Thank you God, for sending Monte to teach the truth in Your scriptures.

Very glad you brought up military "cover" hats. It is about "Respect". Being a veteran & wearing a cover for YEARS, it became muscle memory to us - regarding removal of the cover inside & NEVER forgetting to put it back on while going outside. Wearing the cover & saluting your superiors - showing respect. I can see why a head-cover would be a good "tradition" & veiling our heads while in prayer to the Most High. I like the concept of it.😊

The Tallit is a lesson all by itself which was very interesting to me. I think that should be taught to Christians in prison because the Tallit would be a great tool for them for their prayer lives. For all the women asking, yes, the Tzitzit is for you as well. In numbers and dueteronomy the hebrew words used for "sons of isreal" is also the same word used for honoring the sabbath, remembering the holy feast days, and eating the mana. You are supposed to wear it as frontlets for your eyes, so it will keep your hear and mind on the Lord.

The Tzitzit isn't your covering. Women are to wear a head covering as a cover for strength against the angels, and other men. To keep the lustful prying eyes of men and angels from looking upon your beauty.
The Tzitzit is a reminder to obey the law of God, especially the ten commandments.

I have read a very convincing argument that the word "head" in these passages includes ALL the features of the head and can be used interchangeably when speaking of the face. If true, this means that you will not wear a veil on your face (to hide your beard) and look as a woman does. This also sheds light on why G-d gave us commandments for beards. To shave your beard was what you would do if you wanted to look like a woman. I remember my Rabbi instructing a man about how to close the tallit in front of his face for the "prayer tent" and that you were never to just pull it across the lower half of the face (as a woman would). I myself don't know if any writings infer this about beards (I need to study more) but it seems logical to me as to why men are to have beards not only in the Hebrew culture but in other religions and cultures that have beards. I have applied this idea throughout my scripture reading and it has given me a different insight on many passages.
Just a side note, I always thought of the horror that must have seized the Hebrews when all those "clean-shaven" Greeks came and defiled the temple. They probably thought it was the end of the world.
I just keep adding stuff... There are non-believing Jews out there (and not just Messianics) that use tekhelet (the blue thread) since the marine snail Murex trunculus has been identified as possibly being the elusive chilazon. You are right though, it is disputed, with some Jews still awaiting the coming of Moshiach, when Elijah himself will guide them in uncovering the identity of the chilazon.

Love your comment... Lololol...yea, in this "modern age" the tzitzit can be a safety hazard. When I was doing my military training on a huge printing press (like a newspaper printing press) - ink rollers on top of ink rollers - women with long hair (or ponytail) had to be very careful or the hair could get caught in the ink rollers & literally pull the head into the printer - crushing the skull.
So, yea... gotta be aware & careful around machinery or we may see the Lord sooner than later. 😊

  • @richardgranger1791
    @richardgranger1791 Рік тому +1

Monty, we love watching your videos on messianic teachings, but I have 2 issues with this one.
I would first like to ask, what version of the Bible are you using... your translation uses words that the king James, the New Messianic Version, and even the horrible NIV are not using. For instance, the verse 1 Corinthians 11:7 that you put on the screen uses the word "veiled". This isn't in any version I own, and I even own a jehovah's witness Bible so I can prove them wrong with their own Bible!
Being that I can not find any scripture that backs up your assertion that the word "cover" in all my versions is replaced by the word "veil" in your examples leads me to believe that there is a deception here. I would hate to think you are purposely deceiving anyone, so I would like you to consider that you yourself might be deceived by false doctrine.
Issue 2 same section, you state that Paul is claiming this head covering this is a tradition. That is also false. Paul clearly states that he is praising the Corinthians for following the traditions in verses 1 and 2, but then moves on to a NEW subject, and starts discussing head coverings in verses 3-16, the entire rest of the chapter. Being that this is the subject of the entire chapter, you already know it is important, and must be taken literally. He is talking about a man NOT covering his head.
    1 Corinthians 11:
3 But I would have you know, that the head of every man is Christ; ...
4 every man praying or prophesying, having his head covered, dishonored his head.
-Verse 3 says the head of every man is Christ Yeshua, and verse 4 says that if you cover your head you dishonor Christ. Thats pretty straight forward. You see, you can't just pick, choose, and distort verses to suit your own personal beliefs.
7 For a man indeed ought not to cover his head, forasmuch as he is the image and glory of Gd, but the woman is the glory of the man.
-Covering your head COVERS THE IMAGE AND GLORY OF YA...
16 But if any man seem to be contentious, we have no such custom, neither the churches of Gd.
-Here, Paul is literally saying that WEARING A COVERING IS THE CUSTOM, not the practice of NOT wearing a covering. Jewish rabbis wore a head covering. The pagan Roman preists wore head coverings. The pagan Greek preists wore head coverings. Paul is saying not if you follow the messiah. And he is basically saying this is how it is, and if you don't like it leave. Of course I'm paraphrasing here, but he is ending the dispute by saying we do not have the custom of wearing head covers if you follow messiah.
You can argue all you want for coverings like your kippah, but it is just not biblical. The Tallit, or Tallis is to be worn when praying to give you a "personal space" to pray. It is in conjunction with the prayer closet, or going to your room to pray.
Perhaps you could let us know what version or translation of the Bible you are using and maybe giving the entire passage or chapter, not just what you want to emphasize. That might alleviate conflict in the future.
    Have a blessed day!

I had a kippah but i listened to another messianic teachings and they stated it was no where in scriptures but only in the oral torah. We do see that the priest wore the head covering but nothing about regular people.
But it doesnt seem to be a torah commandments. But the tzitzit are in scriptures. The study i watched mentioned we do honor and wear those. I wonder now if i made a mistake throwing my kippah out. I did it because i felt like i was again following man made doctrine or traditions. I have to pray if its true or not and if i need to get another one.
But if its in Torah and there is scripture i would. Im essence though i would not mind weaing a prayer shawl as a head covering. I just want to make sure whatever i do is written scripture and not traditions of men/the elders..
Just as Yeshua said in Matthew 15 and Mark 7. Forsaking the commandments of God for the doctrines of men.. i must continue to search this out more because when i threw away the kippah i felt a sense of relief that i was getting away from traditions of men..
Now im unsure what to think but dont feel as convicted still as i have not come across scripture about the kippah and if this is true..
Any versed will help. I know you shared the passage in Duet but that seems more along the lines of men/women's clothing not the head covering.

It seemed like you were making very strong arguments in the first few videos of this series, but I had to re-watch this video a few times and I am still left with many questions. For example:
    1) You mentioned that Yeshua spoke about the tallit being a prayer tent. Can you give a scripture reference and explanation for this comment?
    2) You mention someone who wears the tallit is blameless before God. This is an astonishing supposition, but you have given no explanation or support for making such a statement. Can you please provide one?
    3) I see some possible contextual support for the claim that Paul was addressing men wearing feminine head coverings, but nothing solid. Can you go deeper into this verse and make it more obvious? Thanks in advance.

Same here. My son is not a "Messianic" Christian - so what do women do? I am definitely pondering the thought of a prayer veil though - just to give the Lord my utmost respect to Him (however, I tend to talk to the Lord in places like - while driving my car, doing yard work, etc) & not raised in a culture of continual head-cover wearing like it was in ancient times (or in other countries). Hmmm, this is an interesting subject when it comes to "alone" women. Shalom🌺

I used simple scarves you can find at Goodwill for $1. It reminds me of the reverence I'm to have when I approach the throne.
I would say that in your situation, covering when you pray represents Christ as your authority as widowed.

*This is one of the most iconic verses in the bible and anyone who doesn't see that it's been changed obviously never read their's much!*
Isaiah 11:6 as it is today
*“The wolf also shall dwell with the lamb, and the leopard shall lie down with the kid; and the calf and the young lion and the fatling together; and a little child shall lead them.”*
    AS IT WAS: Isaiah 11:6
*"Then the lion shall lie down with the lamb, and the bear shall eat grass like the ox, and the child shall play on the hole of the asp, and nothing shall hurt nor destroy in all My holy mountain." (KJV).*
*What Jesus and our Father have spoken will never change, their promises are still good and our prayers are still answered! Hallelujah!!! But as impossible as this sounds, like so many of the true stories in scripture, our bibles have all been supernaturally changed by Satan in the last several years, right in our homes, in the fulfillment of prophecy. It's being done to prepare for the reign of the antichrist and the extermination of all Christians. All languages and all translations have been changed with black magic along with concordances, encyclopedias, dictionaries, history books, the ancient Hebrew, Greek, Latin and Aramaic manuscripts. Even the Dead Sea Scrolls have been changed!*
*I'm 70, was saved when I was 10, and have read only the exact same copy of the King James bible my church gave me in 1961. (This does not mean I was a King James onlyist bit now I'm glad I never read other versions or I might not have noticed the changes as easily) I had memorized many scriptures from it through the years. Then in 2014 I started seeing changes in it that I couldn't explain. I have an exceptional memory, I remember my 3rd birthday party and can draw a picture of my baby stroller. I had never owned a computer and had never heard of the Mandela Effect back then. But after finding out about this phenomenon a year and a half later when I was given my first computer, I finally found out why I had been noticing all of the oddities in my bible. I then started diligently studying what should actually be called the Daniel 7:25 effect. That's where God said He would give the antichrist the power to do this. We're seeing the fulfillment of end time prophecies happening SUPERNATURALLY! This is some of the "lying signs and wonders" in 2nd Thessalonians chapter two!*
*God said in the end of days, (NOW!) that He would send us a famine for hearing His words in Amos **8:11** and that He would give the antichrist the ability to do this in Daniel 7:25. In Daniel 12:4 He told him to seal his book until the end days. He told John **_not_** to seal his book because the end time is at hand in Revelation 22:10. One of the Greek definitions of seal in Strongs concordance is “to protect from Satan”. He also told us to “write His words in our hearts”, which meant memorize, if not word for word at least the essence of what was written, because He knew this was going to happen. He also warned us in second Thessalonians chapter two, that He would send a strong delusion to all that didn’t receive the love of the truth. I'm convinced that this is at least part of it! (not seeing the changes) The only scary thing about this is that maybe 1% of all Christians have noticed any of the **_thousands_** of changes yet!*
john oz Yes residue junkie I was a backsliden Pastor, away from God for over 25 years. When I found out that Isaiah 11:6 had supernaturaly changed from a lion to a wolf it spun me out, and as a result it brought me back to Christ. I have been back in the arms of Jesus for 12 months now. I see changes in the bible constantly now. For example, you can not find the words, "hallelujah, demons, wineskins" in the Old KJV bible anymore. Too many changes to go into. In Gen 1:1, the word heavens has changed to heaven. It no longer has the letter s in the word...
*God commanded us to "prove all things", and people **_better_** obey Him, especially on this subject. I urge you to research this. There are many brothers and sisters making videos about the changes with more proof of what was originally written and I have lots more about this in my playlist which you can 👉 find by clicking on my Lion and Lamb profile picture, or by typing into UA-cam PROOF OF BIBLE CHANGE RESIDUE JUNKIE.* 👈
*I've continued to study scripture by learning what Satan has been changing. If we don't have internet some day, or YT censors **_all_** truth, we'll only have hard copies of the bible that **_Satan_** wants us to read. At that point, Amos **8:12** will be fulfilled where it says we won't be able to find God's words anymore!*
*_May God bless all who read this with eyes to see this proof of the validity and accuracy of God's prophetic word, incredible faith strengthener and how close we are to our Saviour's return!!!!_*

I for one, understand what you are saying, and I believe Monte would as well. Sometimes we all fail to talk about something that is out of the ordinary, such as with your husband with his brain injury. But the answer is simply, Yeshua is your covering. Under normal circumstances, Yeshua covers the husband, as the husband covers the woman and children who are in the home.

Nowhere in scripture does YHWH say not to use His name. There are many scriptures where He says to call upon His Name, how can we do that if we don't say it? I believe using Hashem, Adonai, or LORD is man-made and not scriptural. The commandment of not taking His Name in vain refers to using it for a purpose it was not intended, such as cursing or in the heat of emotion.

    Dishonors his Head.
    His Head is Yeshua haMessiah,

    I ran into this comnentary.
The term kippah (Hebrew: כיפה) literally means "dome", as the kippah is worn on the head like a dome. The term yarmulke (Yiddish: יאַרמלקע) might be derived from the Polish jarmułka or the Ukrainian yarmulka, perhaps ultimately from Medieval Latin almutia ("cowl, hood"). It may also be of Turkic origin (akin to yağmurluk, meaning "rainwear"); the word is often associated with the phrase ירא מלכא (yire malka), formed from the Aramaic word for 'king' and the Hebrew root ירא, meaning 'fear'.

I don't see how a woman's hair could ever be the same as a veil. Especially if it's supposed to represent authority. Women cannot simply remove their hair. And single women have their hair all down and beautiful and flaunty, so there would be no difference between married, unmarried, authority, no authority, by just hairstyle.
This does not make sense at all especially with verse 10.

So Monte concludes that everyone who correctly speaks the name of Yehovah lacks certain level of respect, this may be correct here are those who think they know it all do this, but not everyone and I would want to know his name and how to pronounce i, just because I address Yehovah’s name by Adonai does that make me more humble , I get the reason for your respect but if I know and walk in the fear of Yehovah I’m not going to change because you say to, just like I would not wear a Kippur just because you do it, with that said we better never speak the name in vain, unfortunately forbidding one to not speak his Name is causing his name to be in vain it works both ways, this is the danger of man made traditions, if it keeps one from truth revealed by scripture it can become bad.

Sir, I respect you very much even if you sometimes do not tell the truth. In your teachings you repaeatedly claim things for which you have no basis in the scriptures (e.g. "when you put on tallit, God sees you as blameless"). Can you please state the verse which says that?
And it is obvious that you have never taken part (regulaly) in synagoge services. Otherwise you would know that the last verse of Lecha Dodi welcomes the Qeen of shabbbat (this is how the Quuen of heaven is disguised in judaism) - and that is why my adulterous people Israel, whom I love, turn their backs to the tora scrolls in the front and face the door at the back.
What is worse, they BOW to the coming Queen of heaven, which means they stick out thier buttocks towards the aron kodesh = which is in the direction of Jerushalaim = towards God.
That is why the messianics usually sit in front so that they would not stand out from the crowd so much when they refuse to bow.
Thank you for explaining the kipa and tichel background so well. God bless you and your wife.

The greek word used in 1cor11:7 is κατακαλύπτεσθαι. Meaning to cover, veil or conceal. Allow me to explain what this means in Hebrew/Israel. When a woman wears a covering in Hebrew we say כיסוי ראש "ke'sue'ie rosh" the word כיסוי means to hide or conceal. it is a very common word in hebrew we use to mean hide or fully cover. When you refer to a kippa in israel we use the word ללבוש "lil'bosh" which means to wear or put on. You never use this word for detailing a womans cover. They are two distinct different things and obvious in our culture. Understanding the culture is important when trying to understand the language especially when trying to understand a writing from that culture. "Saved by Grace, Blessed through Obedience" Shalom
