    I now have a baby bird too! I am new to caring for birds so I’m so glad I found your channel. Thank you for all the tips and knowledge 😊

    Ha I have a bird and I’ve had him for almost 7-8ish months and he still will not eat his veggies I wish he’d chow down like twig does but he’s also a little cockatiel and he’ll always be my little picky birb but also and more importantly OMG THE NAME TWIG IS SO ******** CUTE I LOVE IT, in general I just love nature themed gender neutral conure names.

    It's a really good start that they're comfortable on you. That'll just make everything easier. They've got a good appetite and want to fly so I think they're doing pretty good. It takes time for you both to develop a routine you both are happy with. They'll train you just as much as you train them.

    I rescued my Pineapple a little over 4 years ago and she’s been a blessing from the start. My favorite pods by far but it’s my first bird so idk anything lol

    Roudybush is a reputable pellet. My boy was started on them after weaning and i continued him on them. I just also dicovered Lafeber's gourmet pellets for conures. They have fruit in them also.

      I used to have parakeets and they loved their roudybush pellets. They are good quality and they don't cost a lot. Also, I recommend nutriberries too! You can give one to your bird every day as a treat or you can use them with regular pellets too.

      @@mobstercrow7515 I got the Nutri-berries and give my boy a veggie one, if he hasn't eaten a decent amount of his chop in the mornings and he gets a fruit one in early evening. I also got the pellets from the same company that makes the nutri-berries, they have fruit in them. I mix them in amongst the Roudybush for him at night.

    I have two of them for a whole year now none of them gave any eggs yet so does that mean both are males?

    Ive had a PGC before. GCs and their variations get to be cuddly birds with personalities.

    How did you get yours to let you touch him? I adopted 2 off a breeder yesterday 5 months old both and they are so scared of me!! Today was day 2 and got them to out of my hand! But when I tried to touch them they run away!

    • @blessednestpets
      @blessednestpets  9 днів тому

      It comes down to personality a lot of the time or how they were raised. My conure likely had a more hands on breeder. To build trust, work on hands off training (such as target training, spin, etc). Then, teach step up as a trick (rewarding with treats when they choose to get on your hand). Another thing you can do is treat touch as a trick. Make your hand into a tunnel and lure them close to it. Then, lure them under your hand so that it is just barely touching their head. Eventually you can place your tunnel hand over them, then a flat hand, and finally touch their head with your fingers. Hope that helps and make sure to take your time with each step.

    I own 1 5 month old green checked conure but his tail feathers always fall off what do I do then?

    • @blessednestpets
      @blessednestpets  17 днів тому

      Right now my conure's tail feathers are falling out slowly because she's molting, but I can see new ones growing out to replace them. That part is normal. If he's plucking them, the diet, sleep, or mental stimulation could need to be changed. If his feathers fall out and don't grow out, a trip to the vet may be necessary. Hope that helps!

      @@blessednestpets tbh from what I’ve seen in your videos you’re doing great. You already have your bird on a good diet so training should be super easy. They do get very bonded to their owner and wanna be with you 24/7 so you have to make sure they know how to entertain themselves when you aren’t around so they aren’t so stressed when you leave. They will scream none stop
